Nancy Carol Turney October 08, 1934 – January 24, 2024

Nancy Carol Turney, 89, of Beaver Falls, went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 24, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on October 8th 1934, in Deer Park, Maryland to Calvin and Dorothy Harvey.

She is survived by her son, Wendell (Kathy), 2 grandchildren, Emily and Michael and 2 sisters, Beverly Fields and Dorothy (Jerry)Gorrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Rita Martin and her niece, Tammy May.

There will be no viewing, only a private ceremony with only close family members present.

Willa Roberta Kocher 3/28/1927 — 1/26/2024

Willa Roberta (Weathers) Kocher, 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2024.  She was born on March 28, 1927, in Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Lyda Weathers.  She was a 1945 Hopewell High School Graduate and a devoted member of Ohio United Presbyterian Church. An avid bowler at Sheffield Lanes, an amazing quilter and a passionate story teller (often reminiscing of her childhood in West Virginia).  Her favorite thing in life was her family, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was lovingly known as “Grandma Kocher”,” Gram”, “Maw”, “Mammy”, and “Little Maw” to so many.

In addition to her parents, Willa was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas L. Kocher Sr in 2002; a sister Joanne Sostarich, and an infant brother: Eugene Weathers.

She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law: Thomas L. Kocher Jr. and Carolyn, Sunrise, FL, and David C. Kocher, Hopewell Twp.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Jeannette & Randy McCormish, New Brighton, and Barbara & Terry McDanel, North Sewickley Township; eight grandchildren: John & Noreen Reynolds, Kerrie Brosky, Sean & Christine McDanel, Dr. Marc McDanel, Thomas L. Kocher III & Melissa; Amy Kocher, Brittany Patullo, and Emily Kocher; ten great grandchildren; Steven, Allison, Kelley, Charles, Kyrsten, Brady, Parker, Joshua, Callie, and Willa; eight great great grandchildren: Greyson, Rowen, Arden, Kaleb, Cooper, Gabriel, Melody, and Charleston; one sister; Frances Hummel; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her extended family in West Virginia.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 5pm until 7pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday January 30, 2024 at 11am conducted by Rev. Robert Goosen.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery next to her beloved husband Tom.

Anna Kuharsky October 7, 1935 ~ January 25, 2024

Anna Kuharsky, 88, of McCandless Twp, formerly of Economy, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice House, Marshall Township. She was born on October 7, 1935, in Sewickley, to the late George D. and Anna (Zawoysky) Woodham. Anna was a registered nurse who worked for Beaver County Mental Health and the former Aliquippa Hospital. She was a long-time member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge where she belonged to the Marian Guild and a faithful pirohy worker for many years. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, William Kuharsky, brother, Nick Woodham, brother-in-law, Paul Sandrock, sisters-in-law, Betty Sheehan, Anne Opriska, Rose Melnick, and nephew, Stephen Woodham. She is survived by four children, Ann (Matt) Levin of League City, Texas, William John (Catherine) Kuharsky of Economy, Kathryn (Danny) Moore of Waller, Texas, Elizabeth (Jeff) Davies of Wexford, seven grandchildren, Joshua W. (Lindsey) Levin, Amanda Levin-Russo (Evan), Caroline (Nick) Adams, Jessica (Brian) Gressett, Cara (Brice) Hudson, Kelsey (Brad) Boggs, Kyle Davies, great grandchildren, Preston and Zoey Gressett, Quinn, Mae and Ford Hudson, Finn and Piper Boggs, Lexi Levin and Liam Adams, siblings, George (Delores) Woodham of Jasper, Indiana, Molly (John) Munk of Stevensville, Montana, Barbara (Thomas) Couper of Sewickley, Gloria Sandrock of Pine Bluff, South Carolina, Alice (Timothy) Smith of Sewickley, sister-in-law. Linda Woodham of Wexford, brother-in-law, John Kuharsky of Rochester, sister-in-law, Helen Kazil of Ambridge, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Friends will be received on Monday from 3 to 8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a Panachyda service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 AM followed by a funeral Liturgy at Noon in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with her pastor, Father Michael Polosky officiating. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Members of the Marian Guild will pray the Rosary on Monday at 3 PM and a Parastas service will be held at 6:30 PM officiated by Deacon Mark Prokopovich.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Good Samaritan Hospice.

Melanie Ann Short July 16, 1962 ~ January 25, 2024

Melanie Ann Short, 61, of Aliquippa, died Thursday, January 25, 2024 in her home. She was born on July 16, 1962 in Sewickley, to the late Charles and Betty (Byron) Foust. She was a former restaurant manager and also worked at the Hopewell VFW. In her younger years she got great enjoyment out of making sled riding paths for kids and playing sports. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and cooking. Melanie’s warm and outgoing personality attracted many friends over the years. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her twin sisters, Marlene Work and Charlene Gray and longtime boyfriend, Leonard “Popeye” Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Brandi Wolfe with whom she resided and a brother, Charles “Skip” Foust Jr. There was no public visitation. Services were private.

Walter S. Archacki 7/29/1956 — 1/25/2024

Walter S. Archacki, 67, of Aliquippa, was called home on January 25, 2024 after a short stay at UPMC Passavant, McCandless.  He was born in Pittsburgh on July 29, 1956, the eldest son of the late Walter R. & Lillian (Lewandowski) Archacki.

While born with physical challenges from cerebral palsy, Walter persevered and thrived. He proudly graduated from Montour High School in 1976. After graduation, Walter worked as a groundskeeper for Kane Medical Centers until he retired.

