John J. Shutey, Jr. (1951-2025)

John J. Shutey, Jr., 73, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on March 12th, 2025 at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born on July 26th, 1951, the son of the late John J. and Shirley Ann Shutey. He is survived by his wife, Charlene, a son, John J. Shutey III (Natalie), their two children, John IV and Dominic of Aliquippa, a daughter, Lisa (Mark) Escario of Shafford, Virginia, as well as numerous loving cousins and stepchildren. He was a previous resident of the homes at Shadow Lakes and enjoyed time at his homes at Seven Springs and Pawley’s Plantation.

Following graduation from Rocky Mountain College, John was employed at his family’s business, Shasta, Inc. in Aliquippa. He rose to become president of the company and retired in 2016. While there, he and his team were instrumental in expanding the firm to include subsidiary operations in St. Louis, Missouri, Perth Amboy, New Jersey and Canton, Ohio.

John was an avid golfer and skier and was a member of Pawley’s Plantation Golf and Country Club. He was also a previous member of Montour Heights Country Club and the Club at Shadow Lakes. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church (Our Lady of the Valley Parish) in Beaver.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 20th from 4-7 P.M. at the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third Street, Beaver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 21st at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul (Our Lady of the Valley) Roman Catholic Church, 200 Third Street Beaver. Father Howard Campbell will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Beaver Cemetery.

Susan Elaine Taddy (1961-2025)

Susan Elaine Taddy, 64, of Baden, passed away at home on March 16th, 2025. She was born in Sewickley on February 5th, 1961, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Edmunds) Gerazounis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Taddy, her father and mother-in-law, John A. and Rosemarie Taddy, sisters, Cathy Sellman and Georgianne Gerazounis, nephews, Sean Clark and Sam Hassick, as well as her special friend, Ken Parsons, who was always there for her and her kids. Susan lived most of her life in Ambridge. She was the mother of Shannon (Taddy) Collins and Brittany Taddy. Susan lived with Brittany in Baden for the last few remaining years of her life. She was the proudest of all to be grandma to her granddaughter, Chloe Collins. Susan always told people how much joy Chloe brought to her life.  She was the sister of Dean (Debbie) Gerazounis and Jimmy Gerazounis, sister-in-law to Robin and Brian Yaworsky, aunt to Tyke, Darcy, Ethan and Alivia Clark, Cathy Jo, Jaden and Justin Hassick, Buzzy, Renee, Caleb, and Anita Szymoniak, as well as David Szymoniak and Ryan, Jasalyn, and Jimmy Jr. Gerazounis.

Susan was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many.  Her personality brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered. Susan’s passing will be deeply mourned by those who knew and loved her, and her memory will remain in their hearts forever.

A funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. in Valley Christian Fellowship, 398 Route 68, Rochester. Interment will take place in the Economy Cemetery.

Eileen M. Denniston (1942-2025)

Eileen M. Denniston, 82, of South Beaver Township, formerly of Moon Township, passed away peacefully at home on March 14th, 2025 after a brave battle with Mesothelioma. She was born in Pittsburgh on December 17th, 1942, a daughter of the late John & Sophie (Guzik) Konieczny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George T. Denniston. She is survived by her husband, Harry C. Smith, three children, Dane G. Denniston of Crescent Township, Dione Stauber (Matt) of Mars and Dawn Dalena Denniston (Nick Steri) of Moon Township, three grandchildren, Leah Stauber, Lindsey Stauber & Derric G. Denniston, a brother, Daniel Konieczny (Mary), a sister, Norma Konieczny, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was an avid walker who loved Kennywood Park, Do-Wop music, the Beaver Valley Yacht Club and Ocean City. She was a nanny for many years and treasured her time caring for all the children. Eileen enjoyed mostly spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family. She was affectionately known as “Baw Baw.” Eileen’s list of friends spanned the generations.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 19th from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 20th at 10 A.M. in St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 987 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township. Private interment will take place at a later date.

Helen M. Baker (Passed on March 14th, 2025)

Helen M. Baker, 98, formerly of Hopewell Township, passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2025, at Villa St. Joseph in Baden.

She was born in Pittsburgh. Helen’s early years were spent in the bustling city of Pittsburgh, where she was born into the family of Harry and Mary Murphy. Helen was a sister to George Murphy, Mary Grossi, Ruth (William Sr.) Laney and Joseph Murphy, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Baker. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Violet Murphy and a host of nieces and nephews.

