John Leo Wickett (1960-2025)

John Leo Wickett, 65, of Moon Township, passed away on April 26th, 2025 in his home. He was born in St. Marys, Pennsylvania on January 3rd, 1960, a son of the late Clarence & Mary Jane (Breindel) Wickett. John was a 1977 graduate of Elk County Christian School.  He was currently employed as a technical analyst by PNC Bank.

John’s life was about service to others. He was incredibly hard-working and dedicated to meticulous order. He canned vegetables to give away, shared meals, and jumped in to assist with any task someone needed. Even as he battled cancer, John was quick to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors with any home or outdoor project including, but certainly not limited to, shoveling, tiling, gardening, building, and electrical work. John enjoyed camping, gardening, and cooking. A jack of all trades, John was a skilled craftsman. To know John was to enjoy his company and sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his Vaughn family.

John is survived by his fiancée, Elaine Vaughn, and siblings, Jane Wickett, Joan Fabiano (Donald), James Wickett (Lucy). He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved dog, Moose.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday May 8th at St Marys Church in St. Marys, Pennsylvania with Fr. Tom Curry as celebrant. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Michael D. McPhee (1968-2025)

Michael D. McPhee, 57, of Beaver County, passed away peacefully with his brother by his side on April 27th, 2025, after a long battle with cancer at the Brighton Health and Wellness Center.

He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on April 20th, 1968, a son of the late Patricia Ann Rainey (Von Mueller). In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Von Mueller. He is survived by his children, his step-father, Eric Von Mueller and his wife Judith of Venice, Florida, his brother, Eric McPhee of North Carolina, and four sisters and their husbands: Michelle and Shawn McComiskey of Colchester, Connecticut, Andrea and Clay Rosser of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Alicia and Michael Byrne of Pensacola, Florida, and Marjorie and Laird McLeish of Virginia Beach, Virginia; as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Michael grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he worked as a carpenter. He moved to Beaver in the late 2000’s, continuing his career in carpentry. Michael had a unique enthusiasm  for life that was completely endearing. Even when faced with a terminal cancer diagnosis, he stayed positive. He was incredibly charming, and had a gift for making everyone feel special. He enjoyed the simple things in life: playing slots at the laundromat in Rochester, shopping at Goodwill and sitting by the river in Rochester watching the water. He spent his last months enjoying the time he had left to the fullest, and was particularly happy that his brother, Eric, had relocated to Pennsylvania to spend that time with him.

Michael’s brother and sister, Eric and Michelle, would like to thank the staff in Grove 1 at the Brighton Health and Wellness center for the care and compassion that they showed Michael, particularly Holly, Paula and Alicia. They would also like to thank several people for the incredible support they showed Michael over the last several years: Pastor Bill Blume and his wife Wanda, Charlie and Little Bailey, Rhonda Shelsky, Beth Huber, Mike Bailey, and Jennifer George.

Michael’s wishes for cremation will be honored and no services are being planned at this time.

Myrna D. Frederick (1939-2025)

Myrna D. Frederick, 85, of White Township, passed away on April 29th, 2025 in the comfort of her and her daughter’s home.

She was born in Beaver Falls on May 4th, 1939, the daughter of the late Stephen and Elsie (Walton) Koleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel W. Frederick, her brother, Stephen J Koleman Jr, her brother-in-law, Ronald Frederick and his wife, Phyllis. She is survived by her only  loving daughter, Samantha (Mike) Watson, her grandchildren: Noah Frederick Haney, Tanner James Haney( Britney), Julia Nichole (Tim) Sully and David Kindred Cain(Nature); along with her nieces, Kelli Long of Koppel and Kerri (Tom) Leiper of Ormond Beach, Florida, her great nieces, Ashlee Hilberry (Torian) and Chelsie (Dan) Flara, her great nephew, Joshua Hilberry, a great great niece, Payton Schwartz and a great great nephew, Dominic. Additionally, she is survived by her very best friend of her lifetime, who has stood by her side to lovingly care for not only Myrna, but her daughter the last several years, Jeanne Park.

Myrna was a Board Certified Optician, who along with her husband, Samuel, was the proud owner of Frederick Optical for over 30 years.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 2nd, from 11 A.M. until the time of services at 1 P.M. in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls. Reverend Thomas Whipple will officiate.

