Nancy (Shiffler) Bush (1934-2025)

Nancy (Shiffler) Bush, 90, of Moon Township, passed away on May 29th, 2025 in her home. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on July 19th, 1934, the daughter of the late, John & Alice (Kelley) Shiffler. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Glenn Wilson Bush, three children, Glenn W. Bush Jr. (Lynda) of Waynesburg, John W. Bush (Lisa) of Pottstown and Kelley Bush-Rodriguez (Luis) of Costa Rica, four grandchildren: Emily Bryan (Lee), Megan Broache (Phil), Daniel Bush (Casey) & Nicholas Bush; as well as four great grandchildren, Lily, Lincoln & Lainy Bryan, Bailey Bush.

Nancy was a widely known artist and teacher in Moon Township and the Greater Pittsburgh Area, known for her devotion to art and teaching. She was a remarkably talented artist with a generous spirit. In 1967, she was a cofounder of the West Hills Art League with the mission to promote artistic growth of the members and encourage public appreciation of the arts. Now more than 50 years later the Art League is thriving.  Her genre of a whimsical world transitioned to mixed media techniques and an abstract realism style.

Friends will be received on Wednesday June, 4th, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 A.M. in the Sharon Community Presbyterian Church of Moon Township. The service will also be live streamed at sharoncpc.com. Private interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Norma Fae DiCicco (1932-2025)

Norma Fae DiCicco, 92, of Chippewa Township, passed away on May 29th, 2025, at Lakeview Personal Care Home. She was born in Beaver Falls on November 15th, 1932, the daughter of the late Elmer Ernest and Marie Katherine Schutte Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul DiCicco, her brother, Kenneth (Catherine) Hall and her daughter-in-law, Suzy Benson DiCicco. She is survived by her sons, William DiCicco, and James DiCicco, two daughters, Tamara (Bill) Mayberry, and Twyla (Paul) Zellner, her brother, Richard (Vi) Hall, four grandchildren: Tina (Michael) Keppel, Todd Murray, Tim (Amanda) Murray and Katie DiCicco; as well as seven great-grandchildren: Hailey Keppel, Ben Keppel, Emma Murray, Zoe Murray, Alex Murray, Matthew Murray, and Sean Murray; along with two step-grandchildren, Amber and Gwen. Norma loved her flower garden and the birds, especially hummingbirds. She also enjoyed quilting and arts and crafts and helping with the rummage sale, but her greatest joy in life came from time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In accordance with Norma’s wishes, all services were private. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. Louis Donald “Butch” Dreyer (1946-2025)

Louis Donald “Butch” Dreyer, 78, of Chippewa Township, passed away on May 30th, 2025, at Heritage Valley Health System, Beaver Campus.  He was born on November 13th, 1946, the son of the late Louis J. and Daisy B. Dreyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louella Stemple. He is survived by three nieces, Renee Verville, Debbie Meszaros and Dena Stemple and their families, as well as an extended family of cousins and their families. He was very lucky to have his friends, Pam Campbell, Kirk Rekasie, and Tom Decker who were especially helpful.

Louis was a resident of Chippewa Township and he felt lucky to have decades-long friends from the places he lived and worked. Hewas a graduate of Freedom Area High School and West Virginia University. He also attended Temple University, Ambler campus and earned graduate credits at the Northern Virginia campus of the University of Virginia. In addition to his degree, he completed the ROTC program at WVU and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army.  His military service included a tour of duty in Vietnam where he earned the Bronze Star for his service.  Prior to that, he completed US Army Jungle School training in Panama. He was also a years-long volunteer with the Penn State Extension Master Gardener program in Beaver County.  He was also a life member of the West Virginia University Alumni Association the Beaver County Chapter 862 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, the 2/1 Armored Cavalry Alumni Association and always, a devoted Mountaineer fan.

He had a diverse working career that included Armco Steel, the U.S. Army, the West Virginia Department of Highways, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the US Department of Agriculture. He retired from the Federal Government in 2002. That career diversity included living in Kentucky, Washington, West Virginia, the Philadelphia area and northern Virginia.  It gave him the opportunity to work with some interesting, dedicated and committed professional people and to see wonderful places and sites.