In 1997, Walter married the love of his life, Barbara. Their love and commitment to one another was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Walter was a devout Christian and disciple of Christ. He was a faithful member of Wildwood Chapel, Aliquippa. Walter steadfastly pursued the calling to “go and make disciples of all nations” as proclaimed in Matthew 28:19-20. Walter enjoyed his routine visits to the prisons where he shared the word of God with incarcerated individuals and invited them to know the Lord and Savior.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann “Barb” (Barone) Archacki in 2005.

Walter is survived by his brother, David Archacki (Christina), Ingram, PA & sister, Diane Kaleugher, Cortland, OH. Nephews & niece:  Nicholas Archacki, Michael Archacki (Katie), Ashleigh Musick (Jeffrey) & Douglas Kaleugher. Great Nieces & nephews:  Aurora Kaleugher, Wyatt Musick, Kalina Musick, Weston Musick, Liliana Archacki, and another to arrive in July.

The family extends their gratitude and thanks to the caring staff at the UPMC Passavant ICU who took such great care of Walter in his last days.  The family would also personally thank Dr. Maria Funair & Dr. G. Singh for their care, compassion, and friendship.

Friends will be received on Sunday, January 28 from 2-4 & 6-8PM in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd) where a Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 AM.  Committal & Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp. will follow.

Rose (Uccellini) Cindrich August 17, 1932 – January 22, 2024

Rose (Uccellini) Cindrich of Hopewell Township passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the age of 91. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that is etched in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.
Rose was born in Midland on August 17, 1932, to Carlo and Emma Uccellini. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Christine and Anna. Rose is survived by her children Carla (Kurt) Gardner, Jon (Doreen) Cindrich and Cynthia (John) Tomczak and her five grandsons, Rawley Gardner, Logan and Cole Cindrich, and Luke and Liam Tomczak. Also surviving are Rose’s brothers, John and Rocco, as well as several beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
As a mother and grandmother, Rose was the heart of the family. She and John were married for 64 wonderful years before he passed in 2020, and she left us to be with him on his birthday. Her unconditional love was a foundation for her three children, and she looked forward to her regular phone calls and Sunday dinners with them. Her face lit up with an indescribable happiness whenever she was with her grandsons. She created memories that will forever be cherished by them. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews because of her kindness and devotion to family. She knew more about football than most sports commentators, and she never met a bingo game she didn’t like. In addition to being a devoted wife, a loving mother and a proud grandmother, she was an active member of the St. Anthony Club Women’s Guild in Midland.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 29 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home, 2026 McMInn Street, Aliquippa 724-375-0496. Tuesday, January 30, departing prayers will begin at 9:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima in Hopewell Township. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Jessica Rae Douds 5/2/1989 — 1/23/2024

Jessica Rae Douds, 34 of Ohioville passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born in Beaver, PA on May 2, 1989 the daughter of Bruce Buchanan and the late Alane Bloom.  She loved to spend her time crocheting and coloring.  Jessie loved horses, she also loved to draw horses.  She enjoyed going to the beach, and was a truck, car and tractor enthusiast.

She is survived by her husband Rick Douds Jr; her two beloved daughters: Abigail Lee and Ricki Lynn Douds; two brothers: Leonard (Reagan) McElhaney and Jerry McElhaney Jr; two brothers-in-law: Michael (Ashley) Douds, and RJ Douds;  2 nephews: Sonny McElhaney and Michael Douds; her step-father: Jerry McElhaney; and 4 aunts: Tracy “DeeDee” Bryson; Dana Ciamacca, Kathy Buchanan, and Nikki Rozman; and her father-in-law: Rick (Rhonda) Douds.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2~4 and 6~8pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa. Where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10am.

John E. Klipstein Jr. December 27, 1953 ~ January 19, 2024

John E. Klipstein, Jr., age 70, went to his eternal home on Friday, January 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family in his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born on December 27, 1953 in Frostburg, MD to the late John E. Klipstein, Sr. and Helen L. Wolf. He was a free spirited person who enjoyed sharing the word of God with everyone he met. He was often called ” Preacher” He enjoyed playing his guitar, writing songs, traveling across country and making friends everywhere he went and had a passion for spending time with family and friends. He was a caring person who would give the shirt off his back if needed. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his stepfather, William J. Wolf and brother-in-law, Angelo Venanzio, Jr. Surviving are two sisters, Mary L. Venanzio of Oil City,  Sandra L. Murray  of Baden, nephew, Christopher Klipstein of Baden, nieces, Heather L. Murray of Sewickley, Lisa M. (Rob) Shay of Pittsburgh and a great niece, McKenna. Per John’s request their was no visitation or services.

Glenn A. Zorich July 26, 1946 – January 19, 2024

Glenn A. Zorich, 77, of Industry, formerly of Ohioville, passed away on January 19, 2024 at Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 26, 1946, in Rochester, to the late Mike and Cynthia Zorich, Glenn had worked and retired from Crucible Steel, and in his retirement, he worked and drove for Mansell Trucking. Glenn was an outdoor enthusiast, having enjoyed fishing, camping, and walking in the woods. He also was an avid woodworker, having spent many years carving with his wife, she would paint all the sculptures he made.
Along with his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his wife, Carole Zorich (2013).
Glenn will be sadly missed by his son, Glenn (Gretchen) Zorich, of Bridgewater; daughters, Brenda (Joe) Leport, of Industry, Mandi (Brian) Olash, of Ohioville, and Teresa (Dave) Scarsella, of East Liverpool, OH; his siblings, Carol, Barb, Mick, Michael, Lorrie, and Hope; grandchildren, Kelli (Jason) Gornak, Paul Palombo, Ben (Kylie) Zorich, Abbey Zorich, Charlie Zorich, Collin Olash, Emily Olash, Brent Olash, Hannah Scarsella, and Becca Scarsella; and four great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Everley, Atleigh, and Abella.
A Family Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.
