Gloria Jean (Bobrick) Cecchetti (9/23/1947 — 7/23/2024)

Gloria Jean (Bobrick) Cecchetti, 76, of Tarentum, PA passed away on July 23, 2024, in Kane Community Living Center, Scott Twp. She was born on September 23, 1947, the daughter of the late William & Mary (Gaydos) Bobrick.

Gloria is survived by her four children, Joel Cecchetti (Leonor) Houston, Texas; Nicole Cecchetti, Richard Cecchetti Houston, Texas; Leslie Kuzma (Doug), Robinson Twp.

She leaves behind five grandchildren: Adora, Zachary, Isabella, Ivana & Alina. Gloria is survived by her sister Elaine Flinn as well as two nephews Matt Flinn & Jeremy Flinn: along with one niece Dina Flinn.

Gloria loved her family and friends. There wasn’t anything she would not do for you if she knew she could help. Much of her career was working at USAir. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends. Gloria was a faithful woman as she knew going home to the Lord gave her comfort and peace.

A blessing service will take place on Friday, July 26th at 2PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Friends are invited to stay for visitation until 7PM.  Committal and entombment will take place on Saturday at 11 AM in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Moon Twp. (Please meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM).

Norma Jean Narad (October 21, 1931 – July 23, 2024)

Norma Jean Narad, 92, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Louis H. “Bub” Young III July 7, 1960 ~ July 21, 2024

Louis H. Young III, 64, of New Brighton, formerly of White Twp. passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Bub was born on July 7, 1960 in New Brighton to Louis H. Young Jr. of White Twp. and the late Judith Kay (Hershberger) Young. Bub was the owner of Young’s Pest Control.

In addition to his mother, Bub was preceded in death by a son, Louis Young IV.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Chelsy Young Granddaughter Ka’Mya Young both of Boardman, OH a son, Jason Bailey, Rochester; Grandson’s Bricyn and Carson Young along with their mother Mehgan Miller (Louis H. Young IV) Josh and Jeff Barley, that were like sons to Bub, and their mother, Diane Barley.

John R. “Jack” Church July 23, 1928 – July 22, 2024

John “Jack” R. Church Jr., of Beaver Falls, PA. (Chippewa), passed away on July 22, 2024.  He was the son of the late John R. Church Sr. and Miniva Tomlinson Church.  He was born July 23, 1928, in Riverside, California.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict aboard aircraft carriers as an airplane mechanic which led to his career.  He was with Mohawk Airlines for many years in Ithaca and Utica, New York.  Jack moved to the Pittsburgh area to work for Allegheny Airlines and was a jet engine inspector for USAir retiring in 1993.  He enjoyed going to the family camp for fishing on Lake Ontario in Henderson Harbor, N.Y.  He also enjoyed playing golf in his younger days and tinkering on projects in his garage.

Survivors are his wife Carolyn Schulz Church who he married in 1956, a daughter Karen L. Church of Chippewa, a son John R. (Nancy) Church III of Delanson, N.Y., and two grandchildren Kyleigh (Jared) Cleghorn of Alexandria, VA, and Brett Church of Delanson, NY.

Visitation will be at Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 10:30 AM until time of services at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be private at a later date.

Mary Kay Gorius (November 15, 1954 ~ July 21, 2024)

Mary Kay Gorius, 69, of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Myrtle Gorius. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Gorius, siblings, Joe Gorius, Kenny Gorius, Loretta Gorius, George Gorius, and Rose Buffington. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Gorius and fiancé Craig Fadley, brother, Ronnie Gorius, daughter-in-law, Melody Gorius, grandchildren, Brionna, Brooklyn, Makayla, Gracie, James, Brennan, Devin, Alivia, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary Kay found immense joy in baking, particularly crafting her renowned chocolate chip cookies. She was also passionate about card games and dedicatedly followed soap operas, with General Hospital being her favorite. Above all, Mary Kay’s greatest happiness stemmed from her cherished grandchildren, who brought boundless love and meaning to her life. Deborah L. Tress (October 10, 1961 – July 21, 2024)

Deborah L. Tress, 62, of Chippewa, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.

Born October 10, 1961 in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late T. Joseph and Elsie M. Gill. Deborah was a retired piano teacher and belonged to the National Guild of Piano Teachers. She was a member of St. Monica Church, St. Augustine Parish, where she pioneered the Martha Ministry, providing meals to families in need. A devout Catholic, Debbie found great solace in the sacraments and held certain devotions close to her heart, specifically Our Lady of Fatima, her daily rosary, and a longstanding commitment to Eucharistic adoration.

Debbie will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 36 years, Timothy W. Tress; son, Brian W. Tress, Westerville, OH; daughter, Melissa (Adam) Bair, Westerville, OH; brother, T. Allan (Diane) Gill, Chippewa; sister, Lynda (Ed) Upton, Deland, FL; and cherished grandchildren, Lucy, Anna, Hazel, Ian and her 5th grandchild baby Josie, whose birth she was eagerly awaiting.

