What we will never be sure of is what Aliquippa coach Nick Lackovich said to his Quip players at the halftime of their opening-round matchup against Tyrone of District 6 in the PIAA AA Playoffs.

A 22-4 third quarter, including a 20-0 run to open the half, helped Aliquippa to a comfortable win over the Tyrone Golden Eagles at Peters Township on Saturday. Anthony Politza led the Eagles with 14, while Chucky Humphries led the Quips with 23. Both men were selected as the CCBC Players of the Game.

Aliquippa advances to the second round where they will play Bishop Canevin. Tyrone finishes the 2015-16 with a record of 13-10.
