LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS WERE BUSY FIGHTING A HOUSE FIRE IN THE 100 BLOCK OF ORCHARD AVENUE IN ELLWOOD CITY LAST NIGHT. THE FIRE ALSO CAUSED DAMAGE TO A HOUSE NEXT DOOR. ACCORDING TO ELLWOOD CITY POLICE, THE HOMEOWNER WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR SMOKE INHALATION BUT REFUSED TRANSPORTION TO A HOSPITAL. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

Industry Man Suing Beaver Police Department
A MAN PREVIOUSLY CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING A BEAVER POLICE DOG HAS CLAIMED EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS USED IN HIS ARREST. 34-YEAR-OLD JAMES CICCO OF INDUSTRY IS NOW SUING THE BOROUGH, AS WELL AS SEVERAL POLICE OFFICERS. CICCO IS ALLEGING A TOTAL OF NINE CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS AGAINST THE BOROUGH, CHIEF DAN MADGAR AND OFFICERS JEFF WININ-REIMS AND HOWARD BINN THE SECOND. HE IS SEEKING A TOTAL OF 375-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Paula Johnston Talked about Generation Marketplace on Teleforum Today!!
Paula Johnston owner of Generations in Beaver stopped by Teleforum with Frank Sparks this morning to talk about The Generations Marketplace that takes place on Saturday’s at the Big Knob Grange on Big Knob Road in New Sewickley Township. Generations Marketplace will be going on for two more weeks this year and she hopes to expand it next year. Paula said this weekend is Christmas in July at the Marketplace. There will be vendors that will be selling Christmas items such as trees ornaments and all types of decorations. One vendor will be selling trains and train sets. There will also be Christmas cookies and other great food cooked by the ladies at the grange for sale. There will also be a great selection of other vendors there selling tools, car parts, collectibles and of course antiques. The Generations Marketplace is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. this Saturday. There is plenty of Free Parking and admission is also free. MOTORCYCLE CRASH VICTIMS IDENTIFIED
The victims of last Thursday’s fatal motorcycle crash in Industry have been identified. Elizabeth and Warren Butera, both 53, were killed , according to Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer,
The Brighton Township couple were riding together on a motorcycle headed toward Midland. According to Beaver Police Chief Dan Madgar, an SUV drove into their path while attempting to turn onto Route 68 from Wabash Street.
Both victims died as a result of blunt force trauma, Gabauer said.
No one in the SUV was injured. Police continue to investigate the crash.
