Ty Michael Lucente (Died July 17, 2024)

Ty Michael Lucente, 42 formerly of New Sewickley Township passed away on July 17, 2024.

A son of Gerald E. and Christine A. (Mayhue) Lucente of E. Rochester, Ty grew up alongside his brother, Brock Ian Lucente. His maternal grandparents, Robert and Nancy Mayhue, and paternal grandparents Michael Lucente and Julia Lucente DeLauter, predeceased him.

Ty’s greatest joy and proudest achievement were his daughters, Isabella Genieve and Sophia Grace whom he adored beyond measure.

Ty’s professional journey as a truck driver in the fracking industry was more than a career; it was a calling he embraced with open arms. The open roads were his haven, and the sense of freedom that came with each journey fueled his spirit.

From a tender age, Ty’s interests included biking and a love for motorcycles. Music, too, played a role in Ty’s life, as he played the guitar.

Katherine Sue (Greene) Dobritz February 14, 1954 ~ July 18, 2024

Katherine Sue Dobritz, 70, of Beaver Falls, died Thursday, July 18, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Born February 14, 1954, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Norma Jean Shingleton and Lee Anderson Greene II. Kathy attended Northwestern High School until 1972. She was a bar manager at McDowell’s Inn and a server at Athens Family Restaurant where she was a dedicated individual who took pride in her work, always striving to provide excellent service to her customers. Kathy loved meeting new people and engaging in conversations with them.

Beyond her career, Kathy was the glue that held her family together. As a devoted homemaker the majority of her life, she created a loving and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds for making everyone feel at home in her presence.

One of Kathy’s proudest accomplishments was achieving 21 years of sobriety. She demonstrated remarkable strength and determination in overcoming challenges and embracing a life of sobriety.

She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen (Joe Venn) Perretta; son, Ian (Julie) Greene; brother, Lee Anderson “Irish” (Helen) Greene III; sister-in-law, Delda Greene; sister, Patricia (Ken) Lovorn; seven grandchildren, Madison, Macey, Domenic, Maggie (Mandeep), Jacqueline, Jacob, and Alec (Christa); four great-grandchildren, Addilynn, Olin, Arlin, and Silvana; three grand-pups, Bear, Cody, and Ikki; close friends, Nina Dripps, Vicki Reeher, Steve White, Jacob Cumberledge and Marina and Errikos Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her sister, Brenda Robinson, and brother, Keyon Greene.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 27th from 2 PM until the time of service at 4 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Avenue, Beaver Falls.

Martin M. “Marty” Novoselski (4/13/1946 — 7/19/2024)

Martin M. “Marty” Novoselski, 78, of Crescent, passed away on July 19, 2024 in Concordia at the Villa St. Joseph, Baden.  He was born on April 13, 1946 the son of the late Michael & Sue (Chulack) Novoselski.

Marty graduated from Stowe High School class of 1964 He attended Robert Morris College. before his retirement in 2009, he was a maintenance supervisor at the Pittsburgh International Airport.

He loved playing golf in his younger years and was an avid fan until his passing.

Marty was so very proud of all six of his grandchildren and enjoyed face-timing with his great grand daughter.

Marty is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith A. “Judy” (Schutz) Novoselski.  Three children:  Michael Novoselski (Christy), OH; David Novoselski, Moon Twp.; Beth Ann Butter (Ray), Hopewell Twp.  Six grandchildren:  Collin, Grant, Chase, Logan, Max, Whitney and a great granddaughter, Wrenley.

Mildred (Millie) Bacon Johnson (September 4, 1928 – July 15, 2024)

Mildred (Millie) Bacon Johnson, 95, of Rochester, formerly of Industry, passed away on July 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness.

Born September 4, 1928 in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and William M. Bacon. Mildred was a faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a custodian before her retirement. She was also an avid gardener and never met a flower that she didn’t like. Her favorite was the African Violets.

Along with her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, O’Dell F. Johnson; brothers, Thomas Bacon, Armor Bacon, William Bacon and Mason Bacon; sisters, Johanah Perkins, Marybelle Pack and Zellie Bacon; son-in-laws, David L. Newsome and Anthony Priest.

