John L. Yeager (1943-2025)

John L. Yeager, 82, of Chippewa Township, passed away on December 13th, 2025. He was born in Ambridge on November 2nd, 1943, a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Ferencik) Yeager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Ernest and a sister, Mary Fraser. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth, a sister, Phyllis Rowley of Conway, a son, Benjamin (Mia) of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, a daughter, Eve of Chippewa Township, his grandsons, Garen and Gabe Yeager, as well as several nieces and nephews.

John graduated from Ambridge High School and Geneva College. He was a life science teacher in the Blackhawk School District for 35 years. He had many wonderful memories of his students, their families, fellow teachers, and administrators. His morning routine included breakfast at the Hot Dog Shoppe in Chippewa, where he enjoyed chatting with his friends, former students, and staff. He also served in many capacities at the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City. His interests included fishing, landscaping, golfing with his friends and travelling internationally with his wife and family. He also received many awards for woodworking and sculpting. He was never bored, spending time designing, creating and rebuilding a wide range of projects, everything from homes, boats and to his final project, the restoration of a 1957 Jaguar XK 150 coupe.

Barbara Lee (Long) Andrick (1940-2025)

Barbara Lee (Long) Andrick, 85, of Darlington, passed away on December 14th, 2025, at Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born on March 30th, 1940, a daughter of the late Richard and Ora Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Andrick, her brothers, Robert Long, Bruce Long and Charles Long, her sisters, Bonnie Casey and Ruth Long and her great-great grandson, Caden. She is survived by her children: Pamela Sturgeon, D. Jeffrey (Gah) Andrick, Timothy Andrick and Beth (Todd) Rutledge, her grandchildren: Shawnee (Michael) Long, Dean Renn, Carson Rutledge, Cole (Taylor) Rutledge, Larissa and Vanessa Andrick; along with her great grandchildren, Alexis, Addison and Kenzie, her sister, Cheryl Hammer, her sisters-in-law, Rose “Corky” Long and Brenda Long and her brother-in-law, Brent Casey. Barbara graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Sewickley Valley Nursing School. She was Protestant by faith and spent many years attending church. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching as a hobby. She was also a natural caregiver who spent many years working as a Nurse and caring for others. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Corless-Kunselman Funeral Services, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, who was in charge of her arrangements. A procession to Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, 273 PA-68, Rochester, will follow the service. Barbara’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Meredith McLaughlin, Debby White and Michelle Moraski.

William Harold Gross (1928-2025)

William Harold Gross, affectionately known as “Uncle Bill,” 97, of Economy Borough, passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2025. He was born on September 16th, 1928, a son of the late Harry and Katherine Gross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dolores (Grguras) Gross, his brothers: Paul, Louis, Donald, James, and Joe Gross; as well as his sisters, Mary Kress and Pearl Krupski and his nephews, Paul “Cookie” Gross and Robert Gross. He is survived by his loving children: Kathy (Jeffrey) Andrews, Bill (Mary Cay) Gross, Karen Hayes, and Kevin (Maryann) Gross; along with ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

William was a graduate of Ambridge High School with its Class of 1947 who proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on to dedicate more than 30 years of service to Duquesne Light Company, which is where he retired. He was a lifelong resident of Economy Borough and was a devoted Catholic who attended Our Lady of Peace Church and then later switched to Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ambridge. He enjoyed his work at Duquesne Light Company and was an active member of the Redshaw senior softball team. He found great joy in gardening, cutting trees down, and fixing just about anything, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted family man who especially loved spending time with children, dogs, and feeding the birds at his house. He had an incredible memory and a gift for connecting with people. He truly never met a stranger.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 17th, from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge, who was in charge of his arrangements. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 18th, at 10:30 A.M. at Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge. Burial will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

Glenn Robert Watterson II (1946-2025)

Glenn Robert Watterson II, 79, of Darlington, passed away on December 12th, 2025, at Beaver Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Beaver Falls.

He was born in Beaver Falls on October 26th, 1946, a son of the late Glenn Robert “Bob” and Grace (Braden) Watterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kay (Joseph) Corradino. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Karen (Croyle) Watterson, his children, Amy (Sean) Miller, Teri (James) Mirikitani, Glenn (Kristina) Watterson III and Kala (William) Henry; as well as his step children, Jen Stoffer and Stephanie (Aaron) Merrill, his grandchildren: Austin (Denali) Miller, Cameron Miller, Braden Miller, Alise Berrojo, Nolan Mirikitani, Ella Watterson, Lilly Waterson, Liam Henry, Bridget Jones, Cameron Evans, Grady Arbogast-Stoffer, Mila Stubel, Brian Spencer III, David Eackard, Mason Merrill, and Aubrey Merrill; along with a great-granddaughter, Everlyn, a brother, Kent (Sandy) Watterson and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Glenn will be remembered as a devoted family man, businessman, community member, and entertainer whose presence brought people together wherever he went. He received a bachelor’s degree from Findlay College in Findlay, Ohio and was Presbyterian by faith. He was also the proud owner of G & K Watterson Paving, a business that reflected his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality. Through his work, he earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike and built lasting relationships throughout the community. He was also deeply involved in several organizations close to his heart, including the Masonic Lodge of Enon, the LMBA Club of New Galilee, the VFW of New Galilee, the Darlington Polo Club, and the United States Polo Association. He also served with dedication as Lieutenant Governor of the Mid-State Circuit for 10 years, a role he took great pride in. He truly embraced life outside of work. He also loved boating and waterskiing, trail riding, RVing, and traveling: especially cruises and vacations that allowed him to relax and enjoy time with others. He was also known as a natural entertainer who loved dancing, hosting gatherings and was famous for throwing three great parties every year that friends and family eagerly anticipated. His laughter, hospitality, and ability to make everyone feel welcome will be fondly remembered. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he loved. His life was marked not just by what he did, but by the joy he shared and the memories he created with others.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 20th from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, who was in charge of his arrangements.