He was also gladdened by the opportunity to have attended some once in a lifetime events such as being on the White House grounds for an Official State Visit by a foreign head of state, to see the removal and restored replacement of the Statue of Freedom on the United States Capitol Dome, to attend with his Dad the Desert Storm Parade and Flyover, to see the processional for the (briefly) Unknown Soldier from the Vietnam War and to pay respects to that soldier while he lay In State in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 4th, from 11 A.M. until the time of a prayer service at 1 P.M. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

Interment with full military honors will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester.

His family wishes to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to his caregivers: Roberta, Debbie, Kristy, Cathy, Roni, Heidi, Donna and Hayle.

Charles D. Dean, Sr. (1943-2025)

Charles D. Dean, Sr., 82, of Brighton Township, passed away on May 31st, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Bridgewater on January 5th, 1943, a son of the late David and Anna Gehley Dean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David “Sonny” Dean. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Ellen Summers Dean, his sons, Charles D. “Chuck” (Betty) Dean Jr. and Chuck Amstone, his daughter, Shelly (J.D.) Dean, his sister, Janice Shaffer, his grandchildren: Erica (Casey) Norris, Emily (Gary) Morgan, Sadie (Mike) Cottrill, Charlie (Samantha) Dean, Jason (Cassidy) Dean, Christian (Morgan) Barton, Robert (Matt) Bratt, John (Paxton) Thompson, Christian Thoma, Rain Lambert, Cooper Lambert, and Serenity Lambert; as well as 10 great-grandchildren and many others who fondly knew him as “Pap” or “Pappy”.

Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Army who had both worked for and retired from Mansell Trucking Company as a truck driver. He was handy with vehicles and could always be found working on them.

Friends will be received in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver, on Tuesday June 3rd from 3-7 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 4th at 11 a.m.

Pearl Edith Dunlap (1942-2025)

Pearl Edith Dunlap, 82, of Economy Borough, passed away at Beaver Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on May 30th, 2025. She was born in Rochester on November 16th, 1942, a daughter of the late Paul and Mildred Richards Shannon. She is survived by her husband, Dale A. Dunlap, three sons and daughter-in-law, Allen D. and Laura Dunlap of Sarver, Pennsylvania, Carl E. and Michelle Dunlap of Zelienople and Roy D. and Jennifer Dunlap of Butler, one granddaughter, Paige E. Dunlap of Zelienople, a sister, Karol Ponevac, one brother and sister-in-law, Paul Timothy and Cathy Shannon, all of Niles, Ohio, along with several nieces and nephews. Pearl was a former waitress with both the former Sundrug Store of Conway and Isles of Ambridge. She was also a member of Concord Presbyterian Church of Economy Borough, where she was a Sunday school teacher, deaconess and member of the church choir. She also enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 3rd, from 2-4 p.m. at William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., Rochester, where a service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Her pastor, Reverend Jamie Fowler, will officiate the service.

Carol J. Platko (1944-2025)

Carol J. Platko, 80, of Burtchville, Michigan, formerly of Rochester, passed away on May 27th, 2025 at her home. She was born in New Brighton on October 11th, 1944, the daughter of the late Carl H. and Martha Jean Herzog Householder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Platko and a brother, Robert Householder. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher R. and Brandi L. Platko of Burtchville, Michigan and Carl J. Platko of Hopewell, six granddaughters: Morgan, Mackenzie, Marissa, Kaelyn, Dakohta and Camrin; as well as a sister-in-law, Sandra Householder of Ohioville, and several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joseph Platko and his spouse, Keven White of Ashville, Michael and Vicki Platko, Dianna Platko, and Judith and Daniel Dettorre, all of Rochester. She is also survived Carol by numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was a housewife, a homemaker and a former nurse’s aide with the former New Brighton Hospital. She was a member of St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church of Lakeport, Michigan and a former member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church of Rochester. Friends will be received on Monday, June 2nd from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. in the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc. 349 Adams Street, Rochester where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 PA-68, Rochester. John Vincent DiNello (1939-2025)

John Vincent DiNello, 85, of Conway, passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2025.  He was born in West Aliquippa on November 28th, 1939, a son of the late Carlo and Vincenza (Peluso) DiNello. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Amelia, Carlo, Alberto, Giovanna, and Yolanda. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith (Heinamann) DiNello, his son, Brian DiNello and daughter, JoAnn (Mark) Adams, his grandchildren: Matthew (Elara) Norris and Riley, Johnna, and Cooper Adams; as well as many loving family members and friends.

