Western Beaver’s Matt Gray Is Tonight’s Coach On “Coaches Corner”
The Western Beaver Golden Beavers despite a 1-3 conference record, still are fighting for a playoff spot in the Midwestern Athletic Conference in Class 2A. Head Coach Matt Gray will join Bob Barrickman, Tom Hays, Bruce Frey, and Jason Colangelo at Robert’s Roadside Inn to discuss his team and the matchup this week with New Brighton (6:30 airtime Friday night on WBVP). That’s Coaches Corner, tonight on Beaver County Radio beginning at 7:05!
Mohawk 34 @ Riverside 18 Final Score on WBVP and the Trib-Live Sports Network
Bob Barrickman and Jason Colangelo called the game from Memorial Stadium on the campus of Riverside High School for this key WPIAL Class 2A Midwestern Athletic Conference high school football game as the Panthers battle the Warriors. A game that was all Mohawk to start, scoring on a big pass play to start the game, followed by a big run in the first to take a 14-0 lead. Riverside was driving and the Mohawk had an 80 yard pick six to make it 21-0. Riverside didn’t give up, clawing back into the game making it 21-6. Mohawk started to pull away making it 28-6. Final score 34-18 Mohawk.

Beaver 51 @ Ambridge 0 Final on WMBA and the Trib-Live Sports Network
Tom Hays and Bruce Frey had the call from Moe Rubenstein Stadium on the campus of Ambridge High School fo this key WPIAL Class 4A Northwest Eight Conference high school football game as the Bridgers battled the Bobcats.
The game started with Ambridge getting the opening possession of the ball. They quickly turned it over to Beaver whom scored shortly after with a 36 yard touchdown run by Gino Mavero. Before the end of the first quarter Beaver put up a touchdown with 3 yard run yet again from Gino Mavero bringing the score to Beaver 14 Ambridge 0 at the end of the first. Shortly after the start of the second quarter Beaver drove the ball down field and scored again with a 16 yard pass to Anthony George. Then with 4:28 left on the clock Anthony George scores again for Beaver with a 3 yard touchdown run. With 2:10 left in the second quarter Beaver got the ball from Ambridge then moved the ball down to the 4 yard line with just a few seconds left where Noah Yates got a 4 yard run for a touchdown. The score at the half was then Beaver 35 Ambridge 0 which enacted the mercy rule for the second half.
Beaver received the ball for the start of the second half and moved the ball the whole way down field and ended the drive with a 10 yard touchdown run by Gino Mavero giving him his third of the night. Shorty after that beaver put up a 21 yard field goal by Becket Connelly. With 5:19 left in the 4th quarter Tyler Ziggas made a 5 yard run for another beaver touchdown. The Final for the game was Beaver 51 Ambridge 0.
