Ambridge- Deyvon Gill-Martin |
Beaver achieved victory on their home turf tonight as they barely let anything from Ambridge get through their defense. The Bobcats started off the first quarter with a bang as Wyatt Ringer took it into the end zone with a 55 yard touchdown. Ringer brought that energy into the second quarter, running the ball three yards for a second touchdown. The kick was no good, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for the Bobcats. The Bridgers fought back before the end of the half with Deyvon Gill-Martin scoring a 33 yard touchdown, bringing the halftime score to 13-7. The Bobcats held their ground against the Bridgers throughout the third quarter, maintaining the six point lead. Gill-Martin took a hard hit during the third quarter, temporarily stopping game play. After inspection, Gill-Martin jumped back in the game to fight for his team. Despite Gill-Martins desire to stay in the game, he was taken back to the sidelines after a touchdown by Bobcats’ Zach Harris. With a hard effort from both teams, the game ended with a final score of 20-7.

(Moon Twp.,Pa.) The Moon Tigers were fired up Friday night to defend their home field and to give the high ranked Peters Twp. Indians their first section loss of the season. The Tigers were able to do just that in a hard-fought game defeating Peters Township 21-13. The Tiger’s tenacious defense was too much for the Indians high powered offense to handle as the Indians struggled to hold onto the ball, and slow down the Tiger’s offense. The Tiger’s took an early 14-7 lead heading into the half without leaving any room for error. The Indians were trying to mount a comeback as they headed into the fourth quarter. Trailing 21-7 at the beginning of the fourth, their efforts were not enough as they inevitably fell to the Tigers 21-13. Peter’s Township suffered their first defeat of the year and are now 6-1 over-all and 3-1 in the Allegheny Eight Confernce. The the victory the Tigers pull into a three way tie at 3-1 in second place with the Indians and Upper St. Claire, the Tigers next opponent ,in the Allegheny Eigtht Conference. Bethel Park is at the top of the conference at 4-0. Bethel Park still has to play both Peters Twp. and USC the last two weeks of the season. With the victory the Tigers placed themselves into the thick of the battle for the section title. The Tigers are now 5-2 overall on the season.
