Quaker Valley 62 Central Valley 33 Boys Basketball

At Quaker Valley High School in section 2 of 4A the Quakers romp over Central Valley 62-33. Quaker Valley improves to 10-3 on the season and the Warriors fall to 10-3. With the win QV moves into first place with a 9-2 section record. The players of the game for both teams, for Quaker Valley it was Markus Frank, and for Central Valley its was Jayvin Thompson

Aliquippa defeats Avonworth 51-48!!!

The Quips and Antelopes were both undefeated in their sections coming into tonight’s game, and it proved to result in an exciting, close game.  In the first half,  Aliquippa fell behind Avonworth and had to play a game of chase.  The quips were able to bring it to a one point deficit to finish out the first half 22-21 Avonworth.  In the second half, the Antelopes were still maintaining their lead and keeping Aliquippa fighting from behind.  When the 4th quarter came around,  the Quips fought hard and were able to finally take the lead.  Aliquippa ultimately came out on top, finishing the game 51 Aliquippa 48 Avonworth.

Lincoln Park defeats Blackhawk

Bob Barrickman and Tom Hays WBVP-WMBA

Lincoln Park cruises through Blackhawk tonight 75-56. Lincoln Park came the gate on fire tonight they seemed to have had the hot hand as soon as the game tipped off. Lincoln Park started to pull away going into the half up 13. Despite Lincoln Park having the hot hand in the first half, Blackhawk tried to mount a comeback in the third quarter. Cutting the lead to 6 at one point in the third quarter, but it was not enough as Lincoln Park kept raining 3s in the third quarter pushing lead to 17 going into the fourth quarter.

Rochester vs Union

In the first Quarter it was close at the very beginning but Rochester started to get the upper hand on Union ending the first quarter with a score Rochester 16 Union 10. in the second Quarter there were some fouls but through all the fouls The Rams still held the lead over The Scotties 32 to 21. In the third quarter of play there were a ton of fouls by both teams With The Scotties inching closer to that Rams lead with the score after three 42 Rochester 34 Union. In the Fourth quarter there were even more fouls by both teams for clock control but Rochester held on through the Union comeback to win the game 50 to 49.

Beaver bounces back against Quaker Valley 48-42!!!

Quaker Valley started out strong in this game against Beaver, putting points on the board and gaining a 10 point lead early.  The score at the end of the first was QV 18 Beaver 8.  The rest of the first half involved Beaver starting their comeback gain to bring down the score difference to 4 points to end the half QV 22 Beaver 19.  In the second half, Beaver continued their comeback to eventually tie the game and take the lead away from Quaker Valley.  Quaker Valley couldn’t keep up with Beaver like they did when they started the game and fell to Beaver with a final score 48 Beaver 42 Quaker Valley.
