Charles “Chuck” Verner (1941-2024)

Charles “Chuck” Verner, 83, of Chippewa Township, passed away on October 14, 2024, in the comfort of his home.

Charles was born in Beaver Falls on June 10, 1941, the son of the late Dominic and Helen (Young) Verner.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 59 years, Joan (Vasas) Verner, his daughter, Sharlynn Verner, two sons, Brian (Andrea) Verner and Jeffrey (Charmaine) Verner and his grandson, Benaiah Michael Verner, who was a blessing during his grandfather’s lengthy illness.

Charles was a proud member of the United States Army and retired from Babcock & Wilcox as a lab technician.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Charles’ special friend, Kenny, whose support and kindness are invaluable throughout Charles’ illness.

In accordance with his wishes, funeral services were private. Charles’ interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Terry Lawrence Erickson (1955-2024)

Terry Lawrence Erickson, 69, passed away unexpectedly on October 21, 2024, as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born on June 30, 1955, in Rochester, the son of the late Albert “Buck” and Eva (Hodge) Erickson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Brooks, brother-in-law, Charles Brooks, a nephew, Michael Dunn, and a niece, Nancy Jo Braund and special friends Bob Castelveter and Ralph Dixon. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Diane (St. Esprit) Erickson, his children, Becky (Jason) Antitomas and Brian (Amy) Erickson, grandchildren: Cali Antitomas, Wyatt Antitomas, Garrett Erickson, and Taylor Erickson; brothers, John (Michelle) Erickson and Ken (Susan) Erickson, sister, Nancy Dunn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Terry had retired from Beaver County Emergency Services following 28 years of faithful service.  He had worked as a dispatcher for the New Brighton and Monaca Police Departments, as well as retired from the New Brighton Volunteer Fire Department.  Following his retirement, he kept himself busy as a delivery driver for Rosalind Candy Castle and Baierl Automotive, and worked along side his friend, Tim, at Haggerty Home Improvement. Terry enjoyed camping on the weekends with his wife Diane and friends. His grandchildren were the love of his life.

Friends will be received on Monday, October 28th from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton.  A fireman’s prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 256 College Avenue, Beaver, with Pastor Ron Cepek as officiant.  Friends will be received from 10-10:30AM at the church.

Terry’s wishes for cremation will be honored following services.

Regis William Wagner, Jr. (1936-2024)

Regis William Wagner, Jr., 88, of Chippewa Township, formerly of College Hill, passed away on October 22, 2024, at Quality Life Services of Chicora, Pennsylvania.

He was born on April 13, 1936, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Regis William Sr. and Sophie E. Gall Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Helen Marie Weir Wagner.
He is survived by his children, Thomas (Cindy) Wagner, of Karns City, Pennsylvania, Regis III (Colleen) Wagner, of Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, Judy (Glen) Dugal, of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Michael (Stephanie) Wagner, of Dover, Delaware, eight grandchildren: Steven (Candy) Wagner, Jeffrey (Katie) Wagner, Brittany (Ryan) Dodge, Jenna (Tim) Fitzgerald, Regis Wagner IV, Alyssa Wagner, Laura Wagner, and Lily Wagner; ten great-grandchildren: Carter, Matthew, Julia, Ellie, Haddie, Potter, Ellington, Shiloh, Jedidiah and Shechem; brother, Joseph Wagner, of Monroeville, sister, Mary Wagner D. P., of Allison Park, 3 brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews who he adored.

Regis graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1954 and went on to work for Pittsburgh Bridge and Iron in the 60’s. He worked for B&W in their traffic department, as well as Dravo Corp. as a traffic manager, then security for the Shippingport Power Plant. He was a member of the former St. Philomena Parish, currently St. Monica, where he served on counsel and volunteered for the church’s bingo nights. Regis served on the Beaver Falls School Board from 1984-1988 and was a member of the West Mayfield Vets. Regis was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor, and friend. His family was his pride and joy. He attended as many family events as possible and loved to travel with them.

