Frank Leslie McPherson (1943-2024)

Frank Leslie McPherson, 80, of Enon Valley, passed away on April 10, 2024, at Heritage Valley Health System of Beaver.

Born September 20, 1943, in Rochester, he was the son of the late Berton and Lula (Hougue) McPherson. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Burton “Mitch” McPherson and Dennis McPherson and his sisters, Sandy Mayle and Carol Jodikinos.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda McPherson, his children, Gerald McPherson, Linda Hall, William McPherson, Kelly Klaus McPherson and Frank L. McPherson, Jr., numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his sister, Lola Kugel.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 12th from 2pm-8pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SVCS, INC.- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 13 at 10 am with Pastor Dan Muir as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery of Enon Valley, where full Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Donald J. Dowlin III (1962-2024)

Donald J. “Butch” Dowlin III, 61, of Ohioville, passed away on April 7, 2024 at home, surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with his health.

He was born on May 25, 1962, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a son of the late Donald J. Dowlin Jr. and the late Joyce White Antonis, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, Delon (Fisher) Dowlin; a daughter, Corrine (Samuel) Dowlin-Guido; Two sisters, Darlene (Tim) Beck and Debbie Meechum; a mother and father-in-law, Patricia and Nick Porto; an aunt and uncle, Leon and Delores Dowlin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his closest friend, Dean (Tammie) Chevalier.

A 1981 graduate of Western Beaver High School, he was a foreman at Watco Industries in Industry, Pennsylvania for many years. He rose through the ranks at Watco, starting as a laborer and heavy equipment operator. He was a lifetime member of the Midland Sportsman’s Club and an avid outdoorsman. He had a sharp wit and an even sharper shot. He spoke fluent sarcasm and could make a friend wherever he went. Butch was a loving husband, a great father, an amazing cook and a loyal friend.

The Dowlin Family wishes to express their gratitude to the many friends, family, and neighbors who aided Butch and the family throughout his ongoing medical complications, especially Dean, Tammie, and Elissa Chevalier for their continued guidance and steadfast support.

Vicky L. Casey (1944-2024)

Vicky L. Casey, 78, of Chippewa Twp., passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 in UPMC-Shadyside.

Born August 11, 1945, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late David and Maude (Altmeyer) Saras.  Vicky was a devoted member of the former St. Philomena Catholic Church. She shared her kindness and compassion with her fellow parishioners where she served on many church committees, taught CCD, and was a Eucharistic Minister.  Her commitment to the church’s mission and her tireless efforts in serving others was rewarded to Vicky when she received the Father Marcus O’Brien Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Vicky also enjoyed hosting gatherings for her family and friends. Her home was always filled with laughter, delicious food, and love. Whether it was a holiday celebration or a simple get-together, she delighted in creating memorable moments for her loved ones.  She also enjoyed baking and crafting.

She will be remembered for her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Casey; her brothers, David and Tom Saras; and a sister, Florence Eggensberger.

Vicky is survived by her two daughters, Amy Gilbert and her husband Roger, and Jill Casey and her husband Rich Alexander; her four grandchildren, Kelsey Greco, Michael “Mikey” Greco, Sara (Chris) Flether and Miranda (Paul) Salzler; her three great-grandchildren, Beatrice Fletcher and Aiden and Gabe Salzler; her sister, Thelma Aiken; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 13th from 10AM until the time of blessing service at 1PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp.

Private interment will take place in Grandview Cemetery.

Daniel E. Reznik (1944-2024)

Daniel E. Reznik (Michalski), 79, of Beaver, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 7, 2024.

Born August 23, 1944 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Helen Reznik and Alex Michalski, who preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Edith Reznik of Beaver; son, Eric Reznik of Silver Spring, Maryland, daughter, Shelly (Michael) Haczela of Beaver; and grandchildren, Tyler and Kylie Haczela, of Beaver.