Helen was known professionally for her skill and dedication as a hairdresser. She was the former owner of a salon in Monaca, where she first made her mark in the beauty industry. Later, she continued to spread her expertise at a hair salon located on the 10th floor of Kaufmann’s Department Store in downtown Pittsburgh.

Beyond her accomplishments with scissors and comb, Helen was a skilled artist, which was a talent that brought joy to her and beauty to the world.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 19th from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. The Hospice chaplain, Reverend Thomas Whipple will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery of Aliquippa.

Donna J. Suffoletta (1939-2025)

Donna J. Suffoletta, 85, of Midland, passed away on March 14th, 2025.

She was born on December 18th, 1939, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Dragelevich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Suffoletta and her son, Danny Holava. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Tammy) Suffoletta and her granddaughter, Ella.

Donna was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church of Midland. She enjoyed golfing with her husband and listening to music. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 20th from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at 12 noon at the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 629 Midland Avenue, Midland. Richard A. Wagner (1942-2025)

Richard A. Wagner, 82, of Sewickley, a well-known antique dealer, appraiser and auctioneer, passed away on March 12th, 2025 from cancer and lung disease. He was born on September 1st, 1942, a son of the late Carl Franklin and Helen (Evans) Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl F. Wagner, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marianne (Erny) Wagner.

Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Bethany College and spent his career in the antiques business and performing estate and fine arts appraisals. During that time, he also taught antiques courses at Community College and was an appraiser at Pittsburgh’s Hidden Treasures on KDKA TV.  Richard was an avid duck hunter, collector and member of the KRA.  In his youth, he participated in the North-South Skirmish re-enactors and in later years exhibited at numerous antique and civil war shows.

He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and many colleagues.

All services are private at this time. The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road, is in charge of his arrangements.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Theodore “Ted” J. Martin (1930-2025)

Theodore “Ted” J. Martin, 94, of Beaver, passed away on March 14th, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.
He was born in Pittsburgh on November 26th, 1930, a son of the late Charles and Marie (Davis) Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann (Barnes) Martin, his daughter, Linda Kopicko, two brothers, Charles and William Martin, his sister, Carroll Mihlfried and his daughter-in-law, Karen Andrasko.

He is survived by one son, William (Katrina) Andrasko of Nolensville, Tennessee, four daughters: Laurie (Gilbert) Villanueva of Pittsburgh, Marcie (David) Hough of Chesapeake, Virginia, Kellie (William) Disario of Cape Coral, Florida and Betsy (Douglas) Kopicko of Beaver; one son-in-law, John Kopicko of Bellevue, 12 grandchildren: John Scott (Susan) Kopicko, William (Lisa) Andrasko, Robert (Lauren) Kopicko, Jason (Kodi) Andrasko, Jaimie (Justin) Dzelzkalns, Sarah (Evan) Disario, Ada Villanueva, Andrew Disario, Evan Villanueva, Justin Kopicko, Ethan Kopicko and Rachel Kopicko; 9 great grandchildren, his sisters, Eleanor Martin, Jean Babowal and Lois Martin, as well as several nieces, nephews and their families.

Theodore was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School. He worked at Mellon Bank for 35 years, where he served as an operations manager, gaining respect for his professionalism, work ethic, and leadership. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid golfer who loved reading and crossword puzzles. He was also a lover of travel, finding great joy in his vacations to Hawaii and Picton, Ontario, where he spent many relaxing days with his wife and family, surrounded by the beauty of nature. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, always putting the needs of his loved ones first. He cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering wisdom, laughter, and endless love. His deep bond with his family was the cornerstone of his life. In his later years, he embraced technology with enthusiasm, becoming a technically savvy senior citizen. He was an inspiration to all who knew him, always eager to learn and grow, no matter his age.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, March 19th, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton. Gino “Pig Iron” DiNardo (1931-2025)

Gino DiNardo, 93, of West Aliquippa, affectionately known as ”Pig Iron” and “Unk,” passed away on March 13th, 2025.

He was born on July 4th, 1931, a son of the late Giovanni and Antoiniella (DiPietriantonio) DiNardo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Philomena DiNardo and Helen D. Sildra, two brothers, Constantine “Stundy” DiNardo and Daniel DiNardo, two nephews, Michael DiNardo and Daniel DiNardo and his beloved dog, Snowball.
He was a member of St. Titus Church of Aliquippa.
Gino served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a clarinet player in the band. Upon his discharge from the Army, he gained employment at J&L Steelworks as a pipefitter and retired after 50 years of service.
“Unk” was fond of gardening and maintained the tradition inherited from his father of replanting garlic and sharing it with his family and friends.

