Aliquippa’s defense continues to hold as the Tigers of Sharon were held scoreless in the 2nd quarter from Slippery Rock University in the PIAA 3A Semfinal.

Much like their species counterpart in Rochester, the Rams of South Side Beaver suffered a repeat occurrence at the worst time.

Much like in Week 9, the Rams could not stop the Ironmen from Munhall, as Steel Valley wins their second 2A football title in three years, defeating South Side 48-6 at Joe Walton Stadium on the campus of Robert Morris University. This is the Rams’ second defeat to Steel Valley, having lost 53-6 at the end of the regular season.

Steel Valley improves to 12-1 and advance to the PIAA semifinals. South Side Beaver’s season ends at 10-4.

South Side’s defense held the Steel Valley offense for the majority of the 2nd quarter (including a blocked field goal at the end of the quarter), but the Ironmen tally one more TD and lead the WPIAL 2A Championship 21-0 at the half.

For Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart, it’s a feeling they’ve never felt before.

For the Rochester Rams, it’s a feeling of deja vu.

Like Week 3 of the season, the Rams couldn’t figure out Dan Bradley’s defense as the OLSH Chargers held off Rochester’s running attack en route to a comfortable 28-6 victory in the WPIAL 1A Championship at Heinz Field. For OLSH (12-1), it’s their first football championship in the nine years of their football program. Rochester’s strong season comes to an unfortunate end at 11-2; both losses coming at the hands of the Chargers.

OLSH will have a bye week before playing in the PIAA semifinals.
