Clarence Millard “Sonny” Altman (1929-2024)

Clarence Millard “Sonny” Allman, 95, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on November 9th, 2024 at his home. He was born in Beaver Falls on January 10, 1929, the son of the late Clarence M. and Jeanette Morgan Allman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Joanne Marie Winterstill, a sister, Rose, a brother, Bud, and one cousin, James Allman. Clarence was a retired crane operator with LTV Steel of Aliquippa. He was a member of St. John Lovi Church of Cranberry Township and he was also a member of the USW Local 1211. He was a former manager with the 1945 Freedom High School Football team and was proud to be the oldest living member of that team. He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer C. Bombiani of Raccoon Township, Joanne Rossi of Cummings, Georgia and Celia Ratkovich of Derry, Pennsylvania, one son, Thomas C. Allman of Midland, five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Clarence’s wish was to be buried by his mother at Oak Grove Cemetery of Freedom. Arrangements are being entrusted to William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. The family wishes memorial contributions would be made to the Freedom Bulldogs, 751 Third Avenue, Freedom, PA 15042. The family wishes to thank Concordia Visiting Nurses for their care.
