Gino “Pig Iron” DiNardo (1931-2025)

Gino DiNardo, 93, of West Aliquippa, affectionately known as ”Pig Iron” and “Unk,” passed away on March 13th, 2025.

He was born on July 4th, 1931, a son of the late Giovanni and Antoiniella (DiPietriantonio) DiNardo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Philomena DiNardo and Helen D. Sildra, two brothers, Constantine “Stundy” DiNardo and Daniel DiNardo, two nephews, Michael DiNardo and Daniel DiNardo and his beloved dog, Snowball.
He was a member of St. Titus Church of Aliquippa.
Gino served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a clarinet player in the band. Upon his discharge from the Army, he gained employment at J&L Steelworks as a pipefitter and retired after 50 years of service.
“Unk” was fond of gardening and maintained the tradition inherited from his father of replanting garlic and sharing it with his family and friends.

He is survived by his youngest sister, Yolanda D. Lucci, who wrote this wonderful memory about her brother. When Gino was a small boy, he had a small red wagon. He would walk around and pick up pieces of Pig Iron that fell from J&L trucks. These pieces he would sell back to J&L for a few pennies. Consequently, his friends nicknamed him Pig Iron. The name stayed with him all of his life.

Gino valued time with his family, including his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who survive him: Valerie Waldroff, Toni Ann (Steve) Turkall, Danielle (Danny) Bozic, Della Marie (Terry) Zona, Dr. John Alan Lucci, Dr. Edward B. Lucci, Joseph G. Lucci, John DiNardo and Nick DiNardo, as well as a great nephew and great niece, Ryan and Justine Turkall, who “Unk” enjoyed spending time with, including numerous other special great nieces and great nephews. Gino also had many special friends in “West” throughout his lifetime.

The family expresses their gratitude to the health care professionals who provided care to Gino over the years. These include retired podiatrist and dear friends: Dr. Albert Nalli and Barbara Nalli, Dr. Scholleart, Nick Pertile CRNP, Dr. Sandhu, staff at Concordia Villa St. Joseph, Dr. Saleem and nurses August and Janine at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 17th from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Departing prayers will begin on Tuesday. March 18th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Titus Church, 952 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery and The Beaver County Special Unit will attend to present military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made if desired in memory of Gino to the Beaver County Humane Society or the Heart and Lung Association.

Charles Albert Flook (Passed on March 13th, 2025)

Charles Albert Flook, 86, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on March 13th, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Allegheny County’s Marshall Township. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Coleman Flook, his parents, Luther and Margaret Flook, his four infant children, his grandson, Nicholas Todd Flook, his brothers, Luther and Robert Flook, his sister, Hazel Wesley, his mother-in-law, Betty Jean Coleman and his brother-in-law, James Ross.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael C. Flook and Todd A. Flook (Edward Hixenbaugh), his grandsons, Michael J. and Steven Flook, and his great-grandson, Soren Flook, a daughter in law Lenora  Gagliardi, his five siblings: James (Janice) Flook, Doris Ross, Thomas (Brenda) Flook, Shirley (Paul) Stieber and Margaret (James) Goodsite; along with his sister-in-law, Jenny Flook and brother-in-law, William Hightower.

Charles retired from Teledyne Standard in Rochester. After retirement, he continued to apply his skills at Veka Window Manufacturing in North Sewickley Township.

He served his country as a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the early 1960s.

He was also an avid car enthusiast. Charles’ passion for Ford Mustangs was more than a hobby; it was a part of who he was. He spent countless hours working on, talking about and driving his beloved cars. His enthusiasm for the classic American muscle car brought joy to his life and connected him with a community of fellow enthusiasts who shared his passion.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18th from 2 – 6 pm at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Interment will take place Wednesday at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Glenn A. Morgan, Jr. (Passed on March 9th, 2025)

Glenn A. Morgan, Jr., 69, of Chippewa Township, passed away on March 9th, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born in Rochester,  the son of the late Glenn A. Sr. and Barbara (Davis) Morgan. The fond memories of his childhood were often shared with his sister, the late Barbara Mitchell, of Jefferson Street, where they grew up. Glenn’s family circle included his stepmother, Mary Bernard, and his sisters, Marty Netherland and Amy (Keith) Monroe. His life was further enriched by his nephews Dakota, John Monroe and Eric (Stephanie) Mitchell, as well as his brother-in-law, Doug Mitchell. He was also an uncle to his great-nephew, Gavin Mitchell and great-niece Georgia Mitchell. He was also survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He and his wife of 47 years, Nancy Wilhelm Morgan, raised their son, Nathan Morgan, and welcomed the addition of their grandson, Noah.

Glenn was known as a skilled welder with Beaver Valley Alloy.

Glenn’s love for the outdoors was unmistakable. He cherished living in the country, where he could watch the wildlife and enjoy the serenity of nature. His passion for the open road was fulfilled on the back of his Harley, with the wind in his face and the sun on his back. At home, his yellow Lab, Gracie was a constant companion, sharing in his love of country life.

Glenn was a member of Edgewood Church in North Sewickley Township.

Friends will be received on Monday, March 17th from 2 -4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of services at 7:30 p.m. at Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, with his pastor, Pastor Michael Coleman, officiating.

The family has suggested, rather than flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Glenn’s memory to the Edgewood Church, 43 Edgewood Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Minnie Johnson (1942-2025)

Minnie Johnson, 82, of Aliquippa, passed away on March 1st, 2025.
She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on May 4th, 1942, the daughter of the late Nina Lue Odom and James Tucker Johnson. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, and daughter, Jamel ( Elaine) Johnson and Nina Johnson, along with her cherished grandchildren, Ashlee, James and Maliya.
Minnie was a homemaker dedicated to her family. Minnie consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic. She was a receptionist at Blue Cross/Blue Shield and after leaving Pittsburgh, she worked as a telemarketer, did housekeeping work and assisted with school pictures at Shiftlet Picture Studio. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony Mastrofransesco Funeral Home, Inc., 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa.

Robert “Bob” Harold Huston (1951-2025)

Robert “Bob” Harold Huston, 73, of Beaver Falls, passed away on March 13th, 2025 at his residence.

He was born in New Brighton on August 18th, 1951, the son of the late Paul R. and Lelah May (Hoschar) Huston.

Robert was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School. He went on to serve our country as a Marine. Robert also enjoyed golfing in his free time.

Interment with Military Honors will be on Monday, March 17th at 12 Noon at Grandview Cemetery of Beaver Falls.

Robert J. Springer (Passed on March 13th, 2025)

Robert Springer, 85, of Ohioville, formally of Monaca, passed away unexpectedly on March 13th, 2025. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Kenny) Springer. In April, they would have celebrated their 65 th wedding anniversary. He was the father of five children: Bob (Mary) Springer of Chippewa, the late Lori Lewis, Linda (Joe) Smith of Monaca, Carol (Dan) Onuska of Ohioville and Cathy (Greg) Altenbaugh of Ohioville.

He was an amazing and very special Pap to fifteen grandchildren: Jake, Josh (Amy) and Shane (Kim) Springer, Bethany and Kelly Lewis, Amanda (Nolan) Lambert, Tom (Marika) Smith, Katherine (Saleem) Salimi, Jim (Casey) Schrecengost, Danny Schrecengost, Angie (Der rick) Thomas, Donna Schrecengost, Tabitha Springer, Cody and Zach Altenbaugh. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and the seventeenth due any day: Makenzie, Sydney, Aiden, Josie, James, Michael, Elizabeth, Caleb, Brooklyn, Summer, Emerson, Elliott, Maxson, Karter, Henry and Ricky. He is also survived by two sisters, Bert Tinklepaugh and Pat (Don) Welsh.

Robert worked at J&L / LTV Steel for 42 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester and a lifetime member of the Midland Sportsman’s Club.

He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his children and grandchildren, teaching and making many memories.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a donation in Bob’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Mary Ellen “Mim” Martin (1932-2025)

Mary Ellen “Mim” Martin, 92, of Chippewa Township, passed away on March 11th, 2025.

She was born in New Castle on September 25th, 1932, a daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Gould) Kilch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, LaVonne Doyle. She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years, Fred Martin of Chippewa, a son and daughter-in-law, Tim Martin and his wife Laurie, her beloved nephews and niece: William Doyle, of Franklin, Pennsylvania, Dave Doyle of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Ed Doyle, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Richard Doyle, of Orlando, Florida, a niece, Chris Okrucky, of Warren, Ohio; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen was known as a sharp dresser and savvy businesswoman with an engaging personality.

Mary Ellen was the founder and owner of “The Keeping Room” in Chippewa, an American Folk Art, Antique, and Country Craft business. She built the business from the ground up.  She worked tirelessly expanding her business which was a labor of love.  She loved reading and writing and was known to read a book in a day.

Her Christian faith was evident to anyone who knew her.

The family wishes to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of Celebration Villa of Chippewa, as well as Graine Hospice for the loving care they provided Mary Ellen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society in Mary Ellen’s name.

In accordance with Mary Ellen’s wishes, she will be cremated and no services are being planned.

Inurnment will be in Beaver Cemetery.

Virginia P. Bozek (1930-2025)

Virginia P. Bozek, 94, of Center Township passed away on March 11th, 2025 in Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Rochester on March 16th, 1930, a daughter of the late Leonard and Josephine McDade Bloom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joseph T. Bozek and Jodi Bozek and eight sisters: Linda, Patricia, Nancy, Dana, Karen, Sonja, Roberta and Rosemary; as well as three brothers, Leonard Jr., Philip and John. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Joseph W. Bozek, Sr., one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Joseph W. Bozek, Jr. and Cindy Bozek of Rochester Township, four daughters and three sons-in-law: Susan D. and Jeff Nelsen of Morgantown, West Virginia, Diane J. Chevalier of Jacksonville, Florida, Cheryl A. and Robert Huttenhower of North Hills, and Melinda L. “Mindy” and Mark Hiber of Hopewell; as well as ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a retired volunteer with Meals on Wheels where she had helped for 35 years. She was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church of Center Township, part of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish. She had been an office administrator in the former Rochester General Hospital, but mostly she was a housewife and homemaker.  Friends will be received on Sunday, March 16th from 2-5 P.M. in the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 16th at 1:00 PM in St. Francis Cabrini Church, 115 Trinity Drive, Aliquippa. Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Kathleen Regina Lambert (Passed on March 10th, 2025)

Kathleen Regina Lambert, 72, of Vanport, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on March 10th, 2025.

She was born in Rochester, the daughter of the late Russell and Frances Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Terry, Thomas and Richard Johnston. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert, her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Erik, her treasured granddaughter, Dr. Erika Watts, along with several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen graduated from Beaver Falls High School with the class of 1971. After graduation, she and her beloved husband, Robert Allen Lambert, settled in Vanport in 1972, where they built a life filled with love and shared experiences since their marriage on June 24th, 1972.

Kathleen’s professional life was marked by her compassionate service as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid, where she retired after years of dedicated work.

Outside of work, Kathleen’s hands found joy and fulfillment in the art of crafting.

Family was the cornerstone of Kathleen’s life. She was a mother to her daughter, Dawn (Erik) Watts, and took immense pride in her granddaughter, Dr. Erika Watts, whose accomplishments filled her with joy. Kathleen’s love for her family extended to her furry companion, a Corgi mix named Ivy, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 15th from 2- 6 p.m. at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.

John Joseph Musico (1972-2025)

John Joseph Musico, 52, of Beaver Falls, passed away unexpectedly on March 11th, 2025 at Heritage Valley Beaver.

He was born in Pittsburgh on April 15th, 1972, the son of Darlene Kay Misko Musico and the late Joseph Carmen Musico. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, John J. Musico Jr., his brother, Jason McCray and his niece, KaMya Young.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Santina Musico and John and Margaret Misko.

John’s warm and compassionate nature was not just reserved for humans. He had a profound love for animals, especially cats, which he cherished as a part of his family. In his free time, he enjoyed the tranquility of fishing and the challenge of golf in his younger years.

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 18th from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 6 P.M. at Corless-Kunselman Funeral Services, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, where the Beaver County Special Unit will perform full military honors at 5 P.M.

Interment will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in John’s name to the Beaver County Humane Society, 1900 7th Avenue, Beaver Falls.
