State Rep. Jim Marshall Warns Residents of I-R-S And Other Tax Scams

State Representative Jim Marshall is warning residents of potential I.R.S. and other tax scams. Marshall tells Beaver County Radio Newsman Pat Septak that he’s received several calls from concerned citizens. Marshall says the I.R.S. will never call to demand immediate payment or call about taxes owed without first having mailed a bill…and the I.R.S. will never ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone. Residents who suspect a scam should call the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue at (717) 787-8201 or the I.R.S. at 1-800-829-1040.
