Clifford James “C.J.” Hunt (2006-2025)

Clifford James “C.J.” Hunt, 18, passed away on January 13th, 2025 in North Sewickley. He was born in Beaver on March 26th, 2006, a son of the late Clifford “Bill” and Michelle (Tomecsko) Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cody Hunt. He is survived by his grandparents, Michael “Iron” and Peggy Tomecsko, along with many cousins and friends who will forever cherish the love he brought into their lives.

From a young age, he developed a love for the land. As a dedicated agricultural farmer, he worked tirelessly with his hands nurturing the Earth and providing for his family and community. CJ was a graduate from Riverside High School.

He had a rare gift for encouraging others. CJ’s words inspired those around him to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he brought comfort to anyone in need. He approached each day with purpose and pride. CJ’s respect for the United States flag and the ideals it represents was profound, and he carried his patriotism with quiet dignity.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 2-8 P.M, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Avenue, New Brighton.

A funeral service will be private for the family.

Private interment will be held at Grove Cemetery of New Brighton.

Cody William Hunt (2007-2025)

Cody William Hunt, 17, passed away on January 14th, 2025 in North Sewickley. He was born in Beaver on September 14th, 2007, a son of the late Clifford “Bill” and Michelle (Tomecsko) Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clifford James Hunt. He is survived by his grandparents, Michael “Iron” and Peggy Tomecsko, many cousins and lastly friends who will all forever cherish his memory.

Cody was a junior at Riverside High School, where he excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities. He was a proud member of the band, choir, and theatre. Cody’s love for music and performance shone brightly. He had the honor of singing the National Anthem, a testament to his talent and patriotism.

He was a young man with many passions including being a skilled pilot and farmer. Cody showed extraordinary focus and commitment in everything he pursued. In addition, he was also a dedicated marksman and hunter where he spent countless hours outdoors, which is where he felt most at peace. Cody loved his horses deeply, forming bonds with them that reflected his gentle and caring nature.

Alongside his love for outdoors and extracurriculars, Cody was an avid fan of MMA where he admired the discipline and strength it required, values he mirrored in his own life. Whether working on the farm, performing on stage, or soaring through the skies, Cody approached life with unmatched dedicated and an adventurous spirit.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 2-8 P.M, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Avenue, New Brighton.

Aubree Grace Myers (2024-2025)

Aubree Grace Myers, lovingly known as “Our Little Sunshine,” passed away on January 16th, 2025. She was born on June 25th, 2024. Aubree is deeply cherished and survived by her parents, Austin Myers and Emma Rose Dugan, her brother, Jace Myers, her sister, Danielle Hirth, paternal grandparents, Tina Welsh and Ron Carr, maternal grandparents, Douglas Hirth and Amy Jo Bulebush, great-grandparents, Randy and Karen Welsh, and Jack Kenna Sr., along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Aubree was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lisa A. Hirth.

Aubree brought joy to all who knew her. She loved watching SpongeBob SquarePants and had a radiant smile that brightened every room. She was a sweet and content baby. She was never fussy and was a true blessing to her family as their miracle, rainbow baby. Aubree adored her siblings and her pets, filling their lives with love and happiness.

Timothy Edward Lentz, Sr. (1961-2025)

Timothy Edward Lentz, Sr., 63, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on January 16th, 2025.
He was born in Rochester on May 2nd, 1961, the son of Jeanne (Petcovic) Lentz and the late Merrill S. Lentz. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved son Cody Lentz and his brother Lawrence (Larry) Lentz. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children: Tonya Lentz, Tim Lentz, Jr. and his wife Kari, Tayla Jonas and Cole Lentz and his wife Charmayne; his grandchildren: Aleia, Yzzy, Austin, Cameron, Jacob, Isaac, Noah, Lane, and Presley; his brothers, Michael (Mickey) Lentz and his wife Karen and James (Jimmy) Lentz, his sister, Joy Bonzo and her husband Todd and several nephews, nieces, extended family members and friends.
Timothy was a lifelong resident of Freedom area, where he served his community for many years as a dedicated and respected police officer for New Sewickley Township. He invested his whole heart into his career and cared deeply for people, sacrificing his own safety in the line of service. After retiring from formal police work, he continued to pursue his passion to protect and serve the community by opening his own private investigating business alongside his son. Timothy was also passionate about hunting, fishing, and trucking, driving a tri-axle and tractor trailer and even running his own Lentz Trucking company for a time.
Caring for family, friends, and the community came naturally to Timothy. His door was always open, and it wasn’t uncommon for him to offer to give away anything he had on hand to visitors and friends. His favorite place to be was hanging out and catching up with friends on his porch. All his front porch neighborhood monitoring meant he was always in the know, and he affectionately came to be known “the mayor of the neighborhood.” He will be remembered for his heart for people, shown in the way he served and loved his family, friends, and community and the pride he took in his children and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to The William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc. , 349 Adams Street, Rochester, Pa.

Denise Bendle (1951-2025)

Denise E. Bendle, 73, of McCandless Township, passed away on January 16th, 2025 in UPMC North Hills Passavant Hospital.

She was born in Pittsburgh on October 27th, 1951, the daughter of the late Philip and Dorothy (Dimperfield) Bendle, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Philip Bendle III. She is survived by her nephews, Joshua & Noah Bendle, a niece, Hannah Bendle and many wonderful cousins.

In accordance with Denise’s wishes, no visitation or services were held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Inurnment will take place in Economy Cemetery.