Friends will be received on Sunday, October 27th from 4-7 P.M. in CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 28th at 10 A.M. at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church, 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls.
Interment will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Richard “Dick” E. Riggs (1936-2024)

Richard “Dick” E. Riggs, 88, of Beaver, passed away on October 21, 2024. He was born on August 18, 1936 in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Eugene and Ethel (Stromburg) Riggs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Daneen Riggs, sister, Janice Davis and brother-in-law, Ralph Papandrea. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Sue Amburnsen Riggs, son, Richard Kent (Kim) Riggs, daughter, Kelly Riggs, sister Karen Papandrea, brother-in-law, Walter Davis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carolyn & Steve Kozeniewski, step-daughters: Christi (Mark) Ringer, Becki (Tom) Fontaine, Leahrae (Eric) Ringer, Jannasue (Michael) Laris; grandchildren: Jenna Riggs, Caitlin Riggs, Alyssa Ciccone, Christian Hartman; step grandchildren: Cassandra Ringer, Micah Ringer, Haley Schramm, Stephanie Schramm, Wyatt Ringer, Zoe Ringer, Mason Matteo, Luke Laris; great-grandchildren, Kyrie Johnson and Lahni Schramm, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was a graduate of Beaver Area High School, Geneva College and Westminster College, where he received his Master’s Degree. A faithful member of Park Presbyterian Church, having served as a Deacon. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a teacher in the Beaver Area School District for 37 years, and was the manager of the Beaver Municipal Pool for 17 seasons before retiring. He had a love for children and history and was able to share his love for history and mentoring children through the years as a Social Studies teacher. During his retirement, he enjoyed reading a book and playing golf with friends often. He always had a love for travel and spending time visiting family. He traveled to Sweden to see and visit where his ancestors originated. He also traveled to Florida, Arizona, California, Washington State, Alaska and Hawaii.

Robert Ray Glasser, Jr. (1976-2024)

Robert Ray Glasser, Jr., 48, of Leetsdale, passed away at home on October 22, 2024. He was born on October 21, 1976, the son of Sharon Santry Causey and Steven Causey, as well as Robert R. Glasser Sr. and Nancy Glasser. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence and Doris Santry, Diane Glasser, William Waugaman, and Norman “Pewee” Glasser, partner Christina, friend Trevor Fluharty, and mentor Scott McMillin. He is survived by his siblings: Shaun (Amanda) Glasser, Craig Glasser, Jesse Glasser, Bobbi Jo and Tyler; and son Karmello, along with Ashley, Casey, Brittany, and Blake Malobabich. He was also the nephew of Scott (Patty) Santry, James (Jen) Santry, William Glasser, Norm (Julie) Glasser, Joy Waugaman, Rodney (Bev) Waugaman, and bestie and second mom, Kim Fry. He was an uncle to Marissa, Braylon, Zachary, Calliegh, and McKenzie.

Robert was employed by K.A. Sodders and was a passionate sports enthusiast, enjoying soccer, college football, basketball, and the Olympics. A celebration of life will be held from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. on Saturday, October 26th at Marronis Lounge, 108 Ohio River Boulevard, Leetsdale. Thomas P. Halligan, Jr. (1934-2024)

Thomas P. Halligan, Jr., 90, passed away on October 19, 2024.

He was born on September 26, 1934 in Bellevue, a son of the late Thomas and Marie Halligan, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Halligan, and his infant sister. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary E. Halligan, daughter, Sandra Chakey of Marionville, step-daughter, Judy Agent, brothers, Dick Halligan of Beaver and Bob (Kate) Halligan, sister, Marie Halligan and many nieces, nephews and friends. Thomas graduated from Beaver Falls High School, going on to work several jobs before joining the Army. He served in Alaska where he developed a passion for golf, becoming very well known in the Beaver Valley for his skill. Tom worked for Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring after a long career as a yardmaster at Conrail.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 23, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a blessing service will be conducted on Thursday, October 24 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum. Marilyn Hendershot (1953-2024)

Marilyn Hendershot, 70, of Freedom, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2024. She was born on November 1st, 1953, the daughter of the late Melvin and Florence Musgrave. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, James Allen Musgrave, and her cherished dogs, Redman and Mama.

