Frank D’Amico (1931-2025)

Frank D’Amico, 94, of Beaver, passed away on May 14th, 2025.

He was born in Ellwood City on April 5th, 1931, a son of the late Nick and Frances D’Amico. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Marjorie Coene D’Amico, his daughter, Linda (Oliver) Hennessy, his brother, Patsy D’Amico and his sisters, Ann Colega, and Betty D’Amico.

He is survived by his children, Glenn (Dorothy) D’Amico of Ellwood City and Kimber Lee Baker (Thomas) of Brobeck, Florida, his sister-in-law, Carol Jane Coene Reynolds of Patterson Heights, his grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa) D’Amico, Mark (Rachel) D’Amico, T.K. (Leslie) Brobeck, Jessika Brobeck (Daniel) Barber, and Robert and Owen Hennessy; along with thirteen great-grandchildren.

Frank was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War who went on to have a long career as a real estate associate broker. He was a former member of the Beaver County Realtors Association and the Jolly Boy Investment Club. He was a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Beaver, as well as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaver.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 22nd at First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Avenue, Beaver, from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m., with full Military Honors.

Geraldine “Gerry” (Lehtonen) Diffenbacher (1936-2025)

Geraldine “Gerry” (Lehtonen) Diffenbacher, 89, of Brighton Township, passed away on May 14th, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Mexico, New York on March 5th, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Bessie (Wilmot) Lehtonen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Diffenbacher, two brothers, Howard and Harvellon Lehtonen, her sister, Ruth Weldon, her son, John R. Diffenbacher and her daughter, Sandra J. Garman. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth (Joe) Tress of Brighton Township, her son-in-law, Paul Garman of South Beaver Township, her grandchildren: Joshua (Amanda) Diffenbacher, Kasey Diffenbacher, Erin (Glen) Sovich, Stephanie (Michael) Stuck, Emily (Mathew) Dunning, Nicole (Michael) Scott, Anthony (Shannon) Tress; as well as sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson on the way, her brother, Carl (Barbara) Lehtonen of Mexico, New York, her sister-in-law, Janet Lehtonen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was a self-employed beautician. She was also a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church who was a worthy matron 9 times for Woodlawn Chapter No. 164. She was also a past Mother Advisor for United Methodist Women Rainbow Girls who was active in many bowling leagues. Friends will be received on Friday, May 16th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, where a service will be conducted on Saturday, May 17th at 11 A.M. Luisa (Mariani) Rubino (1928-2025)

Luisa (Mariani) Rubino, 96, passed away on May 13th, 2025, at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph in Baden.

She was born in Pacentro, Italy on November 21st, 1928, a daughter of the late Antonio and Virginia (De Chellis) Mariani. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pasquale (Patsy) Rubino, her son, Joseph Rubino, her brothers, Luigi and Leonardo Mariani, her sister, Velia Mariani, her son-in-law, Ronald Moskal, and her grandson, Geoffrey Rubino. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Rosemarie Moskal, her loving son, Gino Rubino (Cindy Rubino), five cherished grandchildren: Kelly Vidovich (Chris Vidovich), Andrew Moskal (Miranda Moslkal), Joseph Moskal, Lauren Rubino and Tracy Rubino; as well as five adored great-grandchildren, Sara and Claire Miloszewski, Dougie Landy, and Hannah and Rachel Moskal, her brother, Pietro Mariani and her, sister-in-law Ann Mariani.

Luisa was a remarkable woman who was gentle, strong, and deeply devoted to her faith and family. Her life was defined by love, generosity, and quiet grace. Whether through her perfect homemade meals, skillful sewing, or joy in the Christian Mothers bowling league (where she proudly celebrated her best scores), she brought warmth and care to every detail of daily life.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, May 17th from 11 A.M. until the time of departing prayers at 1 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home, 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, followed by a mass of Christian burial at St Titus Church, 952 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa at 1:30 P.M. Entombment will be at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

Richard S. Kaletz (1948-2025)