Entombment will follow at the Williamsburg Chapel Mausoleum of Beaver Falls Cemetery & Memorial Park where she will enter her eternal rest beside the love of her life, Samuel Frederick.

John DeFelice, Sr. (1938-2025)

John DeFelice, Sr., 86, of Monaca, (just 3 days shy of his 87th birthday), passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 26th, 2025 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Monaca on April 29th, 1938, the son of the late Joseph DeFelice and Mary Angeline Colonna.

John was married to the late Shirley Ann (Miller) DeFelice until she passed away on July 24th, 2020. Together, they had six loving children: the late Joseph (Tracy) DeFelice of Monaca, Lynne (the late Sharon) DeFelice of Fallston, John DeFelice, Jr. of Monaca, Anthony DeFelice of Monaca, Michael (Lori) DeFelice of Aliquippa, and Christan DeFelice of Monaca. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Joey, Brandyn, Daryn, Joccelyn, Mandy, Cory (whom he loved like a son), John, Robert, Nicholas, Michael, Kristyn, Zachary; along with numerous great grandchildren.

In his youth, John loved to fish and swim in the Ohio River. He enjoyed playing baseball, tag football and shooting marbles on Pacific Avenue with his friends. After attending Monaca High School, John joined the United States Navy. Upon returning home, he was a truck driver with Colona Thread Protectors in Monaca and shortly after met his future wife, Shirley and they settled down in Monaca to start a family.

John was an avid poker player and legend has it that he almost always walked away from the table with more that he sat down with. It could be heard almost every weekend… “dad won again!” His second love was playing horseshoes with his family. In his later years John also enjoyed playing Scrabble with his mom and sisters and was a very challenging player. He also loved to cook and do the daily crossword puzzle.

John was also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan who never missed a game.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph DeFelice, his sister, Bertha Moakley; his daughter in law, Sharon Malovich and his great-granddaughter, Amora DeFelice.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Janet (the late Frank) Parker and Anita (Donald) Regney, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with John’s wishes, there will be a private service only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.

Lillian Dorothy (Kuna) Bradshaw (1933-2025)

Lillian Dorothy (Kuna) Bradshaw, 91, of Aberdeen, North Carolina, formerly of Bedford, Virginia and Monaca, passed away on April 26th, 2025. She was born in Monaca on November 12th, 1933, a daughter of the late John Kuna and Susanna Elizabeth (Majzlik) Kuna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edgar Bradshaw, four brothers: John William Kuna, Robert Stephen Kuna, Frank Ernest Kuna and Edward Arthur Kuna; as well as one sister, Ethel Marie Palenkas. Lillian is survived by her four children: Donald Gary Bradshaw (Joan), Celestún of Yucátan, Mexico, Barbara Lee Brown (James) of Ellerbe, North Carolina, Ronald William Bradshaw (Lynn) of Keller, Texas and Jeffery Alan Bradshaw (Carolyn) of State College, Pennsylvania; as well as seven grandchildren: Carissa Shealy (Cyrus) of Lexington, South Carolina, Rachel Richardson (David) of Ellerbe, North Carolina, Ben Bradshaw (A.J.) of Rochester, Minnesota, Elizabeth Bradshaw of Austin, Texas, Gregory Bradshaw of Howard, Pennsylvania, Jeff Bradshaw of State College, Pennsylvania and John Bradshaw of Pittsburgh, along with four great-grandchildren, Gemma and Ethan Shealy of Lexington, South Carolina and Mira and Vanessa Bradshaw of Rochester, Minnesota.

Lillian attended Monaca schools and graduated from Monaca High School in 1951. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Monaca until becoming a member of Calvary Baptist Church upon her marriage to Donald Edgar Bradshaw in 1953. She actively served in her church throughout her life. Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to cook and was a talented baker who dedicated many hours to cultivating beautiful flower gardens. One of her favorite hobbies was photography, especially capturing family events and arranging them in photo albums. She served as the Treasurer-Manager of CMPEA Credit Union, where she was instrumental in leading this organization to achieve many milestones. In later years, Lillian and Donald moved to Bedford, Virginia where they enjoyed the beautiful scenery as well as the surrounding historical sites with family.