Jerry Lee Wade (1944-2025)

Jerry Lee Wade, 80, of Darlington, passed away on January 15th, 2025 in the comfort of his home with his wife, Laura by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Laura Wade (McCowin), daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Laurie Feezle, daughter, Kim Bechak, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Melissa Wade, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Jerry was a devoted husband of 57 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from Darlington Brick Yard after 39 years of service with the company. He was an avid musky fisherman of Pymatuning and Woodcock Lakes, where he camped with his wife and family. He has passed on his love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing to his children and grandchildren.

All services were entrusted to Corless-Kunselman Funeral Services, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 22nd in the funeral home at 12-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. followed by a service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Tim Casey officiating.

Linda Patricia Powell (1957-2025)

Linda Patricia Powell, 67, of Rochester, passed away on January 10th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
She was born in Beaver on December 2nd, 1957, a daughter of the late Gerald Powell and Patricia Kasunich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Geri Clark and her stepfather, Steve Kasunich. She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Rankin, Leslie Powell and Lindsey Leavelle (Laura Blondsey), brothers, Daniel Powell (Sherri) and Dennis Champion, sisters, Cindy Powell, Barbara Neal and Rosemarie Walters, two grandchildren, Noah Nixon and Elijah Powell and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, including Lee Leavelle.

Linda was a beloved and hard working grandma who enjoyed camping with her family and spending time at home with her animals.

Richard K. Hendrickson (1955-2025)

Richard “Rick” Hendrickson, 69, of Independence Township, passed away on January 16th, 2025. He was born on May 1st, 1955 a son of the late Barbara and William Bickerstaff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Dorothy (Semick) Landers. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Hendrickson, two children, J.T. (Brittany) Hendrickson and Kylie (Adam) Ackerman, siblings, Robert (Veronica) Bickerstaff and Shari (Shawn) Calabria, his 6 beloved grandchildren: Dylan, Destin, and Brooke Hendrickson, Owen and Aaron Ackerman, and Dante Collins; 4 nephews, 2 nieces and 2 brothers-in-law, Patrick Galton and Charles (Sandy) Galton.

Growing up, Richard spent a lot of time in Erie with his grandparents. He was a graduate of Aliquippa High School and worked at J&L Steel until they closed. He went to college at CCBC and graduated with an Associates degree as a lab tech. He worked at MedCheck, Sewickley and as a lab tech at Mercy Hospital.  Due to chronic health conditions, he stopped working and spent his time at home with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed spending his time being outside and being with his family and many beloved pets.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 20th, from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa, 2345 Mill Street.

Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Joseph Anthony George (Passed on January 15th, 2025)

Joseph Anthony George, 86, a longtime resident of Hanover Township, passed away on January 15th, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Pittsburgh and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph P. George and Lena T. (Trabasso) George, as well as his step daughter Sheryl Marie Krizan, sister Flora George and brother, Robert E. George. He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 26 years, Patricia Ann Antoline George, whom he married in the picturesque town of Covington, Virginia, on March 26th, 1999. He is survived by two sons, Joseph Anthony George and John Paul George, his wife, Deanna, three grandsons, Jacob, Brandon, and Justin George, a nephew, Robert and a niece, Karen.

Joseph was a man of many firsts, including being the first child to be born in a hospital in his family. He grew up in the vibrant neighborhoods of Hazelwood, Brookline, and later Baldwin, before finally setting roots in Hanover Township on July 14th, 1975.

His legacy of devotion to family, community, and country is a testament to his character.

Joseph’s dedication to his family was matched by his commitment to his career and civic duties. He was a skilled heavy equipment operator and a proud 60-year member of Operating Engineer Local Union 66. His service to his community was further exemplified by his tenure as a longtime Hanover Twp Supervisor.

A patriot through and through, Joseph served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. As a combat engineer, he was recognized as an honor graduate from military training courses, a reflection of his dedication and excellence.

Beyond his service and career, he was an entrepreneur at heart, founding George’s Enterprises and Follansbee Pawn. His passion for cars, heavy equipment, and all things mechanical was not just a hobby but a way of life that he enthusiastically embraced.

As those reflect on Joseph’s life, we remember a man of integrity, strength, and compassion.

Joseph’s remains will be interred with military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies of Bridgeville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services of Monaca.

Chad “Boogz” Michael Brown (1980-2025)

Chad “Boogz” Michael Brown, 44, passed away on January 16th, 2025 in New Brighton. He was born in Beaver on October 12th, 1980, a son of Joanne (Tice) Vrabel and the late Todd Brown. In addition to his father, Chad was preceded in death by his four grandparents Paul and Florence Brown, Joseph Lee Tice and Cherry (Rainer) Tice, and his brother-in-law Gregory Wiland. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife Amanda (Wiland) Brown, son, Cooper Todd Brown, mother, Joanne “Red” (Tice) Vrabel, two brothers, Ryan Brown and Zack Vrabel, father and mother-in-law, Gary and Nancy Wiland, sister-in-law, Leann Wiland and his beloved dog, Geno.

Chad grew up with a passion for sports, especially baseball, which led him to play at Mercyhurst University, where he played the sport, he loved. It was during his time at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), however, that he met the love of his life, Amanda.

Chad worked as a lead clerk at the United States Postal Service. Beyond his career, Chad’s true passion was his family. He made every effort to create special moments and lasting memories with his loved ones. He had a tight-knit group of friends who were like family to him. Whether it was sharing a laugh, watching a game, or keeping long-standing traditions alive, Chad’s energetic personality always made him the life of the party.

He will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, boundless energy, and the kindness that made him well-loved by all who knew him. His love for sports was matched only by his love for his family and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 20th from 2 p.m. until the time of a Blessing Service at 6 p.m. in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Avenue New Brighton, with Father Howard Campbell officiating.
