Breaking News!!!!!! Crosby full participant in practice today

Sidney Crosby and Conor Sheary returned to the ice for a second straight day today at the UPMC66 Training Facility in Cranberry today. after suffering concussions during Game 3 against the Washington Capitals.

Both were wearing normal jerseys, rather than a no-contact version.

Crosby and Sheary also took part in normal line rushes during the Penguins’ practice. Crosby was centering Jake Guentzel and Patric Hornqvist, while Sheary was alongside Nick Bonino and Bryan Rust. Crosby said he feels good after practice today and Sheary will be a game time decision

Pittsburgh Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby skated in full gear this morning at the team’s practice facility in Cranberry, Head coach Mike Sullivan told reporters in a conference call as it was reported on the Pens website today.

There was no formal practice this morning, but Crosby was on the ice alongside Conor Sheary and Carl Hagelin.  Sullivan said  that Crosby skated and is in the rehab process, referring to his status as “day-to-day.”  Sullivan did not say what Crosby’s availability for Game 5 of the Second Round series of the Stanley Cup Play-offs will be  Saturday night at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., saying only, “It’s a day-to-day process and we’re taking each day as it comes.”

Penn State Master Gardners on Teleforum

The Penn Master Gardeners Don Buffington and Adele Whipple were on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday May 2, 2017. The topics of discussion were many from what should be planted in your garden already to what shouldn’t be. They also talked about spring lawn care and spring plants and flowers around the yard. Don and Adele answered many questions from the listeners throughout the show. Tune in next month on June sixth as Don and Adele will return. We’ll see where you should be with your garden and other types of summer plant care. UPDATE on BREAKING NEWS!!! Reported shots Fired in Pulaski Twp. Beaver County

Reports say a man was shooting his gun on the porch of his home in Pulaski Twp, Beaver County and is currently barricaded in his home. Details are sketchy at this point as the standoff is still active as of 5:25 pm today. Tune  into AM Beaver County tomorrow morning for complete details. Currently Beaver County S.W.A.T. is on the scene and negotiations are under way right now. We’ll try to keep you updated as the situation unfolds.

UPDATE 5:39 PM

The incident is in the area of 43 rd street and Sunflower Road . Police are asking to please stay clear of the area as this is an on going situation.

 

UPDATE 7:06 PM

Still an active situation. Police are awaiting a warrant to enter the premises. It’s being reported a domestic dispute is what started the incident and it escalated into the current situation. Police attempted a noise type of tactic to flush out the suspect shortly after 7 pm without success. Stay tune through out the evening as we continue to update the situation.

UPDATE 8 PM

Police continue to attempt to bring a peaceful end to the situation. Reports from neighbors report the suspect has a 38 caliber hand gun. It’s reported that a warrant has been signed giving ok for SWAT team to attempt to enter the premises. Various reports from eyewitnesses on the scene say that a robot has been deployed with a camera to try and survey the situation.

Witnesses on the scene have said that a sharp shooter has been escorted to the scene by PA State Police.

9:30 pm nothing new to report still following closely. Many people have identified the suspect both on the scene and via Facebook but authorities have not released his name.

10:30 pm

Man in Custody as the Stand off comes to a peaceful end.  The Suspect has been identified as Benjamin Cook .  Tune into WBVP and WMBA tomorrow morning for a full report and any updated information from News Director Pat Septak.

2017 Ambridge Spring Home and Garden Show

Beaver County Radio did a live ‘broadcast from the 2017 Ambridge Spring Home and Garden Show at the Ambridge Do It Best Home Center in Ambridge on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Frank Sparks and Eric Mc Kenna interviewed many of the vendors and participants during the broadcast. There were many activities for the entire family and of course plenty of everyone’s favorite food. This was just one of the many great things the Ambridge Regional Chamber of Commerce has planned for the new up and coming Ambridge this year. David Strano and Taylor Nichol Talk Ambridge Home and Garden Show on Teleforum

David Strano, owner and manager of Ambridge Do it Best and Taylor Nichol Executive Director of the Ambridge Regional Chamber of Commerce were guests of Frank Sparks on Teleforum on Wednesday April 26, 2017. David and Taylor told the listeners about the Ambridge Home and Garden Show that will be in the parking lot of the Do It Best along Route 65 in Ambridge. The Show runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday April 29, 2017. David talked about the roll the store will play in the show as well as being the host.  There will be many displays and demonstrations through out the day.  There will also be activities for the whole family and of course great food from some great area establishments. WBVP and WMBA will broadcast the popular racing show the Lead Lap live from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Eric McKenna’s popular show Your Personal Realtor from 10:30 to 12 noon. WBVP and WMBA will conduct interviews live on the air through out the morning and the ever popular WBVP and WMBA Personality Prize Wheel will be making an appearance with your chance to win some great prizes by just picking out your favorite personality and landing on their picture. Stacey Ivol, Beaver Heritage Foundation, Talks WW II display at Museum

Stacey Ivol from the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation was a guest of Frank Sparks on Teleforum on Wednesday April 26, 2017. Stacey told the listeners about the traveling Heinz History Center World War II display that is currently on display at the Beaver Heritage Museum. Chris Shovlin, former WBVP radio personality and member of the Executive Committee of The Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame was a guest on Teleforum with Frank Sparks this morning Wednesday April 26, 2017.
