(Bridgewater Pa.) Week 4 got under way with the coaches corner from the Patio at Robert’s Roadside Inn on Wednesday September 20, 2018 at 7 pm with host Bob Barrickman, Tom Hays, and Bruce Frey. Joining the guys on this special evening was guest color commentator Bill Fontana who will be on color commentary for the WBVP game Friday night when the Quips of Aliqiuippa visit Reeves Field on the campus of Geneva College and take on the host Beaver Falls Tigers in a match-up of undefeated conference foes. The guys invited in Beaver Falls Head Coach Nick Nardone and his players to talk about the huge turn around in the Tigers from last year. Friday’s game will be a battle of two undefeated teams who are perennial WPIAL Title contenders. The guys were also joined by Blachawk’s Marques Watson – Trent who was the CCBC Player of the Game for the Cougars against Knoch on August 31, 2018. Another CCBC Player of the game for the week of September 17, 2018 in Beaver Falls’- Dayln Brickner was in the house and he talked with the guys about what it’s going to take to beat the Quips on Friday night. On a game heard on WBVP and WMBA it was a game that Geneva jumped out to a 7-0 lead early, but Thiel answered on the next possession and made it 7-7. It was all Geneva after that making it a 27-7 game in the fourth quarter and out playing Thiel in the second half. Thiel wouldn’t go down easy however. Scoring a late touchdown, but coming up just short. Geneva wins 27-14.
On a game heard on WBVP and WMBA, Pitt jumped out to an early 21-0 lead over the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech. Pitt had the lead 21-0 at the half, but the Yellow Jacket’s wouldn’t give up, scoring out of the half to make it 21-6. Pitt answered with a field goal to make it 24-6. Georgia tech added two more scored and made it 24-19 where they tried the onside kick and failed. Final score ended with a 24-19 victory fr the Panthers as they get to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the ACC (Atlantic Coastal Conference). Pitt takes on North Carolina next Saturday at 12:20 ET.
The Red Storm rolled into Pat Tarquinio Feild against the Beaver Bob Cats and turned the ball over too many times. Beaver started out strong, but punted more in the second half than putting up points. New Castle had a chance, but couldn’t pull out the win. The final score was;
