Lola F. Baich (January 9, 1938 – June 15, 2024)

Lola F. Baich, of Boca Raton, FL., passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Good Samaritan Hospice Care, Beaver Medical Center. Born on January 9, 1938, in East Liverpool, OH, she was the daughter of the late Santiago “Jimmy” and Mildred “Milka” (Kosanovich) Lona. Lola was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Midland, PA, and after graduation, she worked for the Fourth Street School in Midland.
Lola was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph M. Baich. Along with her husband, Lola was preceded in death by her brothers Milan “Fatso” Lona, Michael Lona, and Steve Lona. She was a faithful member of Saint Lucy Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida, where she made numerous friends. Lola was a resident of the Yacht and Racquet Club of Boca Raton for the last 40 years and loved playing tennis, enjoyed shopping, a good margarita, and was an avid Steeler fan.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family members Lawrence “ChaCho” (Nancy) Lona, Midland, PA; John (Collette) Lona, Delray Beach, Florida; Maria (John) Caruso, Crescent Twp., PA; and Theresa M. Lona, Midland, PA. Lola will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews who called her their “Tia Dee Dee.” Private services were held at Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home in Midland, PA. Lola was laid to rest in the Beaver Cemetery next to her loving husband. Donations may be made in Lola’s name to a charity of your choice. Janet (DeBona) Frishman (June 2, 1942 – June 15, 2024)

Janet (DeBona) Frishman, 82, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born on June 2, 1942, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso J. and Anna Marie (Sladavic) DeBona.

Janet retired following 30 years of service from Electrolux, working her way up from door-to-door sales, Branch Manager, as well as District Manager; where she traveled all over the Pittsburgh Region, Western PA, Ohio, and West Virginia to serve her faithful customers.  She was incredibly proud of her children, often talking about them with her circle of friends.  Janet supported her grandson as a Diplomat at the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, helping raise money for diabetes research.  A favorite pastime of Janet’s was playing cards with her card club friends both in Pittsburgh and Altoona and created long lasting friendships from those great groups of friends.  Janet enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach, especially Hilton Head Island, attending all the extended family’s sporting events, and the traditional meals she cooked with her kids for the holidays.

She is survived by her twin children; son, Scott Frishman and his wife Paula (Dillig); daughter, Lisa (Frishman) Treese and her husband, Craig; grandsons, Tyler, Dylan, and Zachary Treese; a sister-in-law, Eunice Frishman Barrett; brother-in-law, Edward Stedina; five nieces, two nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her sisters, Marlene (DeBona) Fubio and her husband Anthony and Regina Stedina; and a brother, Robert DeBona.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 21st from 10AM until time of departing prayers at 11:30AM at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following visitation at 12 Noon at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish, 116 Thorndale Dr., Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Donald Michael “Don” Sebecic (April 24, 1963 – June 14, 2024)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald “Don” Michael Sebecic, beloved husband of Laura (Peel) Sebecic.  Don passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024.

Born April 24, 1963, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Donald Sebecic and Sally (Barr) Sebecic. 

Don worked at Bath Fitters for the past 22 years. One of Don’s favorites past times was fishing, having been a member of the Zelienople Sportsman Club. He loved going to the beach, spending time with his family, building and creating things with his sons, and had a passion for telling dad jokes, every time he got the chance. Don attended Victory Family Church in Cranberry, PA, where he grew his faith.

In addition to his loving wife of 28 years, he is survived by his two sons, Adam Micheal Hawley (Allison Wolfe) and Jason Nicholas Sebecic and his fiancé Aleah Belczyk; his aunt and uncle, Mary Ann and John Buffington; and his cousin, John (Mindy) Buffington. Additionally, he held a special place in his heart for John and Mindy’s children, whom he thought of as nephews- Drew, Henry and Ethan. As well as his sister and brothers; Tina, Michael, and Kevin Sebecic. And many cherished friends.

All services were private.

