Albert Stauch (1926-2025)

Albert Stauch, 98, a former long time resident of Ambridge, passed away on March 26, 2025. He was born on July 23rd, 1926. For the last 3 years, he was living at Apple Blossom Senior Living in Moon Township. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Klara. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law in New Mexico, Ursula and Stan Zdziarski. Albert was born in Germany and came to the USA in 1951 with his wife and daughter. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic, first at Ambridge Lincoln-Mercury, then at Penney’s Auto Garage in Baden and retired from Demor Automotive on McKnight Road. He was well known throughout the area as a skilled front-end mechanic and had a loyal following of satisfied customers. Albert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ambridge from 1952 until the present. For many years he served as one of the church ushers, and with 2 other men was part of the group which the church members affectionately dubbed “The Three Musketeers.” This group donated many hours to cleaning, repairing, and maintaining the church facilities. Albert was also always available to help out any neighbors or friends, whether with automotive problems or with household “fix-it” issues. He was loved by all who knew him. Ursula and Stan wish to thank all the neighbors, friends, and church members who provided assistance to Albert in his later years when his health declined and he was no longer able to drive or manage strenuous activities. Their help enabled Albert to remain in his home as long as possible. Ursula and Stan are especially grateful for the assistance provided by Pastor Gordon Strunk, the former pastor of St. John’s until his retirement. Pastor Strunk regularly took Albert out to lunch at local restaurants, did grocery shopping, took him to doctor appointments, and faithfully continued to visit to provide spiritual comfort. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1320 Church Street, Ambridge on Sunday, April 6th, at the end of the regularly scheduled 11:15 a.m. church service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1320 Church Street, Ambridge, PA, 15003. The Corless-Matter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1133 Church Street, Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.
