Ellwood City Christmas House Tour on Sat December 14

It’s that magical time of the year again and 6 wonderful families have opened their hearts and homes to the public to share the magic!

The Ellwood City Municipal Woman’s Club will be hosting it’s 33rd Annual Christmas House Tour on Saturday December 14 from 10am to 3pm. There will be 5 homes featured along with Sam Teolis’s personal museum! Many area businesses will also be participating with special discounts and drawings. The cost of the ticket is $10 and all proceeds go toward maintaining the gazebo at the five points in Ewing Park(which was built by the EC Municipal Woman’s Club) and civic projects.

Tickets can be purchased at Market Place on Main, Posies by Patti, Shops at the Underpass, Blocher’s Jewelers, any club member or by visiting the Ellwood City Municipal Woman’s Club Facebook page.

A map is provided and houses can be toured at your leisure.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind holiday extravaganza celebrating Ambridge and the spirit of Christmas.

The parade features live music, a pet parade, floats, and appearances by some of your Christmas favorites:  Old Economy Harmonists, local first responders, Belsnickel and Santa Claus.

After the parade, the celebration continues in P.J. Caul Park where festivities include pictures with Belsnickel and Santa Claus and a petting zoo.

Hopewell’s Holiday Express 12/6, 7, 8

The start of Hopewell’s Holiday Express will be held at the township building on Friday, December 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Parade, food, Santa, and  lots of fun for all!!

On Saturday, December 7 & 8 from Noon to 4 p.m.  residents can participate  in the 3rd annual Holiday Trail.  Pick up a brochure at the township office and visit the merchants listed.  While shopping for those you can get free  appetizers, and a free ornament.  Elves are hiding in each of the  17 businesses listed.. ..each one with a different name.  If you can correctly identify 6 elves by name, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win  gift baskets compliments of  participating merchants. Be sure to visit a minimum of 6 participating businesses.

“Light Up a Life” at Brighton Rehab & Wellness

The Activities Dept. at Brighton Rehab & Wellness (formerly Friendship Ridge)  will be holding  “Light Up a Life”  this year.  This special program allows for our community to come together and donate for a very special cause: The Residents.  They are asking for donations by December 20th to give the 500 residents a memorable Christmas.  Below is a list of items for both men and women.

WOMEN: Hand/body lotion, bath gel, cologne, deodorant, lipstick or gloss, socks and small coin purses.

MEN: Body lotion, aftershave, cologne, body wash, deodorant, socks and wallets.

Fleece blankets and gift cards (to help us purchase what is not donated) also make great gifts.

Aliquippa Light Up Night 12/5/19

Aliquippa’s Department of Parks and Recreation has announced the “The Gathering” on Franklin Avenue  A COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS   will be held Thursday, December 5 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The annual Christmas tree lighting will be held  in front of the police department .
There will bee food, activities, raffles, and oh yes….A visit from Santa Claus!!

What is needed? Hygiene products, blankets, NEW items of warm clothing such as scarves, gloves, socks, sweats and hats…they do not need to be wrapped.  Also, monetary gifts are greatly appreciated to purchase whatever is not received.  Last year over 1,300 people spent the day with us and enjoyed a delicious meal and a great time of fellowship.  Please help us to continue this wonderful outreach!  Hope to see YOU!
