Mark David Bergfelt (1956-2025)

Mark David Bergfelt, 69, of West Mayfield, passed away on May 12th, 2025, in the comfort of his home.
He was born in Pittsburgh on February 29, 1956, a son of Theodore Sr. and Joan (Phillips) Bergfelt. In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Teresa (Kernan) Bergfelt, his sons, Benjamin Bergfelt, Matthew (Jessica) Bergfelt and Joshua Bergfelt, his grandchildren, Chloe, Kenzie, and Katelyn, his siblings: Theodore “Teddy” Bergfelt, Jr., Eric (Teresa “Dee”) Bergfelt, Alyson (Allen) Kish and Melinda (Ryan) Roedler and a host of extended family, in-laws, and good friends. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Patience.
Mark was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War Era. Following his military service, he retired from Pittsburgh Public Schools and went on to own and operate Bergfelt Racing Enterprises, LLC., where he built and raced Go Karts. Racing brought Mark and Mary Teresa much joy and a host of good friends. He enjoyed his time racing, playing the fiddle and spending time with the ones he loved.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 16th from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 11 A.M. at Chippewa Alliance Church, 3629 37th Street Extension, Beaver Falls, where friends will be received at 10 A.M. Pastor Dan Muir will officiate the service.

Interment, with full military honors, will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 1:30 P.M. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.

Rev. Janice M. Massey (1947-2025)

Rev. Janice M. Massey, 77, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on May 9th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born on October 17, 1947 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Edward, Sr. and Louise Edward Bell. She was preceded in death by one son, Anthony T. Massey II and a grandson, Anthony T. Massey III and two brothers, Donald and Tyrone Bell. Rev. Janice was a retired self-employed owner of the Little Lambs Fold Child Care Center of Rochester. She was a minister with the First Baptist Church of Freedom and at First Baptist Human Service, where she was a Sunday School supervisor and teacher, church financial advisor and active with various other activities in the church. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rev. Anthony T. Massey, Sr., three daughters and a son-in-law, Nicole L. Massey Moore and her husband Robert of Ambridge, Teresa A. Massey of Rochester and Kila Lige of Columbus, Ohio and three sons and two daughters-in-law, Leon T. Massey of Phoenix, Arizona, Thomas F. Massey and his wife Brandi of Beaver and Damon T. Massey and his wife Natalie of Brockton, Massachusetts, thirteen grandchildren: Brionna Massey, Ashanti Jackson, Honesti Massey, Andrew Massey, Teige Keeling, Khalil Massey, Nevaeh Massey, Judah Massey, Roman Massey, Ezra Massey, Stephon Massey, Shawn McElroy and Tynesha Lollie-Massey; as well as six great-grandchildren, Anthony Massey IV, Jessiah Massey, Nakayo Massey, Sia Massey, Malcolm Massey and Layah Massey; along with ten brothers: Arvin Bell (Julia) of Butler, Charlie Bell (Autumn) of Ford City, Pennsylvania, Perry Bell and Jerry Bell of Ben Avon, Pennsylvania, Gene Bell (Kimberly) of North Vandergrift, Edward Bell, Jr. of Ford City, Pennsylvania, Ronald Bell of Butler, Ernie Bell (Cleda) of Worthington, Pennsylvania, Robin Bell of Butler, and Mario Duncan of Ford City, Pennsylvania; including six sisters: Lucille Lovelace-Senior (Courtney) of Pittsburgh, Dianne Ransom of Newark, New Jersey, Beverly Duncan Avinger of Ambridge, Carmelita Motton (Larry) of Penn Hills, Clarissa Washington (Gary) of Ambridge and Carla Bell of Chesterfield, Michigan; and finally,  by a host of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday, May 17th from 9 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 Third Avenue, Beaver Falls. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester. Arrangements have been entrusted to the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. 