Daniel graduated from Beaver High School in 1962, going on to serve proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He had a long career as a machinist with Westinghouse, Cutler Hammer, currently Eaton Corporation of Vanport Township. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans, the NRA and the Midland Sportsman’s Club. In his spare time, Daniel could be found hunting or fishing, cheering on the Steelers, and playing his oldies while gardening or grilling. His biggest enjoyment was watching his grandchildren’s games and activities, and he was also a proud Pappy.

Frieda Pettibon Hollihan (1930-2024)

Frieda P. Hollihan, 93, of Center Township, passed away on April 6, 2024 in Celebration Villa of Chippewa. She was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on June 9, 1930, a daughter of the late Arthur & Hazel Pettibon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Hollihan, 4 brothers: Lee Owen, William Glen, George Thomas, and LaVerne Arthur Pettibon and her sister Evelyn P. Burnham.

She is survived by 11 beloved nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Wilson College where she earned a Bachelors Degree in education.  She taught at numerous school districts, eventually retiring from Pennsburg High School where she was the Chairman of the Social Studies Department.  In her free time, she loved to golf.  Frieda was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church in Rochester.

As were her wishes, there will be no viewing.

Private interment will take place in Bethel Cemetery.

Florence E. Dentler (1936-2024)

Florence E. Dentler, 88, of Industry, passed away with her family at her side on April 7, 2024.

Born January 19, 1936 in Beaver, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Cope Stone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Wurzel; brothers, Chuck and Robert; sisters, Janet, Doris, Carol and Norma; grandson, Jeremy Dentler and niece, Dianna.

Florence will be greatly missed by her sons, David Dentler and Joe (Bobbi) Dentler; brother, James (Sue) Stone; sisters, Sandy Miller, Peggy Hoskinson, Jackie Nicol and Sally (Stan) Antiewicz; grandchildren, Joshua (Kelli) Dentler, Joey (Kellie) Dentler and Jim (Ashley) Dentler; and 9 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A resident of Industry since 1957, Florence retired following a 25-year career with the Westinghouse Electric Company of Vanport Township.

Thomas C. Belczyk (1942-2024)

Thomas C. Belczyk, 81, of Beaver, passed away on April 6, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 20, 1942, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Bugajski) Belczyk.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Hill) Belczyk, who was the love of his life; his siblings, Walt Belczyk, Frank Belczyk, Ted Belczyk, and Catherine Petti.

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas (Linda) Belczyk and Diana Parsons; grandchildren, Tiffany (William) Calhoon, Emily (Landon) Stahl, Michael (Renee) Baldinger, Jaime (Jake) Albertson, and Crystal (Jason) Siget; great-grandchildren, Liam, Sophia, Cali, Drayton, Shaelynn, Zayvian, Hailey, Tallon, Emma, Aiden, Claire, and Alex; great-great grandchild, Taytum; and his longtime companion, Patricia Garman, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Tom retired from the United States Army following many years of service and had worked for Crucible Steel.  In his free time, he enjoyed his weekly trips traveling to Mountaineer Casino to the horse track with his brother-in-law, Duke.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 10th from 6-8 p.m. in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third Street, Beaver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 11th at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 200 Third Street, Beaver, and everyone is asked to please meet at the church.

Interment with military honors will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Willard I. Carter (1933-2024)

Willard I. Carter, 90, of Hopewell Township passed away on April 5, 2024 in the VA Hospital in Oakland.  He was born in Glouster, Ohio on May 24, 1933, a son of the late Edward & Rilla Carter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; three sons: Kent, Lowell and Brian Carter; and 8 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two children: Mark & Terri Carter of Chippewa; and Ellen & Joseph Antonetti of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter-in-law: Lisa Carter of Hopewell Township; 8 grandchildren: Julianne (Jeremy) Haines, Christina Carter, Joshua (Ashley) Carter, Alecia Antonetti, Chelsea Carter, Michael (Audrey Lane) Antonetti, Madison (Alec) Bosler, and Sam Siple; 5 great grandchildren: Cole, Elijah, Aiden, Amaya, and Eve; one sister, Roberta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a retired crane operator, working with Alex E. Parris Contracting, and was a US Airforce Veteran serving during the Korean War.  Willard loved to bowl, garden and read. He was very proud to be an avid blood donator to the blood bank. Most importantly, he was an exceptional father.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa.  The members of the Beaver County Special Unit will conduct Military Honors at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Genevieve “Jenny” Cekovich Takas (1930-2024)

