Aliquippa Boys Beat Shenango 63 -45!

The Quips came out like they do, playing Aliquippa basketball running, great pressure great rebounding and great, defense that’s what they do and its no secret, Shenango was staying with them in the first quarter when it was 10-8 when DJ Walker drove in faked right and went left to make it 12-8 then the Quips got a quick steal shot a three to make it 15-8 and that was as close as Shenango would be. The game did get a little hot as a Shenango player drew a technical foul  that drew attention from the head official Anthony Court to warn both benches to calm down. The Quips lead after the first 15-8 and the second they had the lead 31-21. This was the third time these two teams met this year with Aliquippa winning both and it was looking like Shenango was playing as hard as they could but were not a match for the highly ranked Aliquippa team. It was a good game hats off to both teams as they both played well. the game was broadcast on 95.7FM  99.3FM 1230WBVP/1460WMBA and worldwide on Beaver County Radio by Mike Azadian And Bruce Frey, stay tuned tomorrow for the Freedom Bulldogs And the Aliquippa Quips girls playoff match up in the Beaver falls Middle School gym that game will also be broadcast on 95.7FM 99.3FM 1230wbvp/1460 W MBA and worldwide on Beaver County Radio.

Lincoln Park and South Allegheny Play High Flying Game!

Two teams that can jump were jumping in moon in a High School 4A playoff game in front of a full house, a large crowd student section from South Allegheny made the trip along with more than a few Lincoln Park Faithful followed their team into Moon to witness the high flying event. The game moved fast back and fourth playing quick in transition and  was advantage Lincoln Park who played 11 total players in the game, on the other side South Allegheny only played 5 players for most of the game and put Lincoln Park on the foul line quite a bit but Lincoln Park kept under control by not fouling the Gladiators and their first trip to the line was late in the fourth quarter ,and in a ten point game that Lincoln Park may have felt  was closer than it looked. Maleek Thomas was clearly the best player on the floor having a great game being the Leopards leading scorer, not to take anything away from the other Lincoln Park players that  played well together in a great team effort. The game was broadcast right here on 99.3 FM 95.7 FM 1230 WBVP/1460WMBA and around the World on Beaver County Radio by Mike Azadian And Bruce Frey stay tuned tomorrow we have Blackhawk girls playoff basketball and Aliquippa boys playoff starting at 6pm and 8pm.

Rochester Loses to Imani Christian 78-41

Imani Christian had a big advantage with their rebounding and speed , plus they kept the defense up all game not taking any chances with the very talented Rochester team that did not look like a playoff team a few weeks ago but had just beat union on their last game of the section A. so  you can’t blame Imani to come out strong and not give the Rams a chance to get going. Jerome Mullins had a big game for the Rams scoring 23. Lets hope the Rams get right back in the playoffs next year, this game was broadcast on 99.3, FM 95.7, FM 1230WBVP/1460Wmba and around the world on Beaver County Radio by Mike Azadian and Bruce Frey.

Freedom Lady Bulldogs Dial Up Big Late Fourth Quarter Comeback To Advance 45 – 41

Freedom didn’t waste no time getting on the score board with a bucket and  the lead, as Julz Mobrbacher passed the ball  on the give and go to Morgan Keller for the first points and the lead. That was the offensive for the first quarter, the Bulldogs were trailing 7 to 6 after one. With Mohrbacher getting into foul trouble in the second quarter and and the Freedom team turning the ball over giving Chartiers  all they needed to keep Freedom at bay. The first half Freedom shot one for five from the line, and started to fall away from the Buccaneers, a couple back to back baskets from keller to get the game to 17 -13 with 2:54 left in the second looked good but the Buccaneers broke away to the half with a 23 -14 lead.  The third quarter Chartiers hit nothing but threes in the third quarter and went in to the fourth quarter with a 32-22  lead .In the Fourth Quarter Olivia Henderson brought the somewhat tense Freedom crowd to life with a loud roar when she sank a 3 pointer to get the Bulldogs to within five and they all came alive. In the Fourth quarter Julz Mohrbacher playing with four fouls was taking over the game leading her team up and down the court , they played magnificently and that’s what they needed to do, what a great team effort to get the lead 38 -36 and went into overtime tied 40 -40. The 4 minute overtime was mostly defense but it was a very exciting victory for the Freedom Bulldogs. The game was broadcast here on 99.3 FM 95.7 FM 1230WBVP/1460WMBA and around the world on Beaver County Radio by Mike Azadian and Bruce Frey.