Carol Anita (Bova) Yoko

On June 15th, 2024, Carol Anita (Bova) Yoko 81, of Beaver, PA, the beloved wife of Allan Yoko for over 40 years, peacefully went to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. She was born in Dayton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Nick and Willa Mae Bova. In addition to her parents she was reunited with her loving family that preceded her in death. A sister that passed away at birth, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gaze and Irma Yoko, a brother-in-law Chuck Yoko and a sister-in-law Karen Yoko in addition to other family members and friends.
Surviving Carol is her husband Allan Yoko. Two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Richard Yoko, Gary and Kathy Yoko and Donna Yoko, many loving nieces and nephews from the Yoko family and numerous cousins.
Carol and Allan formerly lived in  Dayton, OH. While living there, Carol was an employee of General Motors for 30 years working as an Executive Secretary until her retirement. For almost 10 years after Carol retired, she and Allan volunteered and served with an International Ministry and as Prayer Counselors for a large local church in Columbus, OH. They eventually moved from Ohio and settled to Beaver, PA. They made new friends and enjoyed the community.
Their Christian faith led them to serve as members of a prayer team for another international ministry organization. Carol loved playing golf with Allan, watching PGA Golf on television and dining out at their favorite restaurants. Carol and Allan lived a very joyous life together as dedicated Christians.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 10:00 am until time of Christian service at 12 noon in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Carol will be dearly missed. She has left a Christian legacy and wealth of memories that her beloved husband Allan, and family members will carry as treasures in their hearts until they meet again in heaven with Jesus.

Evelyn Piroli (July 28, 1929 – June 15, 2024)

Evelyn Bologna Piroli passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024. She was born July 28,1929 in the Plan 11 section of Aliquippa, PA, the youngest child of Antonio and Loretta (Cello) Bologna.
She was married for 73 years to Gino Piroli and was a loving wife and mother to her family. She was an excellent gardener with a gift for art, but her greatest talent was in creating extraordinary meals. Anyone who was fortunate enough to sit at her table and partake in her classic Italian dishes, as well as more elaborate creations, walked away thankful and amazed.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her 6 siblings Dominica (Mamie) Delisio, Victoria (Dede) Basile, Fred, Alfred (Buck), Mary Ramuno, and James (Jinx). She is survived by her children Edward (Patricia) Piroli, Concetta (David Rutherford) Piroli, and Dave (Patti) Piroli, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Chayce Baker for the love and care given to Evelyn, along with Dr. Ashwini Gandhe, the staffs at Concordia Home Health Nurses and Concordia Villa St. Joseph, and Gateway Hospice staff.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10:30 am until time of departing prayers at 11:30 am in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home, Aliquippa, PA. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12 noon at Saint Titus Church. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made if desired, to Aliquippa Library in memory of Evelyn.

 

Gloris June (Adkins) Beitsch (May 5, 1942 – June 15, 2024)

Gloris June Beitsch, 82, of New Brighton passed away in her home on Saturday June 15, 2024.

Born May 5, 1942, in Laurel Creek, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John and Madalyn (Bryant) Adkins.

She is survived and will be missed by her sister Carol Copper, her loving companion Dave Tritinger, son Thomas Young, granddaughters Amber (Kenneth) Richard, Sadie House, and great grandchildren, Brigette, Cain, Ben, and Alice, who held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Job Beitsch, sisters Betty and Lorraine, brothers Bobby and Howard, daughter Kathy, and son Harvey.

Gloris loved traveling with her companion Dave, and shared an interest in playing bingo with her close friends.  She cherished the times she had spent with her granddaughters and beloved great grandchildren and took great pleasure in seeing them grow.  Known for her toughness and her big heart, Gloris touched the lives of those around her with kindness.  She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  May she rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished in our hearts.

Friends will be welcomed Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, and Saturday from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 10am, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, with Pastor Michael Bailey officiating.

