The Beaver Bobcats proved they still had gas left in the tank after their shocking win over Aliquippa last week.
The Bobcats defeated section foes Quaker Valley tonight by a score of 38-14 on WMBA. Beaver remains undefeated overall (3-0) and in the conference (2-0). Quaker Valley is 0-1 in the Beaver Valley Conference and 2-1 overall.
Beaver’s Darius Wise and Quaker Valley’s Rickey Guss were named the CCBC Players of the game.

Neshannock 49, New Brighton 0
New Brighton’s first home game of the year took place tonight at Oak Hill Field. After tonight, a vacation far away might be in store.
The Neshannock Lancers scored early and often in a 49-0 rout of the Lions on WBVP tonight, forcing a mercy rule at the beginning of the second half. The loss drops the Lions to 0-3 in the MAC and 0-3 overall, while the Lancers improve to 2-0 in the conference and 3-1 overall.
Despite the loss, the performance of Deshawn Clark earned him CCBC Player of the Game honors for New Brighton. Frank Antuono won the honors for Neshannock.

A wild showdown between Midwestern Athletic Conference teams ended in Freedom’s favor, as the Bulldogs get their first win in over a year, defeating the New Brighton Lions 24-21 at Bulldog Stadium on 1460 WMBA.
New Brighton was leading 21-7 in the 4th quarter, but Freedom scored 17 unanswered to take the 24-21 lead. The Lions had the chance to send it into overtime, but missed on a 42-yard field goal with 11 seconds to go.
New Brighton drops to 0-2 in the MAC and overall; Freedom improves to 1-0 in the MAC, 1-2 overall.
Freedom’s Zach Rosa and New Brighton’s Tylar Williams were tonight’s CCBC Players of The Game.

Lions’ Missed Field Goal
Mars 24, Blackhawk 21
It seemed like Blackhawk would pull off a second consecutive win to start the 2016 season after they took a 21-7 lead into the halftime break.
As it turns out, the Planets did not align in favor of the Cougars.
Caleb Brake capped off a monumental comeback with a 39-yard field goal as time expired, as Mars scores 24 unanswered points to defeat Blackhawk 24-21 at Northwestern Stadium, as heard on 1230 WBVP. Both Mars and Blackhawk are now 1-1 in the Northern Nine Conference (4A) and overall.
Carl Jaszcar of Blackhawk and Garrett Reinke of Mars were tonight’s CCBC Players of the Game.
