(Chippewa Twp., Pa.) The Beaver Falls Tigers went to Blackhawk Friday night for their first game of the year and played good defense keeping the Cougars off the score board until very late in the 4th quarter. Beaver Falls jumped out to a quick lead and got out to a fast 22 point lead, but then the cougar defense stiffened up and kept the tigers off the score board the rest of the game. It was a good game for both teams to work the kinks out before the regular season gets started.

(Beaver Pa.) In a game ripe with penalties and turnovers, Western Beaver managed to score three times in the last three minutes of the first half. Beaver tried and failed to get themselves back in the game with just one touchdown in the second half.

The time that many football fans have awaited has finally come: the return of high school action under the Friday night lights in the Beaver Valley.

Tonight commences with nine games featuring local squads, and that includes the pair of games tonight on Beaver County Radio: Blackhawk hosts Beaver Falls on 1230 WBVP & 99.3 FM at 7:00 PM with a 6:30 pregame. The “Battle of 15010” will also be streamed on Beaver County Radio’s Facebook page as well as the Trib Live High School Sports Network.

On 95.7 FM & 1460 WMBA, Western Beaver travels to Beaver for a battle at Pat Tarquinio Field, with pregame set for 7:00 PM and kickoff slated for 7:30 PM. After all of tonight’s games are over, check out beavercountyradio.com for all the final scores, and tune in to any of the BCR platforms for the Falconi’s Moon Township Ford Wrap-Up Show until 11:00 PM.
