Carolyn Maxwell, 88, of Beaver, passed away on August 25, 2024 surrounded by family at her home.
She was born on December 11, 1935 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Walter A. Woods and Ella Woods-Carroll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, James D. Maxwell, Sr., daughter-in-law, Kim Gutting and brothers, Walter E. Woods, Homer F. Woods, and Donald M. Woods.
She is survived by her sons, J. Daniel Maxwell II of the Virgin Islands, and Dennis P. (Tobi) Maxwell of Mars; daughter, Erin (Glenn) Niedergall of Ravenna, Ohio; grandchildren, Brent (Christy) Niedergall, of North Carolina, Cara (Brandon) Stout, of Utah, Lauren Van Buskirk, J. D. Maxwell, III and Quinn Ferrence of Mars; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Harry) Humbert; and brother, Paul D. Woods.
Carolyn was active in her community, attending numerous bible studies and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and loved exploring local garage and yard sales with her favorite sister-in-law, Dottie Woods.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 1, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver. Interment and committal service will take place on Tuesday, September 3, at 10 a.m. at Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
