Joseph Mendicino (March 18, 1933 – June 04, 2025)

Joseph Mendicino, 92 of Patterson Heights, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born on March 18, 1933, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Francesco “Frank” and Elena (Puteri) Mendicino.

Joe was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. Joe had worked for Totera Vending for many years as a delivery driver.  He was a member of St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish and the American Legion Post 19, New Brighton.  In his free time, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling and bowling in tournaments.

He is survived by his significant other of more than 44 years, Barbara; his sister, Edith Namath; a brother, Frank Mendicino; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Mary Mendicino, Rose (Weido) Omogrosso, Phyllis (Nick) Pasco, and Frances (James) Boyle; a brother-in-law, Franklin Namath; and a sister-in-law June Mendicino.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 11th from 10AM until time of departing prayers at 11:30AM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Township, Beaver Falls, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish with Fr. Kim Schreck as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow at Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum.

Eric Dean Bostwick (1973-2025)

Eric Dean Bostwick, 51, of Ohioville, passed away at home unexpectedly on June 4th, 2025.

He was born in Rochester on July 17th, 1973, in Rochester, the son of Dean A. and Sue (Anderson) Bostwick. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cheryl (Glasure) Bostwick, three daughters, Shelby, Morgan and Carly Bostwick, all of Ohioville, two grandchildren, Ryleigh and Myah, his paternal grandmother, Hilda Penson, his stepmother, Debbie Bostwick (Eddie Robinson). He will also be greatly missed by his beloved cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, S. Edgar and Ruth (Popp) Anderson and his paternal grandfather, Charles T. Bostwick.

Eric was a proud graduate of Beaver High School from Class of 1991 and attended Church of the Living Christ in Beaver. He dedicated much of his life to serving his community by working as a fireman with the Vanport, Ohioville, Industry and Midland Fire Departments. His selfless commitment and courage left a lasting impact on those he served alongside. He also worked as a cook at the Hot Dog Shoppe in Moon Township, with two special friends, Dom and Naz, where he was known for his hard work and friendly nature. Eric was a loving and supportive father, he was deeply involved in his daughters’ lives, especially during their time in 4-H, where his encouragement never wavered. Later in life, he found great joy in being a grandfather. Eric cherished every moment spent with his granddaughters, Ryleigh and Myah, often singing to them with a warmth only he could bring.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th, from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. in Church of the Living Christ, 699 Riverside Drive, Beaver. His pastor, Rev. David M. Howells, will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.

Bessie J. Maola (1931-2025)

Bessie J. Maola, 93, of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2025. She was born on October 10th, 1931, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Edwin J. “Weno” Maola. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Victoria (Drew) Tussick and her cherished grandson, Drew E. Tussick, who held a special place in her heart.

Bessie enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with US Airways, retiring from there after 33 years of dedicated service. She was also a passionate and accomplished world traveler who shared her love of adventure by taking her family along on many memorable journeys.

In accordance with her wishes, her services and burial were held privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge.

Lee A. Glover (1964-2025)

Lee A. Glover, 61, of Beaver Falls, passed away on June 3nd, 2025. He was born on January 22nd, 1964, a son of the late Charles Glover Sr. and Hattie Glover-Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Darrick George, his brothers, Charles Glover Jr., Terry Williams, and Carlos Alston and his nephew, Markus Glover. He is survived by his children: Josh Glover, Alex Neely, Amber Neely and Corey Monteria; as well as his stepmother, Barbara Reddick-Glover and his siblings: Stacy (Dwayne) Odom, Charmaine Glover, Jamayll Glover, Timmy Williams, and Connie Slappy; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Lee was a graduate of Ambridge High School, who held various positions throughout his life. These including work at Hussey Copper, working as a security guard at Brightwood Manor, and working in several restaurants. He had a love for western and military films and was an avid football and basketball fan who found peace in fishing: one of his favorite pastimes.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Liberty Dialysis in Baden and Chippewa, as well as the staff at Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center, for their dedicated care.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 9th from 3 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7 P.M. at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge.

Mason Lang-Goins (1999-2025)

Mason Lang-Goins, 26, of Ambridge, paased away on June 3rd, 2025. He was born on May 7th, 1999, a son of Charity Lang and the late Ronald Goins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ron and Vicky Goins, his maternal grandfather, Charles Lang III and his uncle, Charles Lang IV.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two beloved children, Octavius and Kaden, his siblings: Deandre, Malik, Cashay, Ronald, Dustin, Maya, Kiersten, Jewel and Angel, as well as his grandmother, Vicky Osam, his great-grandfather, Charles Lang Jr., along with a large extended family of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

Mason had a generous spirit and a deep love for his children, cherishing every moment he spent with them. He enjoyed playing games of chance and playing video games. He was also a devoted fan of the Atlanta Falcons. His vibrant personality and kind heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert Watson (1962-2025)

Robert Watson, 62, of Beaver Falls, passed away unexpectedly on June 2nd, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Beaver Falls on June 19, 1962, the son of the late WIlliam Watson Sr. and Betty Ann Vogel. He is survived by his children, William Watson, Robert Watson Jr. and Karl Watson and two sisters, Doris Watson and Belinda James Watson. In accordance with Robert’s wishes, all services were private. Professional arrangements and services were entrusted to CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls.

