Blackhawk 31 Beaver Falls 20 Final Score: Recap of Friday’s Game

 

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) The Blackhawk Cougars and the Beaver Falls Tiger tangled for a week zero non-conference game at Reeves Stadium on the campus of Geneva College. The First quarter seemed like it was gonna be close but blackhawk had some wide open passes for two touchdowns with the score at the end of the first quarter Beaver Falls 7 Blackhawk 14. The Cougars continued with that powerhouse offense in the second quarter with a ton of rushing and some turnover by The Tigers Putting the score at halftime Cougars 31 Tigers 7.  Beaver Falls seemed to have figured out that Blackhawk offense slowing them down and putting up a touchdown making the score at the end of the third quarter Blackhawk 31 Beaver Falls 14. The Beaver Falls Tigers put up more of a fight against the Blackhawk Cougars but it ultimately was not enough with the final score Blackhawk Cougars 31 Beaver Falls Tigers 20.

 

 

 

CCBC Players of the Game Blackhawk @ Beaver Falls

1230 WBVP, 99.3 FM and beavercountyradio.com’s  Mike Azadian and Eddy Crowe had the call from Reeves Field at Geneva College of a the renewed rivalry of Blackhawk and Beaver Falls. It was a  WPIAL Class 3A vs Class 4A Non-Conference high school contest as the defending champion WPIAL Champion Tigers battled the Cougars.

The CCBC Players of the Blackhawk vs. Beaver Falls game were for Beaver Falls- Jaren Brickner and for Blackhawk- Tyler Dietrich. Both Players excelled in their performance to lead their team. Brickner while he was on the run most of the night but helped keep the Tigers in the game to the very end. Dietrich was a leader in leading the Cougars to victory. In the end the Cougars showed they are the team to beat in the 15010 this year.

VIDEO: National Champion U15 Girl’s Soccer Squad Features Several Beaver County Athletes

The toils and tribulation of hard work and matches against top-tier competition can be exhausting and draining, but they instantly become worth it when the gold is earned.

With their 1-0 win over Utah in the President’s Cup finals, the Century West U15 girl’s soccer team did just that.

Head coach Chris Lantzy joined Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County to talk about Century West’s national championship, coming after a season that started back in March and took a year’s worth of preparation to fully achieve. Coach Chris talked about the levels of talent, discipline, and sportsmanship that these young ladies showcased while climbing the ladder towards their golden victory earlier this month.

Seven players on the Century West roster hail from Beaver County Schools:

* Gabriella “Gigi” Finch (Riverside/Freshman)
* Emerson Connelly (Beaver/Freshman)
* Lilia Battalini (Beaver/Freshman)
* Sydney Chontos (Beaver/Freshman)
* Dionna “Tiger” Santia (Hopewell/Sophomore)
* Bella Gold (Hopewell/Sophomore)
