The Beaver Falls Tigers came out moving the ball. It looked like they were going to take the first lead of the game, but fell short. It was all Beaver for the rest of the game. Beaver Falls eventually scored, but missed the extra point. The Beaver Bobcats not only needed a win, but some help from other teams to secure a wild card playoff entree, which is exactly what happened. The players of the game were Gino Mavero for Beaver and Kani Jones- Thomas for Beaver Falls. The final score was Beaver-68 Beaver Falls-6. Tonight’s game on WMBA was between Rochester and Western beaver. Rochester had put up 8 points with a touchdown and two point conversion in the first half leaving the score 8 to 0 Rochester. Immediately after the third quarter started Rochester got another touchdown and then missed the p.a.t. making the v score 14 to 0. Late in the third Rochester had a bad snap which caused a fumble that Western Beaver recovered and was able to put up 7 making it 14 to 7 Rochester. With 11:55 left in the fourth the Rams were able to drive in for another touchdown bringing the score to 20 to 7. Rochester then again scored a few minutes later and got a two point conversion to bring the final score to Rochester 28 and Western Beaver 7. The final week of High School Football’s regular season has come, and Beaver County Radio has two games that contain playoff implications.
On 1230 WBVP, the Beaver Bobcats (7-2) will attempt to bolster their bid for a wild-card spot in the 3A Playoffs as they travel to Beaver Falls (1-7) for a 7:00 showdown at Reeves Field. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30.
On 1460 WMBA, Rochester (6-2) is attempting to claim a Big Seven Conference title in 1A, while Western Beaver (6-3) is attempting to jump the Rams and earn the right to host a first-round playoff game. Pre-game coverage begins at 7:00.

Phil Kessel streaked down the ice on a breakaway and snapped one thru the five-hole for his 300th career goal 1:07 into overtime winning it for the Penguins 2-1 against the Winnepeg Jets Thursday night, October the 26, 2017, from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. It was Kessel’s fourth goal this year and his second straight overtime winning goal. Connor Sheary scored his fifth goal of the season to get the scoring under way just a minute and twenty five seconds into the game. Jake Guenztel and Sydney Crosby assisted on the goal. The Jets then tired it up on a Josh Morrissey goal 9:25 seconds into the first period. The Pens are now 7-3-1 with 15 points and are in first place in the Metropolitan Division. The Jets are now 4-3-1 with 9 points. Matt Murray stopped 30 of 31 shots to get the win in goal. The Pens are next in action on the road in Minnesota Saturday night October 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. on Beaver County Radio.
