Tornadoes Touch Down In Bridgewater

(Brigdewater, PA) Head Football coach Coach Geno DeMarco and the Geneva College Golden Tornado Football team were special guests on Coaches Corner at Robert’s Roadside inn on Wednesday Evening.  The sports patio at Roberts roadside Inn took on the colors of old gold and white as the featured guests arrived for the live broadcast.

Local Baseball Legend, Jack Damaska, Appears on Saturday Morning Sports Slam

(Beaver Falls, PA)  The talk was all about baseball on Saturday Morning as Beaver Falls Native and former pro baseball player Jack Damaska joined Frank Sparks and Greg Benedetti.  Listeners were treated to stories about Jack’s career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Beaver Falls Legion and high school baseball, along with memories and stories about College hill and West Mayfield youth teams.

Damaska was signed by the Cardinals in 1957 and had over 1800 hits in his minor league career and briefly made an appearance in the major leagues with St. louis in 1963.  More information about Jack can be viewed here.

Shazier Practices

The Steelers open their home season  Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals. For the most part the Steelers are healthy. LB Ryan Shazier left Monday nights game against Washington. He hurt his right knee  in the fourth quarter.  He did not practice Wednesday.  He did practice yesterday.  He told reporters  yesterday he expects to play Sunday.   Steelers-Bengals Sunday with pregame at 11am on WBVP-WMBA.   Kickoff is at one.

Pirates vs Reds

After splitting a series with the Phillies, the Pirates are in Cincinnati tonight to begin a four game series in three days  against the Reds. Tonight’s starters are   Ryan Vogelsong for the Pirates and Robert Stephenson for the Reds.  Because of high school football, the next broadcast will be Saturday.  The second game of the day and night double header starts at 6:10pm.
