Despite trailing after the first quarter (20-18) Aliquippa remains undefeated (20-0) and wins Section 5-AA with a 64-44 victory over Quaker Valley on WMBA. Sheldon Jeter led the Quips with 23 points, while Amos Luptak scored 27 to lead the Quakers. Both men were selected as tonight’s CCBC Players of The Game. New Castle wins Section 2-AAA and remains undefeated (20-0) overall with a – win over Beaver Falls on WBVP. The Red Hurricane took the lead for good with a 3-point shot that ended the 1st quarter at 11-10 New Castle. Tonight’s CCBC Players of The Game were Marcus Hooker for New Castle (18 points) and Josh Creach for Beaver Falls (16 points). The Tigers drop to 11-2 in Section 2-AAA (18-3 overall), while New Castle clinches their first section title since 2014, improving to 13-0 in the section with the finale on Friday.
