Virginia P. Bozek (1930-2025)

Virginia P. Bozek, 94, of Center Township passed away on March 11th, 2025 in Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Rochester on March 16th, 1930, a daughter of the late Leonard and Josephine McDade Bloom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joseph T. Bozek and Jodi Bozek and eight sisters: Linda, Patricia, Nancy, Dana, Karen, Sonja, Roberta and Rosemary; as well as three brothers, Leonard Jr., Philip and John. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Joseph W. Bozek, Sr., one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Joseph W. Bozek, Jr. and Cindy Bozek of Rochester Township, four daughters and three sons-in-law: Susan D. and Jeff Nelsen of Morgantown, West Virginia, Diane J. Chevalier of Jacksonville, Florida, Cheryl A. and Robert Huttenhower of North Hills, and Melinda L. “Mindy” and Mark Hiber of Hopewell; as well as ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a retired volunteer with Meals on Wheels where she had helped for 35 years. She was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church of Center Township, part of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish. She had been an office administrator in the former Rochester General Hospital, but mostly she was a housewife and homemaker.  Friends will be received on Sunday, March 16th from 2-5 P.M. in the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 16th at 1:00 PM in St. Francis Cabrini Church, 115 Trinity Drive, Aliquippa. Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer Associates, 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

Kathleen Regina Lambert (Passed on March 10th, 2025)

Kathleen Regina Lambert, 72, of Vanport, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on March 10th, 2025.

She was born in Rochester, the daughter of the late Russell and Frances Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Terry, Thomas and Richard Johnston. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert, her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Erik, her treasured granddaughter, Dr. Erika Watts, along with several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen graduated from Beaver Falls High School with the class of 1971. After graduation, she and her beloved husband, Robert Allen Lambert, settled in Vanport in 1972, where they built a life filled with love and shared experiences since their marriage on June 24th, 1972.

Kathleen’s professional life was marked by her compassionate service as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid, where she retired after years of dedicated work.

Outside of work, Kathleen’s hands found joy and fulfillment in the art of crafting.

Family was the cornerstone of Kathleen’s life. She was a mother to her daughter, Dawn (Erik) Watts, and took immense pride in her granddaughter, Dr. Erika Watts, whose accomplishments filled her with joy. Kathleen’s love for her family extended to her furry companion, a Corgi mix named Ivy, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship.

John Joseph Musico (1972-2025)

John Joseph Musico, 52, of Beaver Falls, passed away unexpectedly on March 11th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver.

He was born in Pittsburgh on April 15th, 1972, the son of Darlene Kay Misko Musico and the late Joseph Carmen Musico. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, John J. Musico Jr., his brother, Jason McCray and his niece, KaMya Young.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Santina Musico and John and Margaret Misko.

John’s warm and compassionate nature was not just reserved for humans. He had a profound love for animals, especially cats, which he cherished as a part of his family. In his free time, he enjoyed the tranquility of fishing and the challenge of golf in his younger years.

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 18th from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 6 P.M. at Corless-Kunselman Funeral Services, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, where the Beaver County Special Unit will perform full military honors at 5 P.M.

Interment will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in John’s name to the Beaver County Humane Society, 1900 7th Avenue, Beaver Falls.

Debbie K. Jellison (1958-2025)

Debbie K. Jellison, 67, of Ambridge, passed away peacefully at her home on March 12th, 2025. She was born on February 19th, 1958, the daughter of the late Dale and Edith Westfall. She is survived by her son, Christopher Myler and her brothers, Gary (Betty) Westfall and Roger Westfall. Debbie dedicated many years of her life to nursing and found joy in playing bingo and enjoying a cold Pepsi.

William Comby (1927-2025)

William Comby, 97, of Baden, formerly of North Sewickley, passed away on March 7th, 2025 in Concordia at Villa St. Joseph.

He was born in Beaver Falls on December 15th, 1927, a son of the late Steve and Mary (Schlac) Cumbay Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances M. Comby, his son, Charles E. Cook, his brother, Steven Cumbay, his sister, Wilma DiGiovine and his daughter-in-law, Judy Cook. William is survived by his two sons, William A. (Janet) Comby and Robert Cook; three grandchildren, Tammy, Ronald, and Bobby; and one great-grandchild, Hannah.

William was a service man at Columbia Gas and was Catholic by faith.

A private internment took place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

Irene Gianiodis Gartley (1931-2025)

Irene Gianiodis Gartley, 93, of Hopewell Township, passed away on March 11th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver.

She was born in Aliquippa on July 1st, 1931, the youngest of three daughters (Mary Stakias, Alice Valiga) and a daughter of the late James and Afrodite Gianiodis, who immigrated to the United States at the turn of the 20th century from Chios Island, Greece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Carl T. Gartley. She is survived by three children, Carl (Lynn) Gartley, Karen Gartley and William (Amy) Gartley, all of Hopewell, six grandchildren: Amanda (Chris) Coble, Kasey (Nick) Hoth, Carolyn (Zack) Iorio, Jake, Grace and Faith Gartley, nine great grandchildren: Easton and Tanner Coble, Parker, Camden, Breyson, Penelope and Calliope Hoth, Collins and Jay Iorio; as well as her special nephew, Richard (Michelle) Valiga and nephew, Jim Valiga.

As a young child, Irene attended Greek school on Baker Street in Aliquippa. She spoke fluent Greek which she used to converse with her parents, sisters and acquaintances. As children, those who knew her always knew when she started speaking Greek with her mom or especially her sisters, it was about something that they didn’t need to know about. It was an upbringing that they’ll cherish forever.

