(Big Beaver, Pa.) A tractor trailer that was traveling eastbound on the Pa. Turnpike near the Beaver Valley Interchange blew a tire that caused the truck to hit the Jersey Barrier and burst into flames. It was reported that the driver was not injured but taken to a local hospital for observation.
The accident happened around 8:15 Tuesday evening and kept the eastbound lanes closed over night. The lanes were reopened shortly after 5 AM this morning.
Traffic had to be detoured from the New Castle Exit to I-376 across US-422 and then south on Interstate 79 to Cranberry to regain access to the turnpike.