Edward Robert Bozek, Jr. (1958-2025)

Edward Robert Bozek, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 10th, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born in Rochester on October 28, 1958, a son of Yvonne Bozek and the late Edward Robert Bozek, Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia J. (McAlpine) Bozek, two sons, Eugene D. Bozek and Dormont & Kevin E. Bozek of Moon Township, a brother, David Bozek, a sister, Amy Grunloh (Howard), a nephew and two nieces. He is also survived by his beloved dog and constant companion, Fredo.

After graduating from the Rochester Area School District, Edward went on to attend Penn State University where he began his lifelong passion for Nittany Lion Football while earning his degree in Business.

He had a long and very successful career at Federated Investors, Inc., in Pittsburgh where he formed many lifelong friendships with both colleagues and clients. He reveled in the privilege of growing up during the glory days of Pittsburgh sports.  In recent years, however, he would frequently voice his great displeasure at the current state of these once storied franchises.

He was also an avid fly fisherman who was most at ease in any trout stream at daybreak. He also took great joy in sharing his love of hockey by coaching his sons’ hockey teams.

The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the many dedicated and brilliant UPMC doctors, surgeons, nurses and staff for their compassion and tireless commitment to helping them through this difficult time.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 15th from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 4 P.M. in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road. Private interment will take place at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Rochester.

James E. Hinzy (1937-2025)

James E. Hinzy, 87, of Bridgewater, passed away on May 8th, 2025, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

He was born in Stoystown, Pennsylvania on October 24th, 1937, a son of the late Homer and Bessie (Pyle) Hinzy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Homer Jr., Carl, Ted, Rick, and Daniel; as well as his sisters: Mary “Midge” Phillippi, Dwella “Sis” Saylor, Sharon “Kate” Dunn, Darlene Lytle and Delores Hinzy. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary (Lehman) Hinzy, a daughter, Beth (Eric) Morgan of Kailua, Hawaii, a grandson, Cameron “CJ” Morgan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his brothers: David Hinzy, Harry (Cathy) Hinzy, Larry (Connie) Hinzy and John (Mag) Hinzy; as well as a sister, Jackie Magruder and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

James proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his time in the Army, he began a long and successful career in the steel industry beginning at General Alloy and Casting and eventually retiring as a machinist from the Damascus Steel Company. He was a devoted member of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, serving as a lifetime member. His service to the community extended beyond his professional and military life. He was always ready to lend a hand and support those around him. In his free time, James found joy in the outdoors where he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th, at the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton. Family and friends will be received that same day starting at 10 A.M. and the service will begin at 11 A.M. Rev. Gary Hilton will officiate the service.  A reception will follow at the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations may be made to the Bridgewater Fire Department in James’ memory.
His wishes were to be cremated and be buried in Sipesville Cemetery of Somerset, Pennsylvania.

Regina Marie Blinn (1952-2025)

Regina Marie Blinn, 73, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on May 9th, 2025 in Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born in New Brighton on March 24th, 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Blinn. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Christa M. and Paul Castelli of New Brighton and one son and daughter-in-law, Steven M. and Sherrie Blinn of Freedom, five grandchildren: Annamarie Price and her husband Mike, Emily Castelli and Marissa Castelli, John H. Blinn and Evan L. Blinn; as well as her special cousins Earl and Deb Durr and beloved friends Kathy Sourbeer and Linda Skiles.

Regina was a retired production manager with American Eagle. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rochester. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Pack Leader, Den Mother and was on many other Scout committees. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 14th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the William Murphy Funeral Home Inc., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. A service will be held on Thursday, May 15th at 11 A.M. in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 393 Adams Street, Rochester. Pastor Bill Steel will be officiating the service. Internment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, 1101 9th Street Extension, Freedom. Leslie M. Grimm (1964-2025)

Leslie M. Grimm, 60, of Rochester, passed away on May 7th, 2025, at Heritage Valley Beaver after a battle with cancer.