Sandra S. Laderer (1939-2025)

Sandra S. Laderer, 86, of Chippewa, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away on June 3rd, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Chippewa. She was born in Ellwood City on January 8th, 1939, the daughter of the late John P. and Katherine Killian Shepard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan M. Laderer and her brother, Dennis Shepard. She is survived by her children, Michael (Theresa) Laderer and Beth Laderer, her sister-in-law, Johanna Shepard and four grandchildren: Annette Laderer, Benjamin Laderer, Matthew Laderer, and Mark Laderer.

Sandra retired from Duquesne Light Company in 1999. She also spent three years as the church secretary at the former College Hill Presbyterian Church. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Friends will be received on Monday, June 16th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4TH Avenue, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 11 A.M. Interment will be private at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

Peter Clement, Jr. (1942-2025)

Peter Clement, Jr., 82, formerly of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2025. He was born on August 8th, 1942, the son of the late Peter Clement, Sr. and Stella Clement.

Peter proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Following his military service, he worked for many years at J&L and later became well known in the Sewickley area as a skilled handyman and landscaper. Peter was known for walking everywhere and was a familiar face to many people. He enjoyed puzzles, hunting, and fishing. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Burial will be held privately at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge.

Keith “Bud” Heid (1959-2025)

Keith “Bud” Heid, 66, of New Brighton, passed away at his home on June 1st, 2025.

He was born in Beaver Falls on April 9th, 1959, a son of the late Paul and Frances (Byrd) Heid. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Robert and Richard Heid. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Michelle “Shelly” (Mason) Heid, two sons, Danny (Courtney) Champion of Economy, Paul W. (Carol) Heid of New Castle, eight grandchildren, three sisters, Patti Faluski of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, Shirley (Tom) Foley of New Brighton and Kim Heid of Beaver Falls, two brothers, Chuck (Susan) Heid of Darlington and Ronnie (Tammy) Heid of Brookline, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and their families.

Keith spent much of his working life employed by Valley, Aiken, and Burgess refuse companies, where he was known not just for his hard work and dedication, but for the friendly spirit he brought to every route and job. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and could often be found walking the trails of Brady’s Run Park, a place that brought him peace and connection with nature. He had a special gift for making people feel seen and remembered. One of his most cherished habits was giving everyone he met a nickname: a unique title that somehow captured a piece of their personality and always brought a smile. Whether you knew him well or only in passing, chances are Keith had a nickname just for you.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 11th, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in The First Church of God, 605 9th Street, New Brighton. Francis J. “Skip” Ribar (1946-2025)

Francis J. “Skip” Ribar, 78, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born on July 24th, 1946, the son of the late Katherine Ribar Trappen and Francis Trappen. Following his mother’s passing, he was lovingly raised by his uncle and aunt, the late Edward J. and Elizabeth A. Ribar of Freedom. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Edward T. and Mary Alice Ribar, his mother- and father-in-law, Irene Triance of Rochester, and Julius Pletz of Beaver Falls, and brothers-in-law, Julius A. Pletz and Tony Paisley of Virginia.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susan L. Ribar and their children: Richard E. of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Dana M. (Dayton) Cummings of New Brighton, Michael F. (Stacey) of Gibsonia, and his sister, Emily J. Ribar of Beaver. He is also survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Diane) Pletz of Daugherty Township, Gary (Eileen) Pletz of Virginia and Donna Paisley of Florida.

Francis dearly loved his grandchildren: Ethan, Rowan, Brynn, Lydia, and Regan, who will forever cherish memories of his wonderful sense of humor and caring nature. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and the many friends he made throughout his years, especially those from St. Felix Catholic Elementary School, Freedom Area High School Class of 1964, and the New Brighton Eagles.

During his career, Francis worked at the Pennsylvania Railroad in Conway, and retired from Duquesne Light Company/First Energy after many years of dedicated service. He was also a past volunteer with the New Brighton Fire Department and a former member of the IBEW and the Eagles.

Among his many interests were American History, particularly the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. His extensive knowledge and love of “Oldies” music was well known to all, as was his passionate support for Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers football. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp in Pigeon, Pennsylvania.

Friends will be received on Thursday, June 5th, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.

He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Valley – St. Joseph’s Parish in New Brighton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 6th, at 10 A.M. at St. Felix Church in Freedom. Interment will follow at St. Felix Calvary Cemetery in Freedom.
