Linda Ogden Talks About Community Outreach Project PROJECT3MP

PROJECT3MP is a project that reaches out to victims of human trafficking and addiction, and to “mobilize a shift in the anti-trafficking paradigm”. Linda Ogden (shown here with husband Dave), executive director and founder of PROJECT3MP, spoke to Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County about what inspired her to create this organization and what this project sets out to do. She also discussed of the upcoming gathering for the public set for May 27, to be held at the Little Red Meeting House on 8th Avenue in Beaver Falls, beginning at 9 AM. This event will feature training, testimonials, and open discussions on the subject of victimization in the addiction and trafficking community.

Shell Secures Needed Parking

SHELL CHEMICALS IS LEASING PARKING SPACES AROUND THE FORMER SEARS AUTO BUILDING AT THE BEAVER VALLEY MALL FOR THEIR WORKERS AND SHUTTLE BUSES THAT WILL TRANSPORT THOSE WORKERS TO THE SHELL SITE IN POTTER TOWNSHIP. IN TOTAL, THE COMPANY HAS SECURED ABOUT 31-HUNDRED PARKING SPOTS. MORE ARE BEING SOUGHT. CONSTRUCTION ON THE SIX-BILLION-DOLLAR CRACKER PLANT IS EXPECTED TO START TOWARD THE END OF THIS YEAR.

Beaver County Seeing Increase In Meth Lab Calls

Beaver County is reporting an increase in crystal meth lab calls to the county. Emergency Services Director Eric Brewer tells Beaver County Radio News Director Pat Septak that while they don’t have any concrete numbers, officials have definitely noticed in increase in such calls. Brewer says recent training on how to handle meth lab calls are provided through the attorney general’s office. By law, the Hazmat team is only able to contain releases, not remove or dispose of any materials.

 

Dogs on the Run on Teleforum Tomorrow Friday May 19, 2017

Tune into Teleforum with Frank Sparks tomorrow morning on 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Frank will have open mic talk till 11:30 when Dogs on the Run in East Palestine Ohio will be bringing in some of their great hot dogs for Frank and the staff of Beaver County Radio to taste live on the air. Frank will also be streaming the segment via his personal Facebook page on Facebook Live.

Huntington Business Spotlight!!! Beaver Area Heritage Foundation.

The Huntington Bank Business Spotlight for the Month of May on Teleforum with Frank Sparks was on Thursday May 18, 2017 at 9:10 a.m.. This month’s spotlight was the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation. Stacey Ivol represented the foundation. Steve Carpenter from Huntington Bank was also in studio with Frank and Stacey.  Frank, Steve, and Stacey talked about the foundation and some of the great activities they have scheduled throughout the upcoming weeks. They also talked about the history of the foundation, how to join, what all facilities they operate, fielded phone calls from the listeners and talked about the memorial day parade in Beaver.
