David William Rittelmann died on July 8, 2024 at Celebration Villa of Chippewa in Beaver Falls. He was born on January 5, 1925 in Baden, Pa to Louis J. and Clara Schmitt Rittelmann.

He graduated from Ambridge High School in 1942.  In his early career David worked as a messenger for Bethlehem Steel in Leetsdale, as a welder for Curtiss Wright in Beaver and as a letter carrier and assistant postmaster at the U.S. Post Office in Baden.  He served in the 28^th division of the U.S. Army in Germany in 1950-1952.

After his Army service he resumed work with the Post Office in Baden and in 1957 he was employed in the accounting department of Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Division in Beaver Falls.  Meanwhile he attended night school at Geneva College and graduated cum laude in 1959 with a BS degree in Business Administration.  David joined Moltrup Steel, a local producer of cold finished steel bars in 1965.  He was named sales manager in 1970 and became vice-president sales in 1977.

He served on the boards of the Upper Beaver Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Beaver Falls Rotary Club and was a past chairman of the board of the Pennsylvania Economy League.  He also served on the Chippewa Township Planning Commission.  He was also a long-time parishioner at St Monica’s Catholic Church in Chippewa.

David was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Bette) Suprock Rittelmann in 2017.  They were married for 65 years.  Bette suffered a stroke in 1999 and he was her primary caregiver until her death.  His eldest son David Wayne Rittelmann also preceded him in death in 2022.  His siblings all preceded him in death; Lt. He is survived by his daughters; Michele (Jack)Baker, Louisville, KY Rebecca (Mark)Dever, Beaver and his son Eric (Cathi)Rittelmann, Hopewell.  He was an indulgent Pappap to his grandchildren; Julia Rittelmann, David (Stephanie) Rittelmann, Katelyn (Isaiah) Middleton, Jared (Katie)Baker, Michael (Tara) Rittelmann, Marissa Dever and Rachel Rittelmann.  David is also survived by seven great grandchildren: Kaiden and Kyler Middleton, Sloane, Brax, Maddox, and Colette Baker and Hudson Rittelmann plus one more on the way, David leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law Charles Suprock, Ligonier, Pa.

David lived in Chippewa for over 60 years and was fondly nicknamed “The Mayor of Birnesser Drive”.  He enjoyed all the cook outs, keggers and campfires in the neighborhood which often ended with a stirring rendition of “The Little Brown Mouse”.  He enjoyed a cutthroat game of Euchre, imploring his partners to “get the kids off the street.”  He always had a smile and a joke for anyone.  He enjoyed his life and a fine Manhattan.

Friends will be received on Friday, July 12^th from 4-8PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

Military honors will be presented at the funeral home by the Beaver County Special Unit on Saturday, July 13^th at 9AM.

Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Saturday, July 13^th at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish, 116 Thorndale Dr., Beaver Falls.

Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Barbara Jean Podbielski, 78, of New Galilee, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born on June 25, 1946, in Ravenna, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Arlene (Thompson) Stanley.

Barb retired from the Beaver Local School District and was a former member of the St. Rose and St. Ann Roman Catholic Churches.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending her time with her family.  In her free time, she could be found outside planting flowers or inside crafting.

She is survived by her husband, Henry “Hank” Podbielski; children, Terry (Kaitlyn Poplawski) Podbielski, Chris Podbielski and Michael Podbielski;  grandchildren, Addison and Tallen; her sister, Kay Ziska; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Doug) Dunlap, Christine (Jeff) Marsico, Kay Podbielski, Sue (Tom) Podbielski, Brenda Stanley, and Louie Viebranz Stanley; brothers-in-law, Phil Ziska,  Doug Dunlap, Tom Podbielski and Jeff Marsico; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gary Stanley and Jeff Stanley and brother-in-law Dave Podbielski.

Friends will be received on Monday, July 15^th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

Mark Schaub, 65, of Rochester Twp., PA passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, in his residence.

He was born on July 24, 1958, to Clifford and Helen (Rush) Schaub.

He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Veronica (Zassick) Schaub; three daughters, Maribeth Swogger, Melissa DeSalvo, and Megan Mattic; eight grandchildren; and his K-9 companions, Daphne and Velma.

William James “Weasel” Early, 57, of New Brighton passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in his residence.

Richard A. Albanese, 84, of New Brighton, died Sunday July 7, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.