He is survived by his youngest sister, Yolanda D. Lucci, who wrote this wonderful memory about her brother. When Gino was a small boy, he had a small red wagon. He would walk around and pick up pieces of Pig Iron that fell from J&L trucks. These pieces he would sell back to J&L for a few pennies. Consequently, his friends nicknamed him Pig Iron. The name stayed with him all of his life.

Gino valued time with his family, including his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who survive him: Valerie Waldroff, Toni Ann (Steve) Turkall, Danielle (Danny) Bozic, Della Marie (Terry) Zona, Dr. John Alan Lucci, Dr. Edward B. Lucci, Joseph G. Lucci, John DiNardo and Nick DiNardo, as well as a great nephew and great niece, Ryan and Justine Turkall, who “Unk” enjoyed spending time with, including numerous other special great nieces and great nephews. Gino also had many special friends in “West” throughout his lifetime.

The family expresses their gratitude to the health care professionals who provided care to Gino over the years. These include retired podiatrist and dear friends: Dr. Albert Nalli and Barbara Nalli, Dr. Scholleart, Nick Pertile CRNP, Dr. Sandhu, staff at Concordia Villa St. Joseph, Dr. Saleem and nurses August and Janine at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 17th from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Departing prayers will begin on Tuesday. March 18th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Titus Church, 952 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery and The Beaver County Special Unit will attend to present military honors.

Charles Albert Flook (Passed on March 13th, 2025)

Charles Albert Flook, 86, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on March 13th, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Allegheny County’s Marshall Township. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Coleman Flook, his parents, Luther and Margaret Flook, his four infant children, his grandson, Nicholas Todd Flook, his brothers, Luther and Robert Flook, his sister, Hazel Wesley, his mother-in-law, Betty Jean Coleman and his brother-in-law, James Ross.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael C. Flook and Todd A. Flook (Edward Hixenbaugh), his grandsons, Michael J. and Steven Flook, and his great-grandson, Soren Flook, a daughter in law Lenora  Gagliardi, his five siblings: James (Janice) Flook, Doris Ross, Thomas (Brenda) Flook, Shirley (Paul) Stieber and Margaret (James) Goodsite; along with his sister-in-law, Jenny Flook and brother-in-law, William Hightower.

Charles retired from Teledyne Standard in Rochester. After retirement, he continued to apply his skills at Veka Window Manufacturing in North Sewickley Township.

He served his country as a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the early 1960s.

He was also an avid car enthusiast. Charles’ passion for Ford Mustangs was more than a hobby; it was a part of who he was. He spent countless hours working on, talking about and driving his beloved cars. His enthusiasm for the classic American muscle car brought joy to his life and connected him with a community of fellow enthusiasts who shared his passion.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18th from 2 – 6 pm at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Interment will take place Wednesday at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Glenn A. Morgan, Jr. (Passed on March 9th, 2025)

Glenn A. Morgan, Jr., 69, of Chippewa Township, passed away on March 9th, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born in Rochester,  the son of the late Glenn A. Sr. and Barbara (Davis) Morgan. The fond memories of his childhood were often shared with his sister, the late Barbara Mitchell, of Jefferson Street, where they grew up. Glenn’s family circle included his stepmother, Mary Bernard, and his sisters, Marty Netherland and Amy (Keith) Monroe. His life was further enriched by his nephews Dakota, John Monroe and Eric (Stephanie) Mitchell, as well as his brother-in-law, Doug Mitchell. He was also an uncle to his great-nephew, Gavin Mitchell and great-niece Georgia Mitchell. He was also survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He and his wife of 47 years, Nancy Wilhelm Morgan, raised their son, Nathan Morgan, and welcomed the addition of their grandson, Noah.

Glenn was known as a skilled welder with Beaver Valley Alloy.

Glenn’s love for the outdoors was unmistakable. He cherished living in the country, where he could watch the wildlife and enjoy the serenity of nature. His passion for the open road was fulfilled on the back of his Harley, with the wind in his face and the sun on his back. At home, his yellow Lab, Gracie was a constant companion, sharing in his love of country life.

Glenn was a member of Edgewood Church in North Sewickley Township.

Friends will be received on Monday, March 17th from 2 -4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of services at 7:30 p.m. at Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, with his pastor, Pastor Michael Coleman, officiating.