Genevieve “Jenny” Cekovich Takas, 94, of South Beaver Township passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, in Providence Care Center.

Born March 23, 1930, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Nellie (Polnar) Stepek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Cekovich; her second husband, Theodore Takas; 2 brothers, Joseph and Charles Stepek; and a sister, Mary Glover.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Luann) Cekovich and her daughter, Beverly (Clair) Young, both of Darlington; 4 grandchildren, Ronald (Bethann) Young, Loren (Tracie) Young, Tanya (Richard) Bartholomew and Sean (Natalie) Cekovich; 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob (Taylor) Young, Luke Young, Cheyenne Young, Zoey Young, Taylor Young, Felicia Young, Jackson Cekovich, Maria Cekovich, Anthony Cekovich, and Liam Bartholomew; a great-great-grandson, Leo Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the former St. Rose Parish, which is now St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church.  Genevieve exemplified the virtues of love, compassion, and humility in all of her endeavors. While at St. Rose, she was a member of the Resurrection Choir, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Ladies Guild.  While at St. Monica’s, she was an active member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She also was a member of the Granada Line Dancers.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 10th from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SVC, INC- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Township, where prayers will be held on Thursday, April 11th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church of St. Augustine Parish.  Fr. Kim Schreck will officiate.

Private interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.

Carol Ann (Domenick) Martella (1945-2024)

Carol Ann (Domenick) Martella, 78, of Hopewell Township, passed away on April 6th,
2024, surrounded by her loving family, at Good Samaritan Hospice after a hard-fought
battle with cancer. She was born on August 6th, 1945, to the late Dan and Anne Domenick. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Carmine and Josephine Martella and her sister-in-law Anne Domenick.
Carol is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 53 years, Paul Martella, and her two children, Danielle (Scott) Joseph of Upton, Massachusetts; Paul (April) Martella Jr. of Hopewell Township; her grandchildren Benjamin and Ayden Joseph, and Domynik and Gabriel Martella; her brother Dan Domenick (Luminada) of Coraopolis; sister in laws, Loretta Martella of Aliquippa, and Angela (Gary) McHenry of Hopewell Township and two nephews, Joe (Rebecca) McHenry and Nick McHenry.
After graduating from Montour High School in 1964, Carol attended Pittsburgh Beauty
Academy. She began her career working at a salon in Coraopolis before leaving to
become a mother and homemaker. She continued styling hair for her family and friends out of her home for many years after.
Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law,
grandmother, aunt, cousin, and amazing friend to so many. She loved spending time
with her family, especially her four grandchildren.
Carol was a member of Our Lady of Fatima church and volunteered her time every year to run various booths at the Fatima Festival, most notably the “cotton candy” booth.
She actively participated in her children’s sporting activities, fundraisers, school
functions and anything else that came her way.
Aside from her family, two other passions were her crafts and her love of bowling. She
held several bowling board positions (president, vice president and treasurer) through
her bowling career and when her health stopped her from playing, she still showed up
weekly and remained involved by helping to count money or other areas of need. She
bowled in two leagues on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, alongside her mother-in-law
Josephine. Carol also loved her crafts. Whether it was for the holidays or something she learned from her craft group or TV, her family and friends always reaped the benefits of her latest creation.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial, Wednesday, April 10, at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2270 Broadhead Road, Aliquippa. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Caroll’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her
kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit.

loving and compassionate care that was extended to Carol.
