Aliquippa Wins Over Northgate 60-42

Aliquippa Quips are showing that they are a team that can score and score in a hurry, at least they did that against Northgate Friday night in the third quarter after the Quips let Northgate back in the game giving up a lead of 15 to 5 after the first Quarter to a 23 to 20 lead at the half. The third quarter the Quips exploded on the court totally taking over the game and Northgate who is a good team could not stop the Quips who put 27 points in their best quarter of the night while only allowing 7 points from their opponents who had a big come back in the second quarter. The Quips went on to close the game out with out any problems not letting the Northgate team get any more runs again, final score Quips 60 Northgate 42 . the game was Broadcast right here on 99,3 FM 95.7 FM and 1230 WBVP / 1460 WMBA and world wide on Beaver County Radio By Mike Azadian and Joe Sager.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tom Brady has announced his retirement. Brady won a record seven Super Bowls for New England and Tampa Bay. He is the most successful quarterback in NFL history and one of the greatest athletes in team sports. He posted the announcement on social media in a brief video lasting just under one minute. He says this time it’s for good. He briefly retired after the 2021 season but wound up coming back for one more year. He retires at age 45, the owner of numerous passing records in an unprecedented 23-year career.

Super Bowl features matchup of 1st and 2nd team All-Pro QBs

It’s only fitting that the top two quarterbacks in the regular season based on All-Pro voting are the last two quarterbacks standing in the NFL this season. First-team All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes will take his Kansas City Chiefs into the Super Bowl against second-team All-Pro Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. This marks the seventh time since the merger that the first-team All-Pro quarterback will face the second-teamer for the championship. It last happened in the 2016 season when second-teamer Tom Brady’s Patriots beat first-teamer Matt Ryan’s Falcons 34-28 in overtime.

Beaver

The Bobcats went up the road to the home of the Blackhawk Cougars and in front of a big crowd showed that they are a team that can play, Blackhawk came out and hit a three pointer on their first shot but that was the last lead of the game for the Cougars on senior night for Blackhawk. The first couple of quarters where what Bruce Frey described as street ball with both teams running and gunning up and down the court. The first quarter Beaver went up 14 to 7, the second quarter was fast paced and Beaver was playing a two three zone and it was causing Blackhawk to turn the ball over many times . The third quarter Blackhawk started to make a comeback getting the lead down to 11 points but the Bobcats kept making shots and finished the game off going away with the win 63 to 39. Mike Azadian and Bruce Frey had the call on 99.3 FM 95.7 FM and WBVP/WMBA and world wide on Beaver County Radio.

Analysis: NFL wasn’t at its best in conference championships

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs prevailed on championship weekend to reach Super Bowl 57. But the NFL didn’t exactly have a stellar weekend as infuriating flags and non-calls dominated both the NFC and AFC title games. The NFC championship was a blowout because the San Francsico 49ers lost all their quarterbacks. An emergency third quarterback would have come in handy Sunday but the league and its players ditched the third quarterback designation more than a decade ago. The AFC title game went down to the wire but questionable calls including an intentional grounding on Joe Burrow proved crucial.

Patrick Mahomes finally got the best of Joe Burrow. All he needed was a little shove. Harrison Butker made a 45-yard field goal with 3 seconds left — after Cincinnati’s Joseph Ossai was flagged for a 15-yard penalty for shoving Mahomes after he was out of bounds — and the Chiefs beat the Bengals 23-20 in the AFC championship game to make it back to the Super Bowl. Kansas City will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona. The Eagles clobbered the Niners 31-7 in the NFC title game earlier Sunday. They’ve looked dominant in the playoffs so far, beating the New York Giants 38-7 in the divisional round.

The Tigers Win They Knock Neshannock 52 43

The Beaver Falls Tigers and the Nesannock Lancers battled from the jump in a very physical hard fought game by both teams with pushing shoving words being exchanged through out the game with one t called on Beaver Falls probably to get things calmed down. As Mike Azadian who had the call along with Joe Sager on color described the game as rock um sock um, and it sounded like both teams were playing very hard with playoff spots on the line in front of a big crowd from both schools showing up to support their home teams. It was a very low scoring game in the first quarter and with the Tigers hitting a buzzer beater to take a 13 10 lead  after the first quarter.  The second Quarter was all beaver Falls getting their biggest lead of the game going into half in front 29 – 17 .The third  quarter the Lancers came out and forced 6 turnovers off the Tigers to get the Tigers coach’s attention for who let his team know that their play was unacceptable. They played a very strong forth quarter keeping their cool under pressure and it payed of for the Tigers by not making the big mistakes that often  cause a team to lose a close game the final score Beaver Falls 52 Neshannock 43. The game was heard here at WBVP WMBA and 99.3 FM and 95.7 FM with Mike Azadian And Joe Sager on the call.