Mildred will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sarah R. Bacon, Jeannette Newsome (Joseph Gould), Linda Johnson and Glenda J. Priest; grand-daughters, Alisha M. Pegeron and Khalea Johnson; fifth niece/daughter, Diane Washington; brother, Harrison Bacon.

Flora Jean Maratta (3/18/1941 — 7/14/2024)

Flora Jean Maratta, 83 of Aliquippa formerly of Clearwater, FL, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 in her home. She was born in Aliquippa, PA on March 18, 1941 a daughter of the late Esther and Samuel Cox. She had a passion for sewing.  She worked as a seamstress for many years in Florida. When she lived in Aliquippa, she enjoyed being a florist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband R. J. Opdyke; a son Rick Brocklebank; a granddaughter Joanna Taylor, and siblings: Samuel (Viola) Cox, Fred Cox, Delores Jones, and Sara (Todd) Peterson.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Diane & Ed Seech, Patrick & Tammy Brocklebank, Melanie Venanzio & Donald Pavlinsky, and Jennie & A.J. Kokoskie; 10 grandchildren: Ricky Brocklebank Jr., Thomas Quimby, Ralph Hartzell, Monica Brocklebank, Anthony Venanzio, Tommie Rae Gardner, Demetri Pavlinsky, Demi Rae Pavlinsky, Carter Kokoskie, and Emma Rae Kokoskie; numerous great grandchildren; 4 siblings: Harry (Sandi) Cox, Patrick (Rochelle) Cox, Jennie (Mike) Flannagan, and Russel Cox; and her former husband Allan Ray Maratta.

Carl F. Wagner Jr. (12/28/1946 — 7/14/2024)

Carl F. Wagner Jr., 77, of Moon Twp., died on July 14, 2024, in Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills, with his family by his side. He was born in Bellevue, on December 28, 1946 the son of the late Carl F. Sr. & Helen (Evans) Wagner.

He received his Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees from California University of PA in Industrial Arts.  He retired from Hopewell High School after 36 yrs. teaching industrial arts, graphic arts and photography. He coached wrestling and softball, and filmed football games for many years. He also taught flying at Allegheny County Community College.  Currently he was the supervisor of Hopewell Community Park.  He enjoyed reading, watching Law & Order and C.S.I.

Carl was the dear husband of Janet R. (Witt) Wagner for 54 years. Beloved father of, Jason C. Wagner (Dr. Johanna Rossi Wagner) Princeton, NJ and Craig F. Wagner, Moon Twp.  Loving grandfather of, Tru Wagner and brother of Richard A. Wagner.  Companion of Judie Essey.

Ralph A. Hague (June 07, 1948 – July 15, 2024)

Ralph A. Hague, 76, of Chippewa Township, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, in the comfort of his home.

Born on June 7, 1948, in Rochester, he was the son of the late Delbert and Edith (Erickson) Hague.

Ralph was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having actively served in the Vietnam War and had retired from Babcock & Wilcox as a crane operator.  He was a member of the Veterans of WWII of West Mayfield and was a member of the Highland Vets.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Engle) Hague; a grandson, Ryan Hague; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas (Cathy) Orosz; a sister-in-law, Jan Hague; two nieces, Jodi Hague and Amy Orosz; and nephews, DJ Hague, Darin Hague, and Jason Hague.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Hague; two brothers, Delbert Hague, Jr., and Joseph Hague; a sister-in-law, Susan Hague; and a nephew, Thomas Orosz.

In accordance with his wishes, Ralph will be cremated and inurnment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

A celebration of Ralph’s life will take place at a later date.

Nancy L. Carver (January 08, 1939 – July 16, 2024

Nancy L. Carver, 85, of New Brighton, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Heritage Valley – Sewickley.

Born on January 8, 1939, in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Relman “Buckeye” and Christine (Bauer) Wilson.

Nancy was an active Christian Missionary for over 30 years. She was born on Marion Hill in New Brighton. She spent her life spreading the gospel around the world and serving the Lord, enjoying her senior years in New Brighton.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Carver; her children, Richard (Laura) Narvett, Robert Narvett, and Debra Narvett; step-children, Mitch (Linda) Carver, Jacqueline Gorgus, Judy (Mike) Anthony, and Jeanette Gaus; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Christine “Neetz” Livingston and Meridell (Alvin) Pieri; numerous nieces, nephews, hundreds of Missions family in Africa; and many friends around the world.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Wilson; and a sister, Barbara Smith.

