Beaver County Radio Is Now Streaming 24 Hours A Day Via Beavercountyradio.com

 

(Beaver Falls, PA) Beaver County Radio officials announce the addition of new cutting edge streaming technology.

At  a staff luncheon held in the WBVP/WMBA and 99.3 F.M. headquarters in Beaver Falls, PCoverrogram Director, Frank Sparks, stole the show when he stood up and made a brief speech, and then clicked a play button on his smartphone. Instantaneously, the room was filled with a crystal clear audio stream from the popular Beaver County Radio stations.  Just a few minutes earlier, the final details had been taken care of to enable WBVP, WMBA and 99.3 F.M. to commence with full time audio streaming over the internet.

Beaver County Radio has a tradition that is 72 years long and  now we are making it even easier for you to stay  informed in Beaver County and to take Beaver County Radio wherever you go.  At 12 noon on Friday February 28, 2020 Beaver County Radio started streaming via beavercountyradio.com.

In August of 2019 we added a new FM station, 99.3 FM, to our line-up and now we are making it even easier for you to listen to Beaver County Radio. In the coming weeks you will also be able to download our App via the Google Play Store, the Apple Store, and Alexa.

Program Director, Frank Sparks told Beaver County Radio news that this has been a project that  he and other staffers were excited to work on and bring to the citizens of Beaver County and around the world! Sparks also said this is huge because Beaver Countians who have moved throughout the United States and also the snow birds who go south for the winter can now keep up with what’s going on in the County and Surrounding area. Sparks said Beaver County Radio will now be streaming 24 hours a day.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Kings spoiled Patrick Marleau’s debut with Pittsburgh in a 2-1 victory over the Penguins. Blake Lizotte had a power-play goal and an assist, Cal Petersen made 36 saves and Trevor Lewis also scored in the last-place Kings’ fourth win in seven games. Tristan Jarry stopped 20 shots in Pittsburgh’s fourth consecutive regulation loss, matching their total regulation defeats in their previous 22 games since Christmas. Bryan Rust scored with 13:18 to play for the Penguins with an assist from Evgeni Malkin, who played his 900th career game.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Elijah Hughes scored 25 points, Joe Girard III added 16 and Bourama Sibide chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds as Syracuse smothered Pittsburgh 72-49. The Orange won their second straight despite losing guard Buddy Boeheim to a left ankle injury in the first half. Syracuse’s defense held Pitt to 29% shooting from the field. The Panthers have lost five straight and six of seven. Justin Champagnie led Pitt with 13 points and 17 rebounds but the Panthers struggled to find open looks against Syracuse’s trademark 2-3 zone defense.

Beaver defeats Avonworth

The Beaver Bobcats girls basketball team is headed to the WPIAL Championship after defeating Avonworth tonight 46-37. The Lady Bobcats will play Mohawk this weekend. It was a low scoring, close game for most the game with Beaver going into in the half only up 2. But they came out in the second half on mission stretching their lead going into the 4th quarter.

Lincoln Park defeats Aliquippa in North Allegheny

 

Lincoln Park and Aliquippa traveled to North Allegheny for a playoff showdown. Aliquippa started off seeming to have control of the game early in the first quarter.  However, Lincoln Park did not take long to show that they came to play. LP began to fight back and gained the lead by the end of the first with an 8 point lead over the Quips, resulting in a score of 19-11.  Aliquippa struggled to keep up for they rest of the half, and LP continued to run the game, ending the half with a score of 37-25, in favor of Lincoln Park.  The game’s dynamic did not change much in the second half, the Quips fought and tried to come back but ultimately could not take control of the game, and Lincoln Park took the win. Final Score from North Allegheny, 75-61.

 

 

 

Penguins Acquire Veteran Patrick Marleau From Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Patrick Marleau will get another shot at winning a Stanley Cup after getting traded by the San Jose Sharks to the contending Pittsburgh Penguins for a conditional draft pick. The struggling Sharks will get a 2021 third-round pick from the Penguins for Marleau that becomes a second-rounder if Pittsburgh wins the title this year. Marleau provides a needed depth forward for Pittsburgh with scoring ability as the Penguins look to make a playoff run. They started the day in second place in the Metropolitan Division.
