One of the longest-running choral groups in Beaver County presents one of its longest-running Christmas traditions as the Genevans perform their 82nd Annual Christmas Concert on December 6 & 7 at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls.
Dr. David Smith, the Genevans’ director since the Fall of 2012, joined Matt Drzik on the December 2 edition of A.M. Beaver County to preview this year’s repertoire, and give some insight behind the creative and spiritual inspiration involving which songs are to be sung by Geneva College’s chief choir, along with two of its chamber groups in the Grace Notes and Eight Bells.
Dr. Smith also spoke about the journey that took him to where he is as the groups’ current director, the way that the group is configured and subsidized before reconfiguration, and the various events and trips the group takes throughout the school year.
The concerts are free to the public with a free-will offering, and the shows begin at 7:00 PM at First Presbyterian in Beaver Falls. Early attendance is recommended.
