(Aliquippa, Pa.) SD Project, a nonprofit organization that provides baseball and softball equipment for disadvantaged communities and owned by Center High School grad Sam Dimatteo has stepped in to refurbish the Lefty Cepull ballfields in Aliquippa’s Plan 12., off of main Street. He said the work should take a few weeks, this Saturday is a workday and is staffed by volunteers.

In the first quarter Bishop Guilfoyle came out strong against Rochester but the rams kept in close at the end of the first quarter the score Bishop Guilfoyle 19 Rochester 14. The second quarter started off just as the first did with The Marauders coming out scoring a ton but The Lady Rams Tried to keep it close with the score at the half The Marauders 34 the Lady Rams 29. In the third quarter there was a bunch of turnovers from both teams but Bishop Guilfoyle kept the scoring going against Rochester the score after 3 Bishop Guilfoyle 48 Rochester 35. In the final quarter of the game The Marauders had a bunch of turnovers which lead to a massive comeback by The Lady Rams but it wasnt enough Bishop Guilfoyle came out on top over Rochester to take them to state championships the final score Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders 55 The Rochester Lady Rams 50.

The Hickory Hornets are going to Chocolate Town, after defeating the Lincoln Park Leopards 68-61. After, taking an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter the Leopards did not lead at any other part during the game. After, that the Hornets took a 29-21 lead going into the half. In second half the Leopards kept fighting back, actually bringing the score within 5 before the Hornets went on a little run going into the fourth quarter 46-35. Despite their efforts it was not enough for the Leopards fell 68-61. The Hickory Hornets will play Allentown Central Catholic Vikings the PIAA State Finals.

The Lincoln Park Leopards defeated the Clearfield Bison 67-34 in the PIAA State Quarterfinals. The Leopards started the game on fire and they did not seem to cool off the rest of the game. They took an early lead in the first quarter and the Leopards did not let it go. Going into the half with a commanding 41-19 lead and the second half was much of the same. As Lincoln Park seemed to not miss tonight adding to their lead in the third quarter. The Leopards move on to the PIAA State Semifinals on Monday night where they will play the winner of Johnstown vs Hickory.