A private inurnment will take place at the Beaver Falls Cemetery, 2045 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls.

George Paul McLeod (1947-2025)

George Paul McLeod, 78, of Beaver Falls, passed away on December 12th, 2025. He was born in Beaver Falls on May 20th, 1947, a son of the late James and Martha McLeod. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen McLeod, his son, George McLeod Jr. and his wife Donyl, his daughter, Rachel Hickman and husband, Tim, his grandchildren: Devon, Xavier, Asher and Joshua McLeod, Taylor Hickman and fiancé Jade and granddaughter, Autumn Hickman; as well as his great grandchildren: Faye, Landon, Lukas, Azekial and Nah’tavaia; along with his brother, James McLeod and wife, Carol.

George spent 19 years at B&W steel Mill then went on to drive trucks for RL transfer until he retired in 2009. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also an avid sports guy and football was his favorite as he loved watching it and playing pick up games with his kids and grandkids in the neighborhood. He was also an avid runner who worked out every day, followed by a run. He loved music and writing his own songs and poems. He would think of lyrics as he would drive his triple trailer truck from Ohio to Chicago and back Monday through Friday. Most of all, he was the most loving husband, Father and Pappy he could be and loved his wife with all his heart. There will be a memorial visitation on Friday, December 19th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Corless-Kunselman Funeral Services, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, who was in charge of his arrangements, and where the Beaver County Special Unit will perform full military honors at 4 p.m.

Douglas Eric Cox (1965-2025)

Douglas Eric Cox, 60, formerly of New Brighton, passed away on December 11th, 2025 at the Beaver Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on June 25th, 1965 and was preceded in death by his father Donald E. Cox, and his nephew, Jeremee Vukich. He is survived by his mother, Pamela (Robbins) Cox, his sister, Christene Cox (Cory Souffrant), and their son, Parker Souffrant, his sister, Donna Cox and her daughters, Jessica Toliver and R’eonna (Hope) Valentine. Douglas was also a proud great uncle of Ka’Leah, Caleb, Noah, and Ariya.

Douglas was a graduate of New Brighton Area High School who spent his days doing what he loved the most. Spending time with his family and providing excellent care and companionship to his mother. He truly lit up a room with his excellent sense of humor. He was also a huge supporter of his Pittsburgh Sports teams and always cheered loud and proud for all to hear. As a self-proclaimed sports critic, he loved his Pittsburgh Teams, and he rarely missed any games. If a game wasn’t on, you could often find him exploring in the kitchen, showing off his cooking skills by feeding those he loved, singing and dancing to his bubble machine or rocking out in the car to Kiss. There was never a dull moment with him by your side. His hidden talent was being able to carry a tune to any song and any genre. He will be missed tremendously.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th, from 6 p.m. until the time of a service at 7:30 p.m. in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home Inc., 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, who was in charge of his arrangements.

Catherine “Cathy” Monach (1950-2025)

Catherine “Cathy” Monach, 75, of Chippewa, formerly of Midland, passed away unexpectedly, on December 12th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Rochester on August 7th, 1950, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosemarie Mosticone Castelli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law and their spouses, Bobbi and Christie Krafft, and Frances and Lou Steff. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ben, her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Scott Antoline, her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Sue and Ben Mauch, her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Holly Castelli, her cherished granddaughters, Ally and Natalie Antoline, her nephews and their spouses, Thomas and Anna Toplak, and Gregory and Caroline Toplak, her nieces and their spouses, Lainey and Eric Phillips, Carley and Dave Brandon, and Casey and Andy Theobald and her great-nieces and nephews: Camila, Luna, Josephine, Miles, Edie, Dawsyn, Colbie, Beau, and Willa.

Catherine was strong in her faith, having been a member of the former Presentation Catholic Church, now St Augustine Parish. She enjoyed vacationing at the beach with her family, as well as shopping with anyone and everyone. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as having taken great pride in being an aunt and great aunt.

