Quaker Valley 54, Grove City 48 on Beaver County Radio

In a game that was back and forth to  start, Grave City had WPIAL runner up Quaker Valley at the half by five, but the Quakers had a great third quarter to regain the lead and never looked back to capture the victory to advance in the PIAA state basketball tournament.  Quaker Valley moves on to play Hickory who beat Belle Vernon 92-52 on Tuesday.

ICYMI: Lincoln Park Celebrates WPIAL Basketball Championship At Coaches Corner

The Lincoln Park Leopards have always had gold as part of their uniform, but the extra gold certainly doesn’t hurt its luster.

Lincoln Park coach Mike Bariski chats with Tom Hays during the Leopards’ celebration at Roberts’ Roadside Inn.

The boys’ basketball team, coming off of their victorious performance against Seton-LaSalle last Thursday, joined Beaver County Radio at Robert’s Roadside Inn for a title celebration on Coaches Corner.

Andre Wilder speaks about his role in the Lincoln Park victory over Seton-LaSalle.

It had been four years and two classification changes since the Leopards won a WPIAL title, and none of the players on the current roster were on the 2014 team. Neither was head coach Mike Bariski, who earned his first title as coach with the team’s victory at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh.

The Leopards will now play Mount Union from District 6 in the PIAA First Round of the 3A playoffs this Saturday at 4:30 at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic. Game coverage on Beaver County Radio begins following coverage of the Beaver/Belle Vernon game (also at North Catholic).
