Donald Lee Whippo (1946-2025)

Donald Lee Whippo, 79, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on April 24th, 2025 in his home. He was born on January 29th, 1946, a son of the late Emmerson and Irene Whippo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Whippo and 4 brothers and sisters: Chuck Whippo, Cindy Lebasik, Judy Reeher and John Whippo. He is survived by a daughter, Charlene Murray, three grandchildren, Robert & Robyn Murray, Corey Betz (Ashley Donaldson) and Rachel Bethune, a sister, Donna & Marty Benko and five great grandchildren: Sean, Cassie, and Hugh Murray, and Brooklynn and Paxton Donaldson.

Donald worked at Mayer-China as well as Phoenix Glass and finally retired from the Pittsburgh Airport Authority as a custodian. He was a lifetime member of the Rochester Turners and was on their bowling team. He was happiest when he was outside. He enjoyed camping, cutting grass and gardening.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, April 28th, from 5-8 p.m. in Unionville United Methodist Church, 1297 PA-68, Rochester. Please bring a dish to share. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Lil M. Schreiner (1926-2025)

Lil M. Schreiner, 99, of Beaver Falls, passed away on April 24th, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospice of Wexford. She was born in Freedom on April 20th, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Matlock) Schreiner. In addition to her parents, Lil was preceded in death by a son, Robert James “Bobby” Haffey, her brothers: Joseph, Harvey, Bill, Oliver, Edward, Frank and Charlie Schreiner; as well as her sisters, Anna Shee and Elizabeth Ruckert. She is survived by her children: Sue (Charlie) Herdt, John Haffey, Donald (Janalee) Haffey, and Angel Lynn Britton; along with her grandchildren: Chelsea (Matt) Herdt-Dawson, Courtney Herdt, Michele (Phil) Herdt, Lyndsey (Bryce Reich) Haffey, Alaina Haffey, Justin McKenzie, Michael Berry, Caitlin Ortiz, and Kelly Blanton-Haffey; as well as nine great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, especially those near and dear to her heart like Peggy (Frank) Johnson and Chucky Ruckert.

Lil grew up on a farm which developed her hard work ethic and love for the outdoors. She nurtured her friendships with the same care and passion she poured into her garden, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth. She was a woman of strong faith, who found solace and strength in reading the Bible and was a member of the Beaver Valley Wesleyan Methodist Church. She loved animals (especially her dogs), listening to her police scanner and spending quality time with her family. Lil was a woman who truly mastered the art of loving and living. She loved well and was well loved.  Friends will be received Monday, April 28th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday, April 29th from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. at CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls with Pastor Tim Forrider officiating. Vincent Paul Townley (1962-2025)

Vincent Paul Townley, 62, of New Brighton, passed away at home on April 24th, 2025, with his wife and children by his side. He was born on July 30th, 1962 in Grove City, a son of the late LaVerne (Buck) and Rita Townley. In addition to his parents, Vince was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Edward Townley and his sister, Rebecca Townley. He is survived by his wife, Tina Townley, his children, Matthew (Laura) Glover, Andrew Glover and Anna Townley, his grandchildren, Lee and Elle Glover and his siblings: Robert, Barbara, John, Mark, and David.

Vincent graduated from Grove City and then continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh Jonhstown. He began his journalism career as a sports editor for Allied News, his hometown weekly newspaper. He later took on a similar role at the East Liverpool Review, where he managed coverage for ten area high schools. Before joining The Beaver County Times as sports editor, he spent nearly two decades working with Gateway Newspapers and its parent company, Trib-Total Media. During this time, he played a key role in coordinating news and sports coverage, including leading the Coraopolis-Moon Record. He received many accolades for his writing throughout his career. Most recently, Vincent was employed at ConnectiveRX in Robinson Township, where he served as a Claims Specialist.

In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams with his friends at his favorite spot, the Corner Grill. He served several years as the Corner’s Fantasy Football Commissioner and was the winner of this year’s league.

