While batting late in the game with the Reds Saturday night Josh Harrison was hit by a pitch in his left hand. While Harrison did continue the rest of the inning he did not come out to play defense and was taken in for x-rays. The results came back that he has a fracture of the 5th metacarpal on his left hand. Harrison was placed on the 10 day disabled list Sunday morning and the Pirates recalled right hand pitcher Chris Bostick from Triple A Indy to replace Harrison on the roster.
The Pirates went on to beat the Reds 5-0 Saturday night taking Game 2 of the series. The Reds and the Pirates wrap up the series Sunday Afternoon at 1:35 at PNC Park.

Roberto Clemente Jr. Talks About “Food For The Hungry” On Sports Slam
Food For The Hungry is an organization that operates out of Phoenix and is a non-profit that helps starving citizens of the Dominican Republic to obtain water, food, and a healthy way of living. This year they have added the pledge campaign “Striking Out Poverty”, a drive spearheaded by several current MLB players including current Pirate Gregory Polanco.
Roberto Clemente Jr. is the Global Ambassador to FH and the son of Pirates legend Roberto Clemente. He joined Matt Drzik and Greg Benedetti on the Saturday Sports Slam to discuss the great things this organization is doing, as well as the ways others can give their time and donations to this organization.

Pirates win second straight game at Wrigley Field
After losing four straight games the Pittsburgh Pirates have now taken two consecutive wins from the World Champion Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Andrew McCutchen hit a three run blast in the seventh to put the Bucs ahead for good and complete a comeback that saw the Bucs down 6 to 2 at one point in the game. Pirates break Four Game Skid
Gerrit Cole pitched a stellar six innings against the World Champion Chicago cubs. David Freese had three hits to lead the Bucs to the 4 to 2 victory. Tony Watson loaded the bases in the ninth with the help of a David Freese error. The Victory stops a four game losing skid for the Bucs. Game two of the series is Saturday afternoon at 2:20 pm air time is 1:55 pm on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA. The Pirates will send Tyler Glasnow to the mound against Jake Arrietta.
Pirates lose fourth straight game.
After a 3 and 3 home stand the Pirates hit the road for a make-up game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on Thursday afternoon. The Game was a make-up from the game that was rained out last Thursday in Boston. The Pirates led most the game before the bottom fell out in the eighth inning and the Pirates lost 4 to 3 dropping their fourth straight decision. The Pirates are now 3 and 7 on the new year. Kang Out For Start Of Spring Training

The Pittsburgh Pirates are beginning spring training without third baseman Jung Ho Kang. He is scheduled to go on trial in South Korea on charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Kang is in the third year of a four-year contract he signed with Pittsburgh in January 2015.