Richard S. Kaletz, 76, of Industry, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 13th, 2025. He was born in Rochester on December 31st, 1948, a son of the late Samuel and Matilda Honchak Kaletz. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Cynthia, his daughter, Carie (Ken) Mitchell of Ohioville, his son, Kristopher (Rebekah) Kaletz of Brighton Township, his brother, Ronald (Mary Sue) Kaletz of Aliquippa, his mother-in-law, Dorine LaValle, his grandchildren: Tyler (Lauren Boggs) Mitchell, Drew Mitchell, Kennedy Kaletz, and Nikolai Kaletz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1967. He went on to attend Youngstown University and later attended and graduated from California University with his Bachelors Degree in Education. He worked in Aliquippa School District for 25 years and in his retirement worked with the Tip Staff at the Beaver County Court House. He was a longtime and faithful member of St. Blaise Church of Midland, part of St. Augustine Parish, where he served as an usher for many years. He was an avid fisherman and sports fan who enjoyed sitting on his back porch and listening to oldies music with a cigar.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 16th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, May 17th at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Father Kim Schreck, at St. Blaise Church, 772 Ohio Avenue, Midland. Pauline (Cocciardo) Rabatin (1927-2025)

Pauline (Cocciardo) Rabatin, 97, of Bridgewater, passed away on May 9th, 2025, at Rochester Manor & Villa.

She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on June 27th, 1927, a daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Maria (Bonfilio) Cocciardo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Rabatin, Sr., a son-in-law, Dave Hughes and her siblings: Tony, Angelo, Michael Jr., and Mary. Pauline was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son, Louis Jr. (Bridget) Rabatin, her daughter, Rosemarie Hughes, her grandchildren: Robert (Ashley) Collier, Marla (Josh Feldman) Matusic, Steven Matusic, Julia (Christian) Herstine, Louis Rabatin III, Anthony Rabatin, and Adrian Cisneros; along with her great-grandchildren: Roman Collier, Willow Collier, Theo Herstine and Millie Herstine; as well as one on the way and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pauline was a homemaker who enjoyed working around her house, gardening, and cooking fine meals for her family.

In accordance with Pauline’s wishes, all services will be private for her family.

She will be laid to rest in Beaver Cemetery alongside her husband.

The family wishes to extend a heart-felt ‘Thank You’ to the Third Floor staff at Rochester Manor & Villa for their sincere care shown to Pauline.

Ronald D. “Buckwheat” Caler, Jr. (1950-2025)

Ronald D. “Buckwheat” Caler, Jr., 74, of Independence Township, passed away on May 9th, 2025 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He was born on July 10th, 1950, a son of the late Ronald D. & Goldie Caler, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lester G. Caler, his niece, Leslie Lee Caler, his aunts, Lila Bryson and Olive Kastler, and an uncle, Sharp Davidson. He is survived by numerous family members, cousins, and so many beloved friends.

Ronald worked numerous construction jobs throughout his life. He was also a barber. He also worked for Hertz Rental Car at the airport moving vehicles. He was always the life of the party and he always said that he brought the entertainment. He was truly a great friend. He loved to camp, ride Harleys and read.

Friends will be received on Saturday, May 17th from 3-6 p.m. in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa, 2345 Mill Street, Aliquippa.

Ardith “Artie” L. McMillen (1939-2025)

Ardith “Artie” L. McMillen, 86, of Economy, passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2025. She was born on January 6th, 1939, a daughter of the late Fay and Vera Lindsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin McMillen, and her siblings, Wayne Lindsey, Robert Lindsey and Roberta Waslo. She is survived by her nieces, Michele (Todd) Weidner and family, Donna (Paul) Chen and family and Donna Kissingly, her nephews: Mark (Paula) Lindsey and family, Robert M. (Beth) Lindsey, Joseph (Ashley) Waslo and family, Andrew (Liz) Waslo and family, David Waslo, Matthew Waslo and Ronald McMillen; along with many extended nieces, nephews, and family members.

Ardith was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church, where she actively participated in various church functions. She also contributed her time as a member of the Harmony Township Fire Department Auxiliary, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Nest 1365, and the Ambridge Sportsman Club. She was known for her vibrant energy. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casino. She was “always on the go.”

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Thursday, May 15th, from 3-7 P.M. at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, May 16th, followed by interment at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Concordia Villa St. Joseph Personal Care Home for the compassionate care they provided to Artie.