Irene graduated from Aliquippa High School with the class of 1949. She worked the counter at the Cozy Corner in Aliquippa and National Electric in Ambridge. Most of all, she was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a great cook. She was also a member of the Ohio United Presbyterian Church of Hopewell.

A special thank you goes out to her daughter, Karen, granddaughters, Kasey and Carolyn, as well as the rest of the family for their love and support.

Donna Louise Reich (1934-2025)

Donna Louise Reich, 90, of Brighton Township, passed away on March 11th, 2025 in Rochester Manor.  She was born in Rochester on July 27th, 1934, a daughter of the late Paul Dewey Triance & Rena Triance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands: George Bosworth and Charles Reich, a son, Dennis Bosworth and four sisters: Eunice Beardshaw, June Langnecker, Patricia Waters and Joan Triance.She is survived by three children, Terry & Anthony Kordecki, Charles & Joyce Reich, and Scott & Mary Reich, a sister, Peggy George, eleven grandchildren: Tony (Chelsea) Kordecki, Todd (Leah) Kordecki, Christopher Bosworth, Jennifer (Tim Hannahs) Reich, Kevin (Ashton) Yurkiw, Karen (Codi) Jackson, Bryce (Lyndsey) Reich, Chelsea Reich, Shane (Stacy) Reich, Taylor (Brayden Veres) Reich, and Megan Reich; as well as eighteen great grandchildren.

Donna worked as an office clerk for the Credit Bureau of Beaver County, AmeriGas and the Penn Beaver Hotel. She loved her family and especially loved to cook for them on holidays. She was a great cook and baker. She was also well known for her fudge. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, attending Saints Peter and Paul Church in Beaver.

Jeffrey J. Kypta (Passed on March 10th, 2025)

Jeffrey J. Kypta, 53, of Independence Township, passed away unexpectedly on March 10th, 2025.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his dearly loved maternal grandparents, Dolores and Earl Johnson, Norton Krovitsky, and his in-laws, George and Louise Summerville. He is survived by his wife, Raeleen, his children, Chad and Kelly, his Aunt Debbie whom he dearly loved, his sister-in-law, Becky (Ken) Villella of Ambridge, dear friends, Chad Lane and Greg Congdon, and his forever sister-in-law, Tammi Rock Marshall. Jeffrey’s early life was marked by achievement and camaraderie. Jeffrey was a 1989 graduate of Hopewell High School, where he exhibited both athletic prowess and leadership, lettering in football and track. His passion for teamwork and excellence carried over to his college years at Clarion University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing in 1993 and forged lifelong friendships as a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

On February 5th, 2000, Jeffrey was united in marriage to Raeleen L. Summerville Kypta. Together, their love blossomed with the birth of their two children, Chad and Kelly, who were his pride and joy. He instilled in them the values of hard work, integrity and the importance of family.

His professional life was characterized by dedication and innovation. His early years saw him shine as a youth model, gracing runways and print commercials with his charisma. Later, he served at Eaton Corporation in Moon Township for 17 years with distinction before bringing his expertise to Columbia Gas as an Information Technology Manager.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jeffrey was a man of diverse interests and talents. His love for the outdoors was evident in his barrel races with his horse Freedom, and in the quiet patience of his fishing expeditions. He was a certified rescue scuba diver master and instructor at Pitt who shared his knowledge and passion for the underwater world with many aspiring divers. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who never missed a game.

His resourcefulness and skill were also on display in the home he proudly constructed with his own hands, which was a testament to his craftsmanship and the warmth and stability he provided for his family. His love for animals shone through in the care he gave to his Golden Retriever, Cooper, his cat, Rufus, and his feathered friends; six chickens and two turkeys, who all brought additional joy and laughter to his household.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14th from 2- 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where services will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Philip Bottomley of the Prince of Peace Anglican Church of Hopewell Township officiating. Private interment will take place at John Anderson Memorial Cemetery.

Susan Davis (1951-2025)

Susan Davis, 73, of Monaca, passed away with her sisters at her side on March 7th, 2025.

She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 9th, 1951, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Naneff Madish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles “Chi” Davis, son, Paul Davis, sisters, Nancy Cindrich and Ruth Stirling and brothers, Peter Madish, Jr., John Madish and Nick Madish. She is survived by her son, Kevin Davis, sisters: Rosemary Barker of Tennessee, Shirley Shaffer of Beaver Falls, Diane Chirico of Brighton Township and Julie Gibson of Chippewa Township; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Susan was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was also a longtime employee at Citizens Bank of Ambridge.

Dorothy Mae Pierson Wilson (1923-2025)

Dorothy Mae Pierson Wilson, 101, of Beaver, passed away on March 6th, 2025.

She was born in Wilmington, Deleware on July 18th, 1923, a daughter of the late Ellis C. and Alverda Talley Pierson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Hazen Wilson Jr., son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Claudette Ranshaw III, sister, Mary Wagner and brother, Ellis C. Pierson Jr. She is survived by her son, Richard E. Ranshaw of Brighton Township, sister, June Pierson of Little Creek, Delaware, grandson, Corey E. (Mallory) Ranshaw of Tustin, California, step-children, H. Hazen (Connie) Wilson III of Berryville, Virginia, and Nancy (John) Falcone of Port St. Lucie, Florida, as well as seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was known as the “Butterfly Lady,” and will be remembered as a devoted wife, caring mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to bowl, line dance, and play cards, having had a very happy life with her beloved husband, H. Hazen Wilson Jr. Dorothy was Presbyterian by faith.