Martha Welling (October 2, 1945 – June 15, 2024)

Martha Welling, 78, of Baden, passed away on June 15, 2024. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Morock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thomas Pipchok. Surviving is her husband, Glenn Welling, children, Glenn Alan (Tracy) Welling, Sherry Lynn Pipchok, grandchild, Alex Jacob Welling, and her furry companion, Violet. Martha loved visiting the casino, playing scratch-off tickets, and being around animals. She was a dedicated Elvis fan and cherished the time she spent with her loving family As per her wishes services are private. Patrick Michael Sherin (September 15, 1942 ~ June 13, 2024)

Patrick M. Sherin (81) of Baden passed away peacefully while in the arms of his loving wife Dian on June 13, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospice House located in Wexford, PA.  He was born September 15, 1942 in Beaver Falls, PA to James J. Sherin and Ruth (Kelbaugh) Sherin Householder.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his son Jeffery B. Sherin and his stepfather George H. Householder.

He graduated from New Brighton High School in 1960.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 through 1964.  He attended the University of Texas and graduated from Geneva College in 1971.  During his career he was the Wage Tax Collector for the City of Beaver Falls, owner of the Sherin Agency.  He was a founding Director of Medic Rescue where he held various Board and Corporate Positions.  Prior to his retirement he was President of Group Management and Consulting and a member of the Board of Directors of Medic Rescue.  He was involved in a number of other businesses and sat on numerous non-profit organization boards of directors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Dian, two children and their families and three step children and their families:  his daughter Christine (Anthony) Parisi and children Andrew and Megan Bever, his son Jesse (Lisa) Sherin and their children Emelia and Connor (Kelsi) and their daughter Lenna, Lisa (Timothy) Kovach and their children Madisyn, Lydia and Mason, Geoffrey (Amy) Lusty and their children Ethan and Molly, and Gregory (Shelli) Lusty and their children Ashton and Alex.  He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, George Householder (Gloria), James Sherin, Ruthanne Carter and sister-in-law Debbie Kopchick.

Friends will be received at the Hill Kunselman Funeral Home, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA on Monday June 17, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  A final viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and a service will follow at Baden Methodist Church located at 420 Dippold Avenue Baden, PA 15005 at 12:00 PM.

Interment will follow at the Beaver Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Cancer and Heart Association of Beaver County.

Leo Hegner (December 26, 1940 ~ June 11, 2024)

Leo Hegner, 83, of Chippewa Township died Tuesday June 11, 2024 in his home.

Margaret Lorraine (Redpath) Keith (3/23/1928 — 6/10/2024)

Margaret Lorraine (Redpath) Keith, 96, of Moon Twp., died on June 10, 2024 in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.  She was born in Milton, Massachusetts on March 23, 1928 the daughter of the late Chesleigh & Annie (Gray) Redpath.

Lorraine received her BA from Simmons College in Boston. She retired from Moon Area School District as a secretary in 1993.

Having an extremely generous nature, she volunteered her time helping friends in addition to donating time with various organizations including Moon Library, West Hills Food Pantry, and at Apple Blossom Memory Care.

Lorraine was a long-term member of Sharon Presbyterian Church, MASCA, Moon Area AARP, RUAEA (Retired United Airlines Employee Association).

Lorraine enjoyed her crossword puzzles, bowling, reading, gardening, hockey, socializing with friends, spending time with her family and loved to swim.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Walter Keith in 1988. A granddaughter, Jennifer Smith; a sister, Audrey Redpath and nephew Rick Redpath.

She is survived by her four children:  Deb Bennett (Jeff), NE; Dave Keith (Kim), WA; Brian Keith WA; Shelley Smith (Jeff), Hopewell Twp.  Eight grandchildren, Justin Bennett (Amy), KS; Christina Bennett, CA; Megan Nunns (Rob), NE; Brandon (RuthAnn), WA; Andy Keith (Chelsea), CA; Clara Brown (Jake), VA, William Smith (Brittany), Fl and Steven Smith, Hopewell, 12 great grandchildren and another on the way.

A memorial service will be held at the Sharon Community Presbyterian Church, Moon Twp. on Saturday June 15th at 11 AM.   Private interment will take place at Sewickley Cemetery, Sewickley, PA.