Friends will be received on Monday, July 22nd from 2-4PM & 6-8PM in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 23rd at 11AM.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Lawrence “Larry” Richard Kroner (September 8, 1940 – July 13, 2024)

Lawrence “Larry” Kroner, 83 of Conway, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice Care in Wexford. Born September 8, 1940, to Lawrence R. and Vivian W. Noland Kroner, Larry grew up in Leetsdale before moving to Leet Township, where he resided for 46 years.

Larry lived a life of service to his family, country, and community.  In the Marine Corps from 1958-61 (Oorah!), Larry continued to be a proud “Jarhead” throughout his life thanking and talking with every fellow Marine he met.

He served Ohio River Valley Little League as a Coach and Manager. He was the Leetsdale Parade Chairman in the early 80s, a Lifetime Member of the Leetsdale Volunteer Fire Department, and a proud member of The American Legion.

Larry worked for J&L Steel, Quaker Valley Transportation, and the Edgeworth Water Authority — where he retired as Manager after 34 years of service.

He was a devout Catholic and member of St. James Catholic Church Sewickley, ushered for over 60 years, and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

In his free time, you could find Larry bowling, golfing with the Leetsdale Civic Club, working on antique cars, or attending his grandchildren’s athletic and academic events. Later in life, he began building birdhouses — a fitting reflection of himself — as he often referred to them as, “One of a kind … No two alike.”  Larry always kept a repertoire of jokes on hand and lived life “Taking it one day at a time.”

He was often found in the stands or his favorite recliner “assisting” coaches from Quaker Valley, Pittsburgh Central Catholic, the University of Notre Dame, and/or the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was a staunch supporter of the Pittsburgh Pirates and is grateful they kept his blood pressure from getting too low.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife Joan (d. 1996), and sisters Bernice (Jim) Charlton, and Laraine (Terry) Larimer.

He is survived by his wife Maureen Daily, Conway, PA; brother Don, Phoenix, AZ; two children Keith (Christine) Kroner, Sewickley, Kristen (David) Fisher Cranberry Twp; grandchildren Courtney, Emily, Ryan, Troy and Payton.  Maureen’s children, Tim and Erin Carte, grandchildren Tyler and Katelyn Carte, great-granddaughter Sadie Bjelivuk, his many nieces/nephews, and his loyal canine companion, Murphy.

The Kroner family would like to thank Drs. Fuchs, Schillo, Malkowski, their respective staff, and the nurses on the 7th floor of Heritage Valley-Sewickley for their care and compassion throughout the years.  A special thank you is extended to the hospice staff of Good Samaritan Hospice care nurses, Jenn, Jessica, Jaimie, Lenore, and Angie.

The family will receive guests on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, from where a prayer service will be conducted Saturday at 9:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in the St. James Catholic Church, Sewickley – Divine Redeemer Parish.  Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

W. James (Jim) Loxley – (August 9, 1933 – July 15, 2024)

He was born in Rochester, PA on August 9, 1933, and was the son of the late Raymond and Stella Loxley. Jim was raised in Beaver and graduated with the class of 1953. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea, from 1954 – 1956. He worked and retired from Teledyne Vasco, Monaca. Jim served on Beaver Council for 12 years. He belonged to the Beaver County Men’s Club and Men of Melody. He was also a member of the Rochester Elks, Monaca VFW and the Fort MacIntosh Club. Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling, especially cruises.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Raymond.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Buckenheimer Loxley; daughters, Diane (David) Buckenheimer Edelstein of Virginia, Debbie (Russ) Buckenheimer Strosnider of Maryland, and Laura (Mike) Loxley Garofolo of Virginia; his son, David Buckenheimer; his sisters Phyllis (Larry) Carinci and Marilyn (Bob) Matchett; his brother Thomas Loxley; as well as his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jim was loved by his family, and truly enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible, he will be remembered as a fun and loving Pappap.

Friends will be received on Sunday July 21, 2024 from 12pm-4pm in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Monday July 22, at 10am at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Saints Peter and Paul Church, 200 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009.
