After Wednesday’s regular work session, commissioners chairman Dan Camp said at least two more applicants will be interviewed for financial administrator to replace the fired Ricardo Luckow. Besides, the county now must negotiation seven union contracts up for renewal. Because of that, the budget process will not begin until August or September, according to Camp. He says department directors are keeping tabs on their respective budgets.
In another matter, commissioners, minus Sandie Egley who’s away at a conference, heard complaintgs from Shannon Moses, president of Beaver County adult hockey league about deplorable conditions at the Bradys Run ice arena. Raw sewage in at least one locker room, no running water, dirty showers, floors covered in sludge and bad, cracking ice on the rink comprised a partial laundry list of bad conditions at the arena. Moses said since August, 2016, her league has paid the county ;over 105 thousand dollars in arena rental fees and conditions at the arena aren’t worth the price.
Commissioners chairman Dan Camp told Moses that commissioners, public works director Dan Colville and tourism and recreation director Tim Ischman will inspect the arena and will meet to see what can be corrected.