Mark David Bergfelt (1956-2025)

Mark David Bergfelt, 69, of West Mayfield, passed away on May 12th, 2025, in the comfort of his home.
He was born in Pittsburgh on February 29, 1956, a son of Theodore Sr. and Joan (Phillips) Bergfelt. In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Teresa (Kernan) Bergfelt, his sons, Benjamin Bergfelt, Matthew (Jessica) Bergfelt and Joshua Bergfelt, his grandchildren, Chloe, Kenzie, and Katelyn, his siblings: Theodore “Teddy” Bergfelt, Jr., Eric (Teresa “Dee”) Bergfelt, Alyson (Allen) Kish and Melinda (Ryan) Roedler and a host of extended family, in-laws, and good friends. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Patience.
Mark was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War Era. Following his military service, he retired from Pittsburgh Public Schools and went on to own and operate Bergfelt Racing Enterprises, LLC., where he built and raced Go Karts. Racing brought Mark and Mary Teresa much joy and a host of good friends. He enjoyed his time racing, playing the fiddle and spending time with the ones he loved.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 11 A.M. at Chippewa Alliance Church, 3629 37th Street Extension, Beaver Falls, where friends will be received at 10 A.M. Pastor Dan Muir will officiate the service.

Interment, with full military honors, will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 1:30 P.M. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.

Rev. Janice M. Massey (1947-2025)

Rev. Janice M. Massey, 77, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on May 9th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born on October 17, 1947 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Edward, Sr. and Louise Edward Bell. She was preceded in death by one son, Anthony T. Massey II and a grandson, Anthony T. Massey III and two brothers, Donald and Tyrone Bell. Rev. Janice was a retired self-employed owner of the Little Lambs Fold Child Care Center of Rochester. She was a minister with the First Baptist Church of Freedom and at First Baptist Human Service, where she was a Sunday School supervisor and teacher, church financial advisor and active with various other activities in the church. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rev. Anthony T. Massey, Sr., three daughters and a son-in-law, Nicole L. Massey Moore and her husband Robert of Ambridge, Teresa A. Massey of Rochester and Kila Lige of Columbus, Ohio and three sons and two daughters-in-law, Leon T. Massey of Phoenix, Arizona, Thomas F. Massey and his wife Brandi of Beaver and Damon T. Massey and his wife Natalie of Brockton, Massachusetts, thirteen grandchildren: Brionna Massey, Ashanti Jackson, Honesti Massey, Andrew Massey, Teige Keeling, Khalil Massey, Nevaeh Massey, Judah Massey, Roman Massey, Ezra Massey, Stephon Massey, Shawn McElroy and Tynesha Lollie-Massey; as well as six great-grandchildren, Anthony Massey IV, Jessiah Massey, Nakayo Massey, Sia Massey, Malcolm Massey and Layah Massey; along with ten brothers: Arvin Bell (Julia) of Butler, Charlie Bell (Autumn) of Ford City, Pennsylvania, Perry Bell and Jerry Bell of Ben Avon, Pennsylvania, Gene Bell (Kimberly) of North Vandergrift, Edward Bell, Jr. of Ford City, Pennsylvania, Ronald Bell of Butler, Ernie Bell (Cleda) of Worthington, Pennsylvania, Robin Bell of Butler, and Mario Duncan of Ford City, Pennsylvania; including six sisters: Lucille Lovelace-Senior (Courtney) of Pittsburgh, Dianne Ransom of Newark, New Jersey, Beverly Duncan Avinger of Ambridge, Carmelita Motton (Larry) of Penn Hills, Clarissa Washington (Gary) of Ambridge and Carla Bell of Chesterfield, Michigan; and finally,  by a host of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday, May 17th from 9 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 Third Avenue, Beaver Falls. Edward Robert Bozek, Jr. (1958-2025)

Edward Robert Bozek, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 10th, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born in Rochester on October 28, 1958, a son of Yvonne Bozek and the late Edward Robert Bozek, Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia J. (McAlpine) Bozek, two sons, Eugene D. Bozek and Dormont & Kevin E. Bozek of Moon Township, a brother, David Bozek, a sister, Amy Grunloh (Howard), a nephew and two nieces. He is also survived by his beloved dog and constant companion, Fredo.

After graduating from the Rochester Area School District, Edward went on to attend Penn State University where he began his lifelong passion for Nittany Lion Football while earning his degree in Business.

He had a long and very successful career at Federated Investors, Inc., in Pittsburgh where he formed many lifelong friendships with both colleagues and clients. He reveled in the privilege of growing up during the glory days of Pittsburgh sports.  In recent years, however, he would frequently voice his great displeasure at the current state of these once storied franchises.

He was also an avid fly fisherman who was most at ease in any trout stream at daybreak. He also took great joy in sharing his love of hockey by coaching his sons’ hockey teams.

The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the many dedicated and brilliant UPMC doctors, surgeons, nurses and staff for their compassion and tireless commitment to helping them through this difficult time.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 15th from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 4 P.M. in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road. Private interment will take place at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Rochester.