She was born in Beaver Falls on November 13th, 1964, a daughter of the late Edwin “Pete” and Rose M. Vigosky Grimm. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David. She is survived by her sister, Julie Grimm of Rochester and her sister-in-law, Elissa Grimm of Maryland, along with numerous cousins.

Leslie was a 1982 graduate of Rochester High School who worked as a delivery person with a local media company. She was very active with her church, Bridgewater Presbyterian Church of Beaver. She was involved in everything and she will be remembered as a long-time deacon and music leader for services.

Professional arrangements have been entrusted to the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver. There will be a memorial service officiated by her pastor, David Champ on Thursday, May 15th at 11 a.m. at Bridgewater Presbyterian Church of Beaver.

Donald Ray Leichliter (1960-2025)

Donald Ray Leichliter, 64, of Center Township, passed away on May 8th, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospice House. He was born in Aliquippa on May 9th, 1960, a son of the late Melvin and Phyllis Leichliter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his family members: John D. McWilliams, John D. McWilliams Jr.; Greg McWilliams, Gary Mineard and Donald Morris. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Leichliter, his daughter and son-in-law, Hannah & Rob Gould of Center Township, his siblings: Evelyn McWilliams, Sharon “Sis” Mineard, Wayne (Donna) Leichliter, David (Sheila) Leichliter and Kathy (Randy) McConnell; along with a sister-in-law, Kathleen Doolan-Morris, his Godson, Jeff Leichliter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald retired from Menzies Aviation as a Supervisor. He was an outdoorsman who loving hunting, fishing, and camping. He truly just loved being in nature.

Mary Ann Szymoniak (1945-2025)

Mary Ann Szymoniak, 79, of Franklin Park, formerly of Economy Borough, passed away on May 9th, 2025, in Concordia of Franklin Park.

She was born in Pittsburgh on July 24th, 1945, a daughter of the late John and Mary Mihelic Vlasic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Szymoniak Jr., a brother, Eugene Vlasic, and a sister, Isabel Caul. She is survived by her two daughters, Debby (Bob) Scheib and Alison (Fredrick) Nilsson, four grandchildren, Evan & Aaron Scheib and Emily & Owen Nilsson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann was an Ambridge High School Class of 1963 graduate and was on the reunion committee. She was proud of being a AGH Nursing Alumni and worked at the Medical Center of Beaver as a nurse. She enjoyed going to car cruises and the Outer Banks with her husband.

Friends will be received on Monday, May 12th from 4-8 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered on Tuesday, May 13th at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in the Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.

Angela P. Pizzuti (1948-2025)

Angela P. Pizzuti, 76, of Vanport Township, passed away with her family at her side on May 7th, 2025. She was born on November 12th, 1948, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose “Rosie” Pizzuti. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Connor Clendenning, and her special aunt, Antoinette Pizzuti Baker. She is survived by her sister, Vicky Clendenning of Vanport Township, her caregiver and nurse for over four years, Kimberly Moore of Vanport Township, and many friends and family members.

Angela was a faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Church of Beaver, part of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. In her earlier years, she loved working with children as an assistant at a daycare. She also spent time working at Goodwill and at the Beaver County Rehabilitation Center. Angela was also Bret Michaels’ biggest fan.

David George Osman (1948-2025)

David George Osman, 76, passed away at Heritage Valley Beaver on May 7th, 2025 surrounded by his family after a short illness. He was born on November 23rd, 1948, a son of the late George and Laura (Altsman) Osman. He is survived by his brothers, Lawrence (Sherry) Osman and Michael (Nancy) Osman, four children: Wende (Demir) Dikec, Sean (Darla) Smilek, Christine (Jon Hermansderffer) Osman and Torri (Ron Thompson) Osman; as well as seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

David was a lifelong resident of Beaver Falls. Although he faced many challenges, David’s faith in God and love for his family never wavered. David’s family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Valley for the excellent care they provided to him. They would also like to thank his caregiver, Ruth, for helping him during the final years of his life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.