She is survived by her daughters, Jordan (Brian McKinney) and Devin Hendershot; siblings Linda Musgrave and Larry (Georgeanne) Musgrave; grandchildren Mallory, Bryce, Saige, Katilyn, Kamiya, Keyan, Kamilla, Kalea, and Julianna; very special friends Sharon Mester and Mark Sinchak; and her loyal furry companion, Zova.

She was a wonderful Meme to all her grandchildren. Marilyn loved a variety of music, from Journey to her favorite artist, 2Pac. She will always be remembered for her bright red hair and her frequent visits to see her friends at Police Station Pizza. A free spirit who always spoke her mind, she loved nature and all the plants that came from it. She will be dearly missed by everyone who loved her. Richard Charles “Dick” Louthan (1940-2024)

Richard Charles “Dick” Louthan, 84, of South Beaver Township, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday surrounded by his loved ones, October 19, 2024.

He was born on April 21, 1940, in New Brighton, the son of the late Charles and Mary (McWilliams) Louthan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Patricia (Koch) Louthan and two brothers, John Robert and David.

He is survived by his children, David Lee (Michelle) Louthan, Gary (Deanna) Kaufman, and Jessica (Dan) Baker, grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Samantha (Cameron) Jacobs, and Caleb, one great-grandson, Alexander, one great-granddaughter, Arabella, niece, Jodi McGaffick, nephew, Mike Conner and a sister, Mary Susan.

Richard retired as a quality control specialist at Babcock & Wilcox Company and had also worked for Rome Metals.  He was an original founding member of The Rev Masters car club in 1958. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.

In accordance with Richard’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no services are being planned.

Dolores (Gerner) Burlett (1937-2024)

Dolores (Gerner) Burlett, 87, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Villa St. Joseph of Baden, after fighting a prolonged battle with Multiple Myeloma & Myasthenia Gravis. She was born on February 13, 1937, in Bruin, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Ernest & Margaret Gerner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Ruth Gerner, brother, LeRoy Gerner, and sister, Loretta Slater. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa, with whom she resided, son, John (Bonny) Burlett of Economy, grandson Andrew (Casey) Burlett of Cranberry, great-grandson, Garrett, brother in-law, Russell Slater, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolores was a 1955 graduate of Karns City High School. In 1957, she married Edward Burlett and the couple chose to reside and raise their family in Bell Acres, where they remained until Dolores’s move to Beaver last year. She spent 31 happy years as the cafeteria manager for the Quaker Valley School District before her retirement, as well as 27 years as a baker for the Allegheny Country Club. A member of Good Samaritan Parish and Christian Mothers/Ladies Guild of Ambridge, Dolores enjoyed serving her church and community. Most of all, Dolores loved being with her family and was a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Dolores will rest in peace with her faithful companion Buddy. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Richard Hogan, Dr. Remtulla, Dr. Sherry & Moon Oncology, and the staff of Villa St. Joseph for the exceptional care they provided to Dolores over the years. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 23rd, from 2-6 P.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, October 24th at 10 A.M. to meet at the church, which is Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Catholic Cemetery.

Anita J. Reese (1947-2024)

Anita Jane Reese, 77, more affectionately known as “Nunni” to many, passed away in her home on October 20, 2024 with her loving husband by her side.

She was born on August 6, 1947, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Victor and Jane (Brocius) Mannerino. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Mannerino and brother, Vince Mannerino. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Reese, sister, Jean (Bob) Hessenauer, brothers, Fred (Barb) Mannerino, and Danny (Ginger) Mannerino; grandchildren, Corinne (Rebecca) Weaver, Joey Yarosz, and Seneca Fuze, great-grandchildren, Jacen, Zoey, Damaree, and Demarco, as well as many nieces and nephews, which include Colleen (Brian) LaNeve, who showed love and support through this difficult time.

Anita lived her childhood years in her loving family home in Beaver Falls.  She proceeded to graduate from Beaver Falls High School and attended Garfield Secretarial School.  She started her career at Century Bank and finished with Huntington Bank after 44 years.  At the young age of 28, she met the love of her life, Dennis, who continuously showed her unconditional love and support.  They would go on to live a life that many dreamed of.  Throughout her life, Anita showed her love for the Lord and her unwavering devotion to her family.  She was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went.

In accordance with Anita’s wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services.