Vincent married his wife, Tina Townley, in May of 1996. He fully embraced Tina’s sons, Matthew and Andrew and raised them as his own. His highlight as a dad was the adoption of his daughter, Anna Townley, who brought immense joy and happiness into his life. The visits from his grandchildren Lee and Elle provided their “Pap” endless joy and comfort.

In addition to his own family, Vincent and Tina fostered over 120 children over the past 28 years through Beaver County Children and Youth Services, providing care and stability to children in need.

Friends will be received on Sunday, April 27th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the J& J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 28th at St. Cecilia Church, 632 Virginia Avenue at 10 a.m. with Brother John Harvey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Vincent’s name.

David P. Rosinsky (1950-2025)

David P. Rosinsky, 75, of Leetsdale, passed away peacefully at home on April 23rd, 2025. He was born on March 7th, 1950, the beloved son of the late Joseph J. and Mary Rosinsky.

He is survived by his nephews, Terry Rosinsky and Ronald Rosinsky Jr., his dear friend and pastor, David Odrey and his many friends and extended family at Leetsdale Manor Highrise.

David was a proud graduate of Ambridge High School who furthered his education at Penn State University and the Computer Systems Institute. He spent his career at PNC Bank, where he worked as a computer operator until his retirement.

David had a lifelong love for poetry and was widely recognized for his talent. He was an award-winning poet, honored as Poet of the Year in both 1999 and 2000. He was also a member of the American Poet Society, the Famous Poets Society, and the International Society of Poetry.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, creativity, and the joy he brought to those around him. David’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Nancy J. Sullivan (Passed on April 21st, 2025)

Nancy J. Sullivan, 68, passed away unexpectedly on April 21st, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Raymond W. and Sara ‘Sally’ L. (Elmer) Sullivan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray, her brother-in-law, Brian and two infant sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Maria. Nancy’s kind spirit will be missed by her surviving family members. She is survived by her sisters, Janet L. Shumaker and Carol Babyak, her brother, Dr. David J. (Lorie) Sullivan, her sister-in-law, Angela Sullivan and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Nancy spent her life surrounded by the love of her family and the caring community of Allegheny Valley Schools, where she was not only a resident but a treasured friend to many. The staff at the school became a second family to her, providing care that went far beyond their duties. Their fantastic support allowed Nancy to thrive and enjoy life to the fullest.

Nancy found happiness in participating in the school’s community outings and workshop activities. Nancy’s eyes would light up at the mention of snacks and treats.

A private family blessing service was held for Nancy with burial in St John the Baptist Cemetery, 1270 Chapel Road, Monaca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to Allegheny Valley School. The family is extremely grateful for all the love and care given to Nancy throughout her years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.

Marvin B. Sines (1946-2025)

Marvin B. Sines, 78, of Freedom, passed away on April 23rd, 2025 in Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born in Alton, West Virginia on November 6th, 1946, a son of the late Berlin D. and Virginia Holt Sines. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth A. Sines, one step-son, Robert E. Svanda, his first wife, Gaylorrie Sines, four sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Romilda “Ronnie” (Rega) Sines, one daughter and son-in-law, Christina L. Sines and her husband Gary Hall, of Beaver Falls, two step-daughters, Hope L. and Dianna M. Svanda of Rochester, two step-sons, Brian D. Burholt of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, and Greggory D. Burtholt, of Baltimore, Maryland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Marvin was a retired boilermaker with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union, Local 754. He was an Airforce Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Freedom FOE, SOI, Unionville American Legion Post 512 and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rochester. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA. Marvin’s wish was to be cremated, a memorial service will be announced at a later date. All arrangements are entrusted to William Murphy Funeral Home Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester.