John was a graduate of Aliquippa High School’s class of 1957. He was very proud of his family’s service in the military. Just after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years. He remained with the Air Force Reserves until he retired twenty-five years later as Senior Master Sergeant in Air Traffic Control. During his military career, he attended Edinboro College where he earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education.  For the duration of his professional career, he worked many years in Administration at the Wheeler School and Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. John was an active volunteer in many community organizations where his compassionate spirit will be missed. He enjoyed spending time at the Beaver Valley Mall Senior Center and local retirement and health care facilities where he was known to many as the “Tootsie Roll Man.”  He touched many lives by sacrificing his own time to comfort others. John had an unwavering faith in God and shared this faith through kindness and goodwill.  He was a long-time parishioner at the former Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, currently, Good Samaritan Catholic Church of Ambridge, where he served as a sacristan and an usher.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st from 1-5 P.M., in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered on Monday, June 2nd at 10:30 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge.  Interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, 1101 9th Street Extension, Freedom.

Linda M. (DiClemente) Haskins (1951-2025)

Linda M. (DiClemente) Haskins, 73, of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 30th, 1951, a daughter of the late Oswald and Florence DiClemente. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norm DiClemente and her sister, Carol Ann DiClemente. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, George D. Haskins, her daughter, Lisa (Kris) Korol, her son, Doug (Klyde) Haskins, her sister, Donna (Jim) McFadden and her cherished grandchildren, Ben and Natalie Korol. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Linda graduated of Moon Township School District who began her career at Keystone Shoe Store in Moon Township. Her and her siblings became co-owners and operators of Charles Men’s Store in Ambridge. They proudly operated it together since 1972. Linda was known for her exceptional baking and cooking, especially her homemade spaghetti sauce. She enjoyed soap operas, playing bingo and cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams.

Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring sister.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge.

Daniel S. May (1951-2025)

Daniel S. May, 73, of Industry, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 27th, 2025.

He was born in Beaver Falls on November 12th, 1951, a son of the late Wilbert “Bill” and Betty May. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbert “Bill” May. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy, his daughters, Elizabeth May and Amanda (Kent) McDowell and his grandchildren Addison, James, and Ada. Daniel’s dedication to them was boundless. He was always willing to help others and touched the lives of those who knew him. He lived a full and happy life and will be deeply missed.

Daniel graduated from Beaver Falls High School, going on to attend the Community College of Beaver County and Middle Tennessee State University. He had a long career as a construction project manager, working throughout the United States. After retiring, he worked part-time at Home Depot in Chippewa Township. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and would share his vegetables with co-workers and friends. He also enjoyed driving his vintage 1946 blue Chevy truck to car cruises with his friends in the Cruzin Few Car Club. His love of travel took him and his family on vacations, traveling to National Parks throughout the United States.

Friends will be received on Monday, June 2nd, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver, where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 3rd, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery, 339 Salem Church Road, Midland. Kenneth Anthony Bobish (1970-2025)

Kenneth Anthony Bobish, 54, of Center Township, passed away on May 26th, 2025 at his residence.

He was born in Sewickley Valley Hospital on October 24th, 1970, a son of the late Michael J. and Annetta (DeDominicis) Bobish. He is survived by his siblings, Michael (Jennifer) Bobish, Charlotte (Timothy) Durbin and Scott Bobish, four nieces: Corinne (Erin Grimm) Bobish, Danielle (Daniel) Harding, Cassandra (Nick) Coleman and Erica (John Lattanzi) Bobish; as well as two nephews, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Durbin and Sean Durbin, a great nephew, Jameson and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kenny was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church of Aliquippa. He enjoyed walks, riding bikes and skateboarding.