Ann Reinbeau (1942-2025)

Ann Reinbeau, 82, formerly of Baden, passed away on April 27th, 2025 in the Wexford Healthcare Center. She was born in Pittsburgh on May 19th, 1942, the daughter of the late Earl and Adele (Samanski) Kramer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth D. Reinbeau and her brother, Vaughn Kramer of Norfolk, Virginia. She is survived by her son, Kenneth E. (Jacob Hagofsky) Reinbeau of Baden, her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Lynn (Thomas) Canil of Myrtle Beach, her stepdaughter, Ada Henderson of Moon Township, two grandchildren, Brooke McKenzie & Max Canil of Myrtle Beach, her step grandchildren, Amy Staff of Moon Township and David (Agnes) Henderson of Economy and five step great-grandchildren.

Ann obtained her diploma of nursing from the Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing, where she then worked as a RN for 42 years doing what she loved on the maternity floor. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and collecting Christmas ornaments and decorations.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 30th, from 6-8 P.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 1st, at 10 A.M.  Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

Donald E. Fortune (1944-2025)

Donald E. Fortune, 80, of Ambridge, passed away on April 26th, 2025, at Beaver Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Rochester on August 17th, 1944, a son of the late Arthur Fortune and Jacqueline Haddock McCaskey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Cermak and five brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice A. (Cermak) Fortune, three sons, Richard (Wendy) Fortune, Dale Fortune and John Cermak, two daughters, Deborah (Rick) Todd and Norma Todd, four sisters, seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one grandchildren.  Donald was a water tender at J & L Steel for many years who enjoyed spending time with his family.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 29th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. in the CORLESS-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, LLC, 1133 Church Street, Ambridge, where a service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 12 noon. Donald “Don” A. Felo (1942-2025)

Donald “Don” A. Felo, 82, of Economy, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19th, 1942, the son of the late Andrew and Clara Felo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan (Kennedy) Felo, his son, Daniel Felo, his brother, Robert Felo, his twin sisters, Barbara and Rose Green and his grandson, Joshua Singleton. He is survived by his children, Dawn (Butch) Singleton, David Felo, and Douglas Felo, his brother-in-law, David Kennedy, his grandson, Eric Felo and his cherished furry companions, Haze, Hailey, and Holly. Donald worked as an engineer for Conrail Railways and Metro North Railways until his retirement. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and working on his Pontiac Fiero. He was a devoted Pittsburgh sports fan who most treasured the time he spent with his family. In accordance with Donald’s wishes, all services will be private. John Romano (1936-2025)

John T. Romano, 88, of Chippewa Township, passed away on April 24th, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born in Beaver Falls on July 7th, 1936, the son of the late John R. and Elvira Sebastian Romano. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Laura Emma Goehring Romano and two sons, William J. Romano and John Romano Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (James R.) Presto, his daughter-in-law, Debbie Romano, his sister, Carolyn Romano Hewko, his brother-in-law, Henry Goehring, his four grandchildren: Jeremy (Trisha) Presto, Tahra Presto, Sarah Romano and Jennifer Romano; along with seven great-grandchildren, his niece, Lynn and his nephew, John.

John was a jack of all trades who enjoyed tinkering with cars and motorcycles and he loved locks and keys. He worked for B&W and Koppel Steel for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening and flying his plane after he obtained his pilot’s license. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. George Vukelic (1939-2025)

George Vukelic, 85, of Beaver, formerly of Mount Pocono and Freehold, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2025, from complications due to a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive type of dementia. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 12th, 1939, the only beloved son of the late Mele & Dorothy (Ribar) Vukelic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Tedesco) Vukelic and two brothers-in-law, William Yeager and Edward Magditch. He is survived by three sisters, Helena Yeager, Dianne Magditch and Millicent Vukelic, his nieces, Georgia Badamo and Valerie Falk, his nephew, Mitchell Yeager and several great nieces & great nephews.

George grew up in Ambridge and was a graduate of Long Island University at Brooklyn School of Pharmacy, the oldest pharmacy school in the United States. He was retired from Rite Aid, having spent his entire pharmacy career working for them. He also served in the U.S. Army. He had such a love of travel, music, and all sports. In his youth, he was a terrific ball player. There was no public visitation. A private service and interment will be held on Monday, April 28th in the Economy Cemetery, 1690 Ridge Road Extension, Ambridge.