Frank J. Wilhelm (1926-2025)

Frank J. Wilhelm, 99, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford on December 12th, 2025. He was born in McKees Rocks on July 24th, 1926 and he moved with his family to Moon Township during the Great Depression. His home had no indoor plumbing, and heat was supplied by a woodstove. Though money was tight, Frank enjoyed a good childhood with his family.

Frank lived an incredible life. His reserved kindness, gentle spirit, and boundless optimism will be remembered by everyone who knew and loved him.

In 1944, at the age of seventeen, Frank joined the US Army Air Force. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan at the end of WWII as a relay station operator. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after earning several service medals.

After returning home, Frank met the love of his life, Esther Baldassare, and they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Coraopolis in 1950. They built a home in Moon Township and made a beautiful life together with their two children for over 65 years.

Frank became an electrical designer in 1950 when he was employed by Carl J. Long & Associates where he worked for 75 years. He achieved his professional engineering license and eventually became the president and owner of CJL Engineering.  He was very respected in the engineering community and worked on a number of buildings in the Pittsburgh area, notably many hospital projects, the fountain at Point State Park, Bell Telephone jobs and the Civic Arena. Frank was known for his professional integrity and dedication to his employees and customers. As the firm grew, Frank was proud that the company provided a good living for many families.

Beyond his professional life, Frank was a devoted family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frank also enjoyed athletic endeavors, especially golfing with his friends.  He was on record for twice achieving the accomplishment of shooting a hole-in-one.  In his later years, Frank once shot nine strokes under his age – quite a feat!

He enjoyed tinkering with all things mechanical and could fix anything.  He was known to lovingly ruffle his wife’s feathers with his attention to detail and his many cooking suggestions.  He took tremendous pride in keeping his home and lawn maintained to perfection.

Frank is survived by his children, John Wilhelm and Janet Wilhelm Liggett (Lanny), his four grandchildren: Rebecca (Steven), Allison (Dylan), Curtis (Emily) and Lena (Luke); as well as two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary, his wife, Esther, his sister, Gloria Sefton and his brother, Stewart.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 15th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Moon Township, 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road, Coraopolis, who was in charge of his arrangements, and where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 10 A.M. Committal will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Moon Township after which Frank will later be laid to rest privately beside his beloved wife, Esther.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the care Frank received from Delana Getty, his wonderful caregiver and friend during the past eight months.  We are also extremely grateful for the kind and loving care from the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of honor, hard work, and unconditional love for his family and friends will live on forever in the hearts of those he knew and loved.

Sylvia Rae Edenfield (1936-2025)

Sylvia Rae Edenfield, 89, formerly of Monaca, passed away on December 11th, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Crescent Township on May 14th, 1936, a daughter of the late Edith and Kenneth Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, Morris Michael Hoover, her second husband of 20 years, Walter Edenfield, her grandson: Sean Snyder, and two siblings, Kenneth Morrison Jr. and Joan Kephart. She is survived by her three children, Tamera (Michael) Scheers, Michael (Terri) Hoover and Leianne (Vito) Vigna, ten grandchildren: Justin Hoover, Shane Hoover, Chad Hoover, Lena Pitzer, Shannon Stojan, Frank Bullock Jr., David Kozik, Jordan Snyder, Kolton Vigna and Preston Vigna; as well as twenty great grandchildren, a sister, Linda (Edward) Heinlein and a beloved niece, Tricia Slugo Sebastian.

Sylvia worked for more than 25 years at JCPenney’s where she was a Supervisor. She also loved her time working at Green Valley Personal Care Home where she helped to cook and care for the residents. She also enjoyed her time as president of the Tri State Brigade with which she and her late husband Morris Michael Hoover would travel with in their Bounder motorhome. She was also a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Aliquippa.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 14th from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2345 Mill Street, Aliquippa, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 450 Penn Avenue, Aliquippa.

Betty Mae Marchegiano (1934-2025)

Betty Mae Marchegiano, 91, of Midland, passed away on December 11th, 2025.

She was born in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania on June 18th, 1934, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Beth Kinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Marchegiano and her three brothers, Howard, Wilbur and Dale Kinney. She is survived by her daughters: Karen (Dale Gardner) Hunter and Galion, Ohio, Janet (Lou) Hudson of Industry, Brenda (James) Martina, of Louisiana, and Connie (Ruel) Seno of Ambridge; along with her brother, Harold (Judy) Kinney of Galion, Ohio, three sisters, Shirley Aspert of Delaware, Doris Javens of Ohio and Mary Louise Alpert of West Virginia, her grandchildren, Lou (Maria) Hudson and Zachary (Nathaly) Hudson, all of Pittsburgh, Erin (Bejan) Etezad of Canada and Lee Ann (Bill) Bowman of Galion, Ohio, her great-grandchildren, Preston, William and Alexis Bowman, along with two great-great-grandchildren, Atlas and Kinzlee.

Betty, a long-time resident of Midland, loved to make warm nut rolls and homemade manicotti crepes. She also enjoyed delicate embroidery and sharing her faith with others as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1960. She will mostly be remembered as a loving mother to her four girls and proud grandmother.
