But before they make their way to the game, they made a stop in Bridgewater for Coaches Corner, which was heard live on Beaver County Radio on Wednesday night. Coach Jerry Veshio was the guest of honor.

Veshio said that the team has been resting in more ways than one since their victory against Aliquippa on November 18…

…and he then spoke about Sharon’s offense and what’ll be key for his Quakers’ defense.

Coverage for the Quaker Valley/Sharon game will begin at 6:30, and kickoff from North Hills will be at 7:00.

3A WPIAL Championship: Quaker Valley 2, Aliquippa 0

The weather made the turf at Heinz Field sloppy.

The play on the field made the the turf at Heinz Field look like a showroom floor.

There were more penalties and turnovers than points, as an early 2nd-quarter safety provided the meager difference in Quaker Valley’s first ever WPIAL Championship victory in football; a 2-0 victory over the Aliquippa Quips.

Bob Barrickman has the recap from Heinz Field:

Quaker Valley, despite four turnovers, improves to 12-1 and will play either Sharon or Forest Hills in the PIAA 3A Semfinal on December 1 or 2. Aliquippa loses in the WPIAL title game for the 2nd consecutive year.

M.J. Devonshire (Aliquippa) and Ryan Jackovic (Quaker Valley) were selected as the CCBC Players of the Game.

Steel Valley 13 vs Riverside 10 11-17-17

Tonight’s playoff game between steel valley and riverside was a nail bitter almost the whole game. Neither team was able to put up any points in the first quarter at all. During the second riverside was able to finally get a touchdown with the extra point. The third quarter of this game was completely on the defense. Neither team was able to get even a first down the entire quarter. Steel Valley was able to tie the game up late into the fourth. In the closing moments of the fourth riverside attempted to get off a field goal but unfortunately it was no good. In overtime riverside was able to get a field goal on they’re first drive making it Riverside 10 Steel Valley 7. Very shortly after that Steel Valley was able to complete a touchdown on they’re drive and ending the game with a final of Steel Valley 13 Riverside 10.
