Mike Zmijanac Talks Quips Football On Coaches Corner
The Aliquippa Quips are coming off a 42-12 victory in the 3A quarterfinals against South Park. They will now play the Beaver Bobcats in the 3A semifinal, who themselves are coming off a 40-20 win over Elizabeth Forward.
Quips head coach Mike Zmijanac was the guest at Robert’s Roadside Inn for Coaches Corner on Wednesday night. He explained how his team overcame an impacting injury, and the style that helps them win games:
The Aliquippa/Beaver game will be on 1460 WMBA with pre-game beginning at 7:00; kickoff is at 7:30.

Kessel Remains Hot, Schultz Returns To Lineup
The Pittsburgh Penguins won their fourth straight game against the Coyotes in four games at PPG Paints Arena, winning Tuesday night by a score of 4-1.
The Pens are now 5-0-1 at home this season, winning 5 straight since their season opener (a 5-4 OT loss to St. Louis on October 4). The pairing of Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin continue to produce, as both men notched a goal and two assists in the game. Kessel now has 5 goals and 14 assists, putting him in a 5-way tie for 5th in league scoring with 19 points.
Malkin and Kessel were the assistants on the first goal of the game by Penguin defenseman Justin Schultz, who returned the lineup after missing six games to injury. After the game, Schultz spoke about getting back into rhythm:
