Jodi L. Musquire (1966-2025)

Jodi L. Musguire, 58, of Darlingtion, passed away on February 6th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver.

She was born in Rochester on December 18th, 1966, the daughter of Linda (Armstrong) Smith and the late DeWayne Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Musguire, her children, Brian Koah (Melissa) and Jessica McConahy (Jonathan), seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous aunts, cousins, and friends.

Jodi was a member of both the LMBA club and the Veterans of New Galilee.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 12th at 4 P.M. until the time of a prayer service at 7 P.M. in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

Belva J. Heaton (1952-2025)

Belva J. Heaton, 72, of West Mayfield, passed away on February 6th, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Beaver Falls on August 15th, 1952, a daughter of the late Carl “Rocky” and Janet (Bonner) DiRuscia. She is survived by her husband of nearly fifty-three years, William Heaton, her children, Jason Heaton and Dawn Sidora, her grandchildren, Alexandria Heaton, Callie Sidora and Emma Sidora, her brother, Carl “Rocky” DiRuscia, her sister, Carla DiRuscia and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Belva had retired from Cambridge Village as a Supervisor and Nurses Aide. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing bingo and bowling.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 11th from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls. A brief prayer service will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 11 A.M. in the funeral home chapel.  Friends will be received one hour prior to services.

Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Marjorie Dianne Schermerhorn (1939-2025)

Marjorie Dianne Schermerhorn, 85, of Beaver, passed away on February 4th, 2025 at Passavant McCandless. She was born in Sewickley on March 16th, 1939, a daughter of the late Earl J. and Margaret Sutton Schermerhorn. She is survived by a sister, Margaret (Maggie) Schermerhorn Kern of McCandless and several cousins.

Marjorie resided in Ambridge, Beaver and Pittsburgh during her life. She was employed for twenty-two years by U.S. Steel Corporation, five years by Ketchum Communications, and eighteen years by Mellon Bank (now the Bank of New York Mellon), from which she retired in 2008. She was a 1957 graduate of Beaver High School and a 1961 graduate of Vassar College. She also took evening courses during her working years at the University of Pittsburgh and Point Park University, and earned a paralegal certificate from Duquesne University. At various times, she was a member of Presbyterian churches in Ambridge, Beaver and Shadyside (Pittsburgh). She most recently attended Trinity Anglican Church in Beaver, where she was a lay reader and money counter.

Roberta J. LeMasters (1937-2025)

Roberta J. “Bobbi” LeMasters, 87, of Midland, passed away with her family at her side on February 4th, 2025.

She was born on October 30th, 1937, a daughter of the late Clarence and Kathryn (Gallagher) White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Retta Steele, brothers, Billy and Thomas White, fiancé, Peter Mowad, grandsons, Ryan and Jacob and three infants. She is survived by her four daughters: Sharon (Joseph) Znidarsic of Ocala, Florida, Cindy Williams of Stow, Ohio, Sabrina Granito of Industry, and Stephanie (Steve) Brunning of Center Township; her sister, Patricia (Robert) Grosser of Parrish, Florida, her brother, James (Debbie) White, twenty grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Roberta was a real people person and loved her career as a hairdresser. She also loved working with the public as a counter manager for Elizabeth Arden in the former Kaufman’s Department Store.

She spent a lot of time with her family. She enjoyed eating, laughing, dancing, attending family reunions and playing cards with them. She also loved traveling. After retiring, she became very involved in the cattle business with her fiancé in Wellsville, Ohio. She was a parishioner at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Beaver.

Friends will be received on Sunday, February 9th from 12-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 10th, at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 200 3rd Street, Beaver. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery. Glenna M. Casto (1941-2025)

Glenna M. Casto, 83, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on February 4th, 2025 in UPMC Passavant Cranberry. She was born in Ireland, West Virginia on August 25th, 1941, a daughter of the late Perry and Lena Ellen Knight Pritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Leonard and Jimmy and four sisters, Marlene, Betty, Frances and Darlene. She is survived by her husband, Esker D. Casto, two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Cathy Casto of New Sewickley Township and Bradley K. and Teresa Casto of Patterson Township. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Tim, Jacob, Matthew, Amanda and Marsha; as well as four great-grandchildren: Brianne, Brett, Brynleigh and a special great-grandson, Jonathan and four sisters: Margie, Bonnie, Charlene and Mary Ann; as well as one brother, Kenneth. Glenna was a retired nurse’s aide with Sherwood Oaks of Cranberry. Glenna’s wish was to be cremated with no service. Arrangements are entrusted to William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester.

Betty Jane (Hellar) Ruby (1927-2025)

Betty Jane (Hellar) Ruby, 97, of Ambridge, passed away on February 3rd, 2025 in Heritage Valley Sewickley.

She was born in Somerset on May 23rd, 1927, the daughter of the late Ambrose and Cora (Burkett) Hellar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard Meredith Roby. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann (Roby) Berkey, son, Wolfard Roby, four grandchildren: Rob, Jenn, Chad, and Natalia; as well as three great grandchildren, Robert, James and Eric.

Betty was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She lived through nearly a century of change, yet her kindness, strength and unwavering love remained constant. Betty will be loved and missed by all near and dear to her.

William Steinmetz (1947-2025)

William Steinmetz, 77, of Ambridge, passed away at Good Samaritan Wexford on February 4th, 2025.  He was born in Warrendale, Pennsylvania on July 15th, 1947, a son of the late Jerome Steinmetz and Roberta (Schwertz) Goss. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Peter Steinmetz. He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Jay) Alexander, two nieces, Amanda and Ashley, a nephew, Richard Steinmetz and his long-time companion and the love of his life, Martha Farkasovsky.

William jumped at the chance to putt on “the green” as an avid golfer. He truly loved people, whether friends or strangers, and would go out of his way to help anyone.  William took great pride in his appearance and was considered a “sharp dresser.”  He took the best care of his beloved Martha and was a great travel companion to her as well.

At the family’s request, no services are being held.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge.  A celebration of William’s life will be held this summer.  Family and friends will be notified.

Cora Mae (Teddi) Nolder (1933-2025)

Cora Mae (Teddi) Nolder, 91, of Monaca passed away in her home on February 3rd, 2025. She was born on July 24th, 1933 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Stu and Clara Sinclair. Cora grew up on Marion Hill New Brighton with her eight brothers and sisters, MaryAlice, Jerri,Gig, Ron, Annabelle, Jack, Skip and Dan.

She married the love of her life in 1952, Dutch, and on their first dates, he would pick her up in his convertible and take her to Jerry’s. They had forty-nine wonderful years together until his passing in 2001. Cora and Dutch had five children together: Dutchie, Ray, Pam (David)Kerns, Dan/Booney & Donny Nolder.

Her true joy in life was her grandchildren: Cory Nolder, Marie (Robert)Knox, Michael (Chad)Kerns, Brooke (Rome) Riggins, Daniel Nolder, William Nolder and numerous great grandchildren. She retired from Phoenix Glass in Monaca, working in the decorating department with thirty-two years of service.

In her spare time, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling and lunch with her friends, Mary and Carol. She was an avid Steeler fan who loved the Monaca Indians and her Boston terriers. Teddi will be greatly missed by her family.

In accordance with Cora’s wishes, all services were private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.

John Rocco DeChellis (1948-2025)

John Rocco ‘Dee’ DeChellis, 76, passed away unexpectedly on February 2nd, 2025, at his residence in Rochester Township. He was born in Rochester on March 9th, 1948. John’s life was marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a passion for community involvement.

John’s early years were spent in the close-knit community of Monaca where he was raised by his late parents, Fiore and Mary (Carducci) DeChellis. He was a proud 1966 graduate of Monaca High School, where he showcased his athletic spirit on the football field. His academic journey continued as he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from Robert Morris University, equipping him with the knowledge and skills that would define his professional path.

In 1967, John married his high school sweetheart, Shirley J. Witherow DeChellis, and together they embarked on a 51-year journey of love and partnership until her passing on October 14, 2018. John was also preceded in death by his sister, Rita Binkoski.

John’s commitment to his country was evident when, in 1968, he entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Serving abroad as a sergeant, he displayed leadership and courage, qualities that would later influence his civilian career as a Superintendent at Horsehead Corporation.

A man of faith, John was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Rochester.

John’s pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Melissa ‘Missie’ (Marvin) Leonard of Enon Valley, and his son and daughter-in-law, Jon-Paul (Karen) DeChellis of Spring Hill, Tennessee. He is survived by his grandchildren, Antonio DeChellis of Oxford, Mississippi, Gianna and Natalia DeChellis of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and his grand dogs, Abby and Jax and several family members.

An active figure in youth sports, John coached football, baseball, and basketball in Rochester, endearing himself to many young athletes and their families. Known as ‘Chef Pappy,’ he found joy in cooking and baking, delighting those around him with his culinary creations. His love for M&M candies was well-known, as was his enjoyment of travel, with many cherished trips to Florida, the Bahamas, Las Vegas and New Orleans with family and close friends.

John was a man who took pride in the meticulous care of his lawn, the serene beauty of sunsets, and the warmth of gatherings with loved ones.

Friends will be received on Sunday, January 9th from noon – 2 pm and 3-5 pm at Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where parting prayers will be offered on Monday, January 10th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St Cecilia Catholic Church, 632 Virginia Avenue, Rochester. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

The family has suggested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired in John’s memory to Tunnel To Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warriors Project.

Thomas J. Michael (1947-2025)

Thomas James Michael, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 4th, 2025 at the age of 77. He was an indomitable spirit and lived a good life.

He was born in Dunkrik, New York on July 6th, 1947, the only son of James Thomas (Danny) and Mary Grace. Thomas is survived by his wife, Linda, their four children, and six grandchildren: Elliott, Owen, Beau, Addlyn, Estelle and Kinley. He shared a special connection with his nephew, Branden, whose military service was an important point of pride. Anyone who knew him holds a piece of his vibrant spirit and zest for life. As we remember Tom, we reflect on a man who wanted nothing more than to make everyone feel at home. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Thomas attended Duquesne University where he earned a degree in journalism in 1969. After college, Tom served in the US Air Force as a “wizzo” in F-101 and F-4 fighters and was stationed in Germany. He had many colorful and fond stories of his time abroad. Following his military service, he returned to Pittsburgh, where he sold radio advertising while studying law at Duquesne University, a testament to his lifelong ability to carry an argument.

He married Linda Rice in 1980 and together they moved to Leetsdale, where their home was filled with love for their four children: Tom Jr., Kate, Jed, and Sarah. The Michael home was always open to family and friends from near and far. Tom was an avid cook and his family dinners were a staple of the Michael household, welcoming all to participate in stories and debates.

He was a constant figure at local ice rinks, refereeing amateur hockey games, cheering from the sidelines, and sharing his love of the sport with his children. He practiced law with a sharp mind and often sharper tongue, blending professionalism and kindness that endeared him to clients and colleagues alike.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6th, from 5-8 P.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7th, at 10 A.M. A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 P.M. with details provided at the service.