Born August 16, 1939, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Teresa (Pontieri) Albanese. A member of the Concord Church in Beaver Falls, he was also a member of Masonic Lodge #259, the American Legion Post #19, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1342, and New Brighton Boosters. Richard was retired from the Aviation Center at CCBC.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene (Wickline) Albanese; a son, Richard J. (Mandy) Albanese; two brothers, Thomas (Joan) and Donald (Suzanne) Albanese; a brother-in-law, William Wickline; a sister-in-law, Barbara Wickline; two grandsons, Joseph and Alexander Albanese; also, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robbie; and three brothers, David, Carl, and Lawrence Albanese.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 10th from 1:00pm-4:00 pm and 6:00p pm -8:00 pm in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SVCS, INC.- 1133 Penn Ave New Brighton. He will lie in state on Thursday, July 11th from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am at the Concord Church- 285 Concord Church Rd., Beaver Falls, Pa 15010.

Private interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 10:40 am at the Church Thursday for full military honors.

Theresa R. Mittner, 93, entered the gates of heaven on July 7, 2024, just shy of her 94th birthday, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Born August 1, 1930, in Big Mine Run, PA, a small coal miner town, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Royac and Mary (Dudash). She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Butler Township High School, Fountain Springs, PA, in 1948 Known as Terry to her friends, she was a lady in the truest sense. She was a loving wife of 63 years to her late husband, George E. Mittner, whom she missed terribly. She was the mother to Denise Mittner Adkins and her husband Larry of Worthington, KY, David G. Mittner Millerstown, PA, Donald J. Mittner and his wife Aliene New Brighton, PA, and Diane Mittner-D’Addio and her husband Andre Wampum, PA. She was the grandmother to Dustin, Josh, and Desiree Adkins, Jeremy and Jay Mittner, Lauren, Andrew, his wife Jocelyn and Alexander Mittner, and Adrianna D’Addio. The great-grandmother to seven wonderful great-grandchildren, in addition, she is survived by her best friend since seventh grade, Kitty Gorman, who will truly miss her. Terry was a very supportive mother and grandmother. She rarely missed an event that her children and grandchildren participated in and was quick to volunteer and help out when needed. In 1975, she was the President of the New Brighton Band Parents. In 1980, she was the President of the New Brighton Football Mothers. After being a stay-at-home mom and raising her four children, she became a stellar salesperson at Kaufmann’s and Fashion Bug and always greeted everyone with a genuine smile. However, she was known most for her feistiness and facial expressions. Soon after, she retired to care for her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. Terry was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Mittner; her parents, her mother-in-law, Mildred Mittner; her granddaughter, Stephanie M. Mittner; her sisters, Helen Rutkousky, Anna Yushock, and Mary Weinreich; and her brothers, Charles Medrick, Michael Medrick, and Andrew Medrick. Terry was an Our Lady of the Valley Parish church member, where she enjoyed Wednesday night Bingo for years. The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice, specifically Sara, Heather, and Pastor Don, for their generous care and her caretakers, Lisa, Donna, and Dee. Terry was truly loved by all who knew her. She never failed to make people laugh, even in her final moments. The Mittner children are at peace knowing their parents are together and dancing with the angels. Friends will be received Friday, July 12, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton, PA. Prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Parish (Holy Family Church), Seventh Avenue, New Brighton. Interment will follow in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton, where she will be laid to rest with her husband George. Tina Kamicker, 51, of New Brighton died Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Born February 27, 1973, in Akron, Oh, a daughter of Charlotte (Wagner) Fleming and the late Roger Burchell.  She loved being an aunt, loved her in-laws like siblings, and she had a passion for Rock Music.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gregory Kamicker

Tina is survived by her wife, Faith Kamicker; three daughters, Destiny (Joel) Stoner, Alisha Whelan, Brittany Whelan (James Kamicker); an aunt, Linda Bauer.  Also surviving her is her favorite uncle Mark Wagner (Jun).

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the New Brighton Croatian Club, starting at Noon.

Nancy C. (Netherland) Gibbs, 93, of Beaver, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Heritage Valley – Beaver.

Born on February 5, 1931, in Beaver, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Boyd) Netherland.

Nancy had been a Pre-School Assistant at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver for many years.  She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish.  In her free time, Nancy was known to be immersed in a good book, taking her dog for walks around town, and volunteering at the Beaver Library.  She was also a talented artist, sharing her work with those she loved.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy L. Gibbs; and her siblings, George Netherland, William Netherland, and Christy Netherland.

She is survived by her daughters, Christie Denillo, Stacie Gibbs, Pamela (Greg) Richmond, and Carie (Steve Nemec) Booher; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 9th from 6-8PM at the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third St., Beaver.

Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 200 Third Street, Beaver, with Fr. Howard Campbell as celebrant.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with her beloved husband.