Bonavere “Bonnie” L. Milne (1939-2025)

Bonavere “Bonnie” L. Milne, 86, of Rochester, passed away on April 19th, 2025 at Beaver Valley Nursing Center. She was born in Waterman, Pennsylvania on February 25th, 1939, a daughter of the late Reverend Edward J. and Ida Mushrush Hastie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Milne Sr., her daughter, Jennifer J. Milne, her sister, Lorraine J. Coates and her great granddaughter, Olivia Milne. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Debra L. Milne and Fairfield Township, Ohio, one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah K. and Larry Helton of Madison Township, Ohio, a daughter-in-law, Petra Tallo of York, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren: Megan and Edwin Bailey, Jacob and Reverend Rebecca Milne, Hannah and Dean Brooks, and Luke Helton; as well as three great-grandchildren, Evelyn Bailey, Cecelia and Elizabeth Milne and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonavere was an organist and pianist for multiple churches. She was also a present member and treasurer of Homewood Methodist Church. She loved to bake cookies, make candy, and organize various social events at church. Her gift in life was helping and serving others. Friends will be received on Sunday, April 27th from 3-7 p.m. and on Monday, April 28th from 10 a.m. until the time of a service at 11 a.m. at the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. Interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester. Her family asks that memorial contributions would be made to Homewood Methodist Church 127 First Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Virginia M. Hennen (1959-2025)

Virginia M. Hennen, 65, of Beaver Falls, passed away on April 20th, 2025. She was born on November 25th, 1959. Virginia was raised by the late Ralph and Opal Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roger Taylor. She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Regina L. and Johnathan Johnson of South Beaver Township, Rebecca L. and Justin McWilliams of Maryville, Tennessee, and one son, Rody L. Polojac and his fiancé, Tina Aubright of Shaler Township, two brothers, Charles E. Taylor of Brighton Township and William J. Taylor of Big Beaver, nine grandchildren: Kristian, Johnathan Jr., Raina, Justin Jr., Joseph, Jacob, Elizabeth, Rody Jr., and Zachary; along with three great grandchildren, Lylah, Kairo, and Peyton, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved feline companion, Bella Grace.

Virginia was a former dietary aide at Life Beaver as well as Friendship Ridge where she retired from after her career. She was also a former member of the Rochester Free Methodist Church.  Friends will be received on Thursday April 24th, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the William Murphy Funeral Home Inc. 349 Adams Street, Rochester. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 25th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester. The family wishes for memorial contributions to be made to the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Broadhead Road #201, Monaca, PA 15061.

Richard Thomas Fink (1951-2025)

Richard Thomas Fink, 73, of Beaver, passed away peacefully on April 21st, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver with his family at his side.
He was born on August 30th, 1951, a son of the late William and Helen Fink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Smith, his nephew, Corey Smith and his in-laws, Kathryn and Alexander Ewanski. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Alice, sons, Adam of Beaver and Lance of Patterson Township, grandsons, Deklan and Mac, his brother, Russ and his wife, Billie as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews.
Richard fought hard to stay with his family and showed great strength in dealing with the challenges his illness presented. His greatest joy in life was watching his sons and grandsons grow and succeed in life. He set a wonderful example of what a father should be through his strength, wisdom and his Catholic faith.
Richard graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1969, then went on to CCBC and then Robert Morris University where he earned a degree in Logistics. Richard worked at Various logistics companies and enjoyed his career. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and Saint Cecilia Church of Rochester. He was also a past member of POST 488 and Coed Canoe Trails and Snow Trails.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their great care over the years.

Allyn (Bodalec) Stoner (1946-2025)

Allyn (Bodalec) Stoner, 78, of Leavittsburg, Ohio, passed away on April 20th, 2025 after an extended illness. She was born in Sewickley on November 30th, 1946, the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Zatchey) Bodalec. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, by her brother, Tom, her in-laws, Chester and Mary Stoner and her brother-in-law, Dave. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Chet, a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Becky Stoner, a grandson, Josh, her nieces, Beth (Rich) Geary and Ashley Varhol, her great niece, Ruby Geary, her in-laws, John and Mary Kay Varhol and many cousins.  A special thank you goes out to Evalyn for always being there.

Allyn grew up in Baden.  She was a 1964 graduate of Ambridge High School and a 1968 graduate of IUP. After graduation, Allyn spent 6 years as a Speech and Hearing Therapist for the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit.  Then, after moving to Colorado, she somehow got conned by a very persuasive Priest into becoming the Director of the Parish Homeless Shelter, which was a position she held for 15 years.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for a visitation on Friday, April 25th, from 11 A.M. until the time of a Blessing Service at 1 P.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge.  Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.
