Local Coach Reflects On Life Of Geneva College Soccer Player Killed In Weekend Crash

A local coach is reflecting on the life of a Geneva College soccer player who was killed in a weekend crash. The crash in Evans City involved four Geneva College students, leaving one dead and two others taken to hospitals Saturday night. Nate Ferraco and the other three students were on their way home from an indoor soccer league game, unaffiliated with the school, when the car hit a patch of ice. Two of the other three students in the car were taken to Allegheny General and Butler Hospitals…but all three are said to be doing okay this afternoon. Ferraco was a freshman soccer player for Geneva College. Gary Dunda – Mens soccer coach at Geneva – recruited Nate for the team last year and tells Beaver County Radio newsman Pat Septak that he knew Nate and his family very well and that he was a terrific person both on and off the field. Funeral services for Nate Ferraco are scheduled for Wednesday. Ferraco was a graduate of Penn Hills High School.