Friends will be received Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc, 333 Third, Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Monica Church, St. Augustine Parish, Chippewa Twp. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beaver Falls. Alvin Mature (November 19, 1929 – July 19, 2024)

Alvin Mature, 94, of Beaver, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 at Villa St. Joseph.
Born on November 19, 1929, in Buffalo, New York, Alvin was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and United States Army. He was a member of numerous organizations, and had many hobbies.
Alvin is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Frost Mature (2015).
He is survived by his cousin, Theone Oblamski; as well as numerous friends, and neighbors.

Steven “Cement Steve” Habrle (July 28, 1930 ~ July 20, 2024)

Steven “Cement Steve” Habrle, of Conway, peacefully passed away on July 20, 2024.  He is survived by his daughter Bea Habrle-Patterson and son-in-law John Patterson. Steve led a diverse and fulfilling life, beginning with his proud service in the United States Army/Airforce (Prior to the forming of the official Airforce branch) where he was a phenomenal boxer. He was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates – finding joy in all sports. His career spanned many years with Conrail (Norfolk Southern) and the masonry industry, showcasing his commitment to hard work . Stewart G. ‘Dutch’ Barto (Died July 19, 2024)

Stewart G. ‘Dutch’ Barto, 94, a lifelong resident of Monaca, a family man and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024. Born in Monaca, Dutch was known for his earnest work ethic, his warm sense of humor, and his profound love for his family and his dogs.

Dutch was a graduate of Monaca High School, class of 1948, and later pursued higher education at Geneva College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. His academic pursuits were matched by a knowledge and appreciation of the Bible.

Following high school, Dutch honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. As an aircraft engine mechanic, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, a testament to his dedication and skill. After his military service, Dutch embarked on a career as an industrial engineer, retiring from Armco (A.K. Steel) in Ambridge. His industrious nature was evident from an early age when, at just eight years old, he assisted in his family’s business, Barto Trucking, by driving the business’ dump truck while his father loaded it.

In his retirement, he continued to contribute to his community, working briefly for Tuma Lawn Service and as a school bus driver. He also cherished the time spent as a babysitter for his granddaughter Brittany, a role he took on with love and dedication.

His interests extended to gardening and bowling in the Armco Bowling League. A man with a sense of humor, Dutch was also a committed dog lover, sharing his life and home with his three faithful canine buddies, grand dogs Mason, Elsa, and Luna.

One of Stewart’s greatest pleasures was embarking on family vacations. These adventures were filled with love and laughter. He was a people pleaser, always ready to lend a hand or share a joke and a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca.

Stewart G. ‘Dutch’ Barto was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty A. Barto, who passed away in 2003, his son Gary R. Barto, his parents Stewart and Mary (Dockter) Barto, brothers Charles and Eugene Barto, and sisters Marian Kaszer and Rose Ciccone. He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Barto; grandchildren Brittany (Logan) Loncar, Aaron, and Matthew; daughter-in-law Karen L. Barto; great-grandchildren Ian and Revay; his cherished grand dogs and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Monday, July 22nd form 2-4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with his pastor, Reverend Robert Saul, officiating. Inurnment will take place with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory, if desired to the Beaver County Humane Society.

Marian J. Nelson (Died July 19, 2024)

Marian J. Nelson, 86, a lifelong resident of Monaca passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024.

Marian’s journey began as the daughter of the late Lawrence and Katherine Crudden. She grew up in the tight-knit community of Monaca, where she graduated from Monaca High School.

Throughout her adult life, Marian shared an enduring love with her late husband, Martin Nelson, who predeceased her in January 2005. Together, they raised a loving family, including their son Marty who passed before her, and their three children, Lori (Ed) Maritz, Larry (Beth Ann) Nelson, and Tracy Caratelli. Marian’s family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her five grandchildren, Kati, Michael, Samantha, Chris, and Matt, as well as her several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Marian’s siblings held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her sister Patty Connor and brother-in-law Dan Albert. She is survived by her brother Larry (Carol) Crudden and sister Kathy Albert (Ang).

Although she never drove a car, she was a dedicated employee for over 25 years. Her career began at the S.S. Kresge Department Store at Northern Light Shopping Center, and she later served the community through her work at the K Mart deli departments in E Rochester and Rochester stores. Marian later requested to work the late shift, a choice that allowed her to spend her days enjoying the sun in her swimming pool, a pastime she greatly enjoyed.

Her family eagerly anticipated Marian’s Sunday dinners, a weekly tradition that was always accompanied with one of her homemade desserts.

She was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Monaca.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 23rd from 3 – 7 pm at the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, 724 728 4000 where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am with her pastor, Reverend Angela Smith. Private interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
